    SUMMARY:
    --------------------
Time management is ultimately about working a vision backwards into strategic and scheduled chunks of time and tasks.
It's about yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Easy, right?
Well, don't overcomplicate it. Strip everything away. Get back to the basics and stay focused on just a few essentials. Remember, the main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.

start with your big qiestoon: whats your life goal? what do you want to achieve?
    1. what kind of person you want to be?
what character you want to have?
    2. relationship perspective, what do you want to show up for others?
    3. career, what makes you exceptional in your work. what skills do you want to deliberate?
    a. think about your monthly goal
    b. every single week plan same blocks for your priority like exercise creativity family time
    c. every morning write down what three things must happen to move me forward, what i must achieve for the day

My whiteboard in my office that faces me has Today, This Week, This Month as the main To Do Lists. And my main prioritization system is Want, Need, Must. The bulk of the things I accomplish are in my Need bucket and the Must items are things that I don't go home until they are done. The top items on my Today list are any Must items. The others are items that will become Must items tomorrow if undone today.
I really enjoyed your Time Management Rules. They make a lot of sense.

Time management is one of my strong points. One of my long time life goals is to obtain time freedom. I'm always getting closer to it and working toward it. With that said, I still learned some things from this video. I'm very thankful for your wisdom Brendon!

  • @bfbisbusy
    @bfbisbusy 7 років тому +1

You just said to write down your goals for the month, and the week, schedule some time in for myself, and make sure I have a goal week of what I want to see accomplished. I forgot about that, but I paused the video to do that. It's amazing to take 35 minutes to get yourself in check. Thank you.

Great Video! It's put together very well. The two gems I'm taking from this are:
    1) time management starts with your life goals
    2) block your time even for relationship and creativity

  • @spanishlessonstech

Thanks for the valuable information Brandon! When it comes to time management and workflow, I like the classic Getting Things Done. You'll benefit immensely If you can take this 3 habits out of it:
    1. Have a reliable capturing system, so your mind doesn't need to hold ideas, just create them.
    2. Have a "Waiting for" list, anything that needs to happen and is outside your control, must be written down. It gives you a great sense of control.
    3. Organize your actions in contexts, for example, things you need to do on your PC, things you need to do outside, things you need to do in your phone. This way, batching is a lot easier.
Sometimes I thing going back to the basics is the best way!

Hey Brendon, 2017 is finally ending. I remember when I came across you and this wonderful video. I would like to share my experience since that. I put into practice almost everything you said and it's incredible how far I could reach asking these simple questions to me. I can say 2017 is being a big year to me. And today I'm revisiting again this video to gauge my plans for 2018!
    Thank you very much!

I love your book High Performance Habits!!!! It has changed my life. I have been taking a financial management class for nonprofits and it was challenging. Plus, work was challenging. I have learned how to truly achieve success by doing little chunks of 90 min blocks of time. I have learned to speak up for my purpose. I literally changed so much momentum in my life in the last 3 months. It is amazing!! You are an inspiration Brendon. Thank you so much!👌😊

    Hi Brendon,
Thank you man for these great charged life videos! Time management is my ultimate weakness. Before I was underestimating time and have this zero-schedule 'just do it' mind. Until I became a husband and then a dad. My life become so busy and so unfocused. Without time management my life experience turned into stressful, sensitive, less time for family, less sleep, full of randomness, delivering delayed task, and more day dreaming without actions.
Your video about how to focus changed my week. And I believe this video will also definitely guide me to fulfill our dreams.
Great thanks and God bless you!
    Regards,
    Ezekiel

We all have the same 24/7 hours a day. Yet, we all have different circumstances in life. I've come to find out that there is no one size fits all in terms to time management. It is up to us as individuals to manage our time wisely.

hey ,wanted to bring to your attention the fact - that the day really starts from the night before! people who struggle with time management, might be, lots of time - not morning people to begin with...and siting yourself down in the morning focused..? well that probably just wont happen - unless you creat that list of missions the night before- of what to do the following day..lets not forget those hours of sleep to make you functional to do all those things your planning to do....... :-)
