      Such a fantastic light that does it all. And the 18650 battery is awesome too. especially if you already use cr123 as they can be used in it as well.

    Jason, seems like a great light Iv been looking for that new one!!! I have been a Petzel customer since going LED but they lack the features and are hard on the Batteries.. That price point is not bad either and that battery is killer, I have that in a night light for a predator mount light and I am shocked at how long it lasts. Good review..

    Just got an O-light headlamp that uses 2 actual Batteries that are AAA and one strap seeing how easy it is to go through the settings, get to the red light and have it stay on redlight. Now my Black Diamond one that will not stay on red light or is hard to get to go on red light and when you do finally get it to go red light for a while is hard get off. Sure, O-light is a Chinese Company but has a people doing partial ownership in the countries that sell the items. Also, it is way lighter for a 200 lumen and the other Black Diamond model is much heavier as it takes 4 AA batteries and lasts longer on max but is so heavy that carrying more AAA will still be lighter then using the Black Diamond. My older Black Diamond needs to have a brimmed hat to not have the light shine in eyes or tip forward so it is crap for running unlike the O-light that I could use easier in the winter when not wearing a brimmed hat. I got them for $20 during the summer sale and would be $30 if I had not bought during the sale but that is almost worth it considering the Black Diamond was $90 with tax when I got it, I got the older model from a Sheel's in Rapid City as Black Diamond was moving to a rechargeable that only lasted 20 hours on high, something people complained about with the first gen rechargeable of the same model I had but the newer version. Some Black Diamond sponsored runners were at the time still using the old battery powered model for longer trail runs where they were trying to set a Fastest Known Time or Only/First known Time on a very long multiday effort and now newer versions of the model I have use 4 removable rechargeable batteries so if it dies after 20 hours they are not sunk with a non removable battery for the adventurer and Black Diamond now has a 200 lumen like the O-light for $50--$65 now from Black Diamond that is almost the same thing but hard to use buttons and does not have a forward tilting mechanism but a fixed non moveable light.

      And forgot to mention when it comes to headlamps and flash lights. Nobody makes them better that China. I will buy Chinese lights all day everyday before I buy American ones again.

      @@SamkoTradBow USA has some good brands but only for headlamps like Petzel okay but very durable, Black Diamond good and well built but a bit overpriced unless you need them, and cheaper $9--$10 not on sale Options from Energizer or more traditional lanterns, like Coleman or similar, however the Flashlights suck in the US and are stuck in a rut with overpriced ones unless you get military grade Bell and Howel or similar way more expensive brands that are now using the new military tech lights that get hot enough to fry an egg or start a fire. The one I have is more an everyday headlamp as for running you still want the other lights especially for longer events.

      @@caseysmith544 yep but even those American ones are getting most of thier parts and less from China. China is amazing when it comes to lights

      @@SamkoTradBow True as well. the one I have from early to almost mid 2010's is made mostly in China or in USA with Foigein parts. I got The Black Diamond in 2015 as a going out model for a fixed battery rechargeable that was not as good for those doing Multiday adventure stuff as they did not think about those who would not have a way to charge well out in the field. I mean even though at the time Petzel and others including the newer O-light had a rechargeable battery design for a flashlight or even the conversion style light from head to handheld with L shaped light that O-light made at the time as the only model of headlamp.

    I find 200--300 Lumens is about all need in the woods or out at night. Trust me the open areas in South Dakota on a new moon can be very dark when away from all city and highway lights. I do not need the turbo modes on any of the lights I have ever had, I never needed that much. On O-light the red is fine for morning to keep the light from messing with you. For all hunting for big game in South Dakota you need at least an orange cap on no matter what even if in places that only allow bow hunting and most public places a Vest if on public land that allows guns.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 роки тому +1

      Yep. It's not all about lumens it's about runtime! The amount of runtime time provided by these batteries is amazing, the extra lumens is a very nice bonus when needed. Especially for someone like me that goes I to new never been to spots in the morning darkness and scouts and sets up before daylight.

    • @caseysmith544
      @caseysmith544 2 роки тому

      @@SamkoTradBow Yes the run time for the new O-light is 30 min at high full power but 25% of 200 90 at and runs on 2 AAA batteries that I could just carry with me when hunting as it is so easy to carry multiple batteries and still have weight less then my Black Diamond. At 50 Lumens the middle setting the headlamp lasts 4 hours so not too bad, all at 100% no drop off, then the last setting is 10 lumens and is crap lumens but is 20 hours at 100% no drop off. Black Diamond will be relegated to times I will need a longer light as that can last days.

    Hi Jason..Just received my HC68..& what appeared to be an exciting experience is heading south .. I began by attempting to look at the battery..Your supposed to rotate the battery cap CCC to view the charging port and it wouldn’t budge. I’m 6’2” weigh 240 lbs and ended up having to use a pair of pliers.. I kept rotating the cap to view the battery but couldn’t move the cap ..
    I tried to charge the battery blinking blue and the manual said 3 hours .. 6 hours later it’s still blinking.. I turned the male connector 180° and 6 hours later it’s still blinking..I have to wait til Monday to either replace it, refund or have pay pal resolve it .. I just had an episode with China and here we go again. Sad to say I have a lemon 🍋 and China sucks pal.. Time to go to war again .

      Maybe. But for scouting in the dark when going in to a new spot in the morning or navigating a canoe or Jon boat theu a swamp in the dark, or trying to scan for eyes on a gut shot deer 100 yards ahead more power is a beautiful thing. Not to mention the battery life even on lower out put levels. This head lamp is straight up amazing. I will never carry a low powered head lamp or flashlight again. Even if I don't need the power for that task, the runtime is well worth it
