One of my earliest memories is when I was playing Smash Bros Melee, i had just unlocked this particular stage and was playing on it. My older sister was in the room and commented on how creepy the music was. She then grabbed this clown doll of mine and started making it move to the beat! Bred my fear of clowns as a kid 😂 but great choice to remix! Ive always associated this song with October because of how creepy that memory was as a child!!

2:22 You're so talented at slightly reharmonizing the mid voices (not only in this track, I have Song of Healing from Majora's Mask and Ghost House from Super Mario World in mind), without touching the base chords. I assume there is a lot of respect for original composers in your work, and so you don't feel like messing with the base chords and try to keep your remixes harmonically accurate, but I would really like to see what you could achieve if you 'd fully reharmonize some tracks ! Anyway, great work as usual, and thank you !

At this time, I listened to a lot of jazz or orchestral nintendo remixes and always felt like that was the most interesting in terms of technicity and musical expression. Stone Tower from Rozen or Woodfall Temple from Theophany were the 2 masterpieces I keep coming back to, almost feeling like my musical perception skills would passively upgrade only by listening to them. When I started listening to your remixes, I could't explain why I loved them so much.. but kept getting back to some tracks. Behind an apparent simplicity (caracterising the whole genre), I came to appreciate the huge amount of work you put in details (typically slight reharmonization, drums and mid voices structure, dynamism and intensity), the variation in your influences, the groovy/slappy beats that sound "Qumu"... Anyway, I juste wanted to acknowledge this. And I can't wait for your next track !

The most tense of music could become more peaceful sounding and soothing with Qumu remixes it doesn’t even ruin the vibe as it still fits if I could code id make a remake of metroid zero mission in 2.5D and use this for kraids lair

Never experienced the game but the song sends chills up your spine and reinvigorates you. not too suddenly, and leaving you feeling energized and determined. you open up your books.

The NES version definitely burns a bit😂 You really took what was there and then cranked it up to the next level without being overly obnoxious (one of the typical “remix” pitfalls) Perfect timing too with dread coming out and all! Will be listening to this a lot
This is 100% how I imagine the soundtrack feels/sounds when you're in the glass tube connecting Brinstar and Maridia. Not that it actually plays there, but it would fit really well if Samus were just like... taking a lunch break in that spot lol There's a lot more under the hood on this track than it appears, the whole 'aquatic' vibe I'm sensing is a product of a lot of work beneath the surface. I also really enjoyed the creative melodic liberties taken in later parts of the track. Most people aren't willing to riff on this theme, and this remix benefited a lot from the inclusion of some melodic interpretation.
