Backyard Birds of Australia Cute Birb Videos
Feeding wild birds. Red birb.
Word has spread across the birbs that there is a wonderful human with food to spare.
😊❤
We have about twenty. All after unsalted, roasted cashews!
Bird is the word.
@@kakarikiIck look at my birdz
@@JNL37Dyxce5 like the wild bird drinking and kissing the camera? He does a bit!
Aw, those kings are so gentle even when eating lol
Meanwhile, Chooky/Chookie goes full-bore MUST-HAVE-IT-NOW-PECK-PECK-PECK :D
😊❤
Note to self: don't wear flip flops when chookie is around. Lol! The parrots are so pretty. Looks like the male is more red than green, and the female is more green than red. That makes it a lot easier to tell them apart!

Male Birds are usually more brightly colored to distract from the female and the babies to protect them from predators.
Haha yeah they love trying to eat our toes!
@@FredTheLutinoCocatiel Wrong. Their distinguishing characteristics, green or orange, called sexual dimorphism is determined by evolution through natural selection. Most bird species have vastly different colours and the male with the brightest colours (to a bird’s vision) gets to mate ahead of his rivals. Those genes for bright colours then get passed on to the next generation. It happens in mammals too, lions have manes and lionesses do not for example. Given that the hatchlings live in a tree hollow until they fly no predator can see them. Dimorphism is not linked to distracting the predator, if it was then there would be no males left.
@@teeanahera8949 ¨is determined by evolution through natural selection. -- Those genes for bright colours then get passed on to the next generation. It happens in mammals too, lions have manes and lionesses do not for example.¨ = BOLLOCKS !
The reasons why male lions have manes is due to testosterone and not evolution.
A castrated lion will lose its mane , and there are cases of lionesses with manes , and also male lions without manes.
Thanks for your lesson on evolution - just a shame that your theory is not backed by fact.
The chicken is always tagging along 💕
😊❤
Don't underestimate Chookie. She comes from the great family of dinosaurs. Her ancestors chickened out to survive from the asteroids, but she's still a dinosaur at heart. You can't demand that she shouldn't eat you, you can only request.
It's kind enough for her not to stomp over your body.
Haha, chookie's the boss!
That home is Heaven for the Bird Lover like me
The one bird looked like a red and green flower, it’s amazing how their colors camouflage perfectly to their surroundings.
Yeah, even rainbow lorikeets can disappear in the trees, in spite of being bright red, yellow, blue and green!
Evolution.
It is not possible to have perfect camouflage, they have quite good camouflage,
@@teeanahera8949 True, but this little guy fooled me at first ☺️
Note to self: Found a reason to move to Australia - parrots in the garden!
If I was 50 years younger, I would do the same thing. If I could pass all the immigration restrictions.
😊❤
We have parrots everywhere, even as an Aussie I find it fabulous.
@@bondicraig37 we have grackles. Not quite the same.
Exactly why I did it :) Blame the budgies I had when I was a kid.
Disney princess confirmed ! Now you have the parrots eating out of your hands ! 😍

The kids must be running their parents crazy. The blank stare in their eyes give it away.
It's the night feeds that's wearing them out.

The shy Kings eating from your hand!! 🦜You are such a bird whisperer 🙌
😊❤
@@BackyardBirdsofAustralia Are kings very common there?
@@Fenrispro Yeah they're fairly common. It's a bit hard for me to say because I don't know how often other people see them, but I see them in my backyard almost every day.
@@BackyardBirdsofAustralia more so in queensland i think.
Kings are the least shy parrots, wild ones often come into people’s gardens and are very inquisitive. They’ll happily eat out of your hand as you saw here.
You have the best birds 🐦 House 🏡 too. Cheers 🥂 from New Jersey USA 🇺🇸
Thank you! Much love from Australia ❤
Every King Parrot I have encountered at home has been very friendly and trusting.
One used to fly inside and sit on the kitchen table chirping at us until we got it some sunflower seeds.
You live in what a biologist like me would describe as paradise.
Thanks! What work do you do in biology? I don't do any research in biology myself but I do enjoy going to mathematical biology talks at conferences.
@@BackyardBirdsofAustralia
Biodiversity stuff in forests mostly, focussing on insects.

They do look similar!!
Wow you have a magical yard.
So Beautiful .
Had to chuckle at the daddy parrot chowing down on the sunflower seeds.. they're the "chocolate" for all birds 🤤
No, for most parrots. Honey eaters and predatory birds won’t eat seeds (except for Magpies).😊
Eating from your hand!! Such colorful & friendly birds! You are so lucky! .... MeanwhileChookie is continuously pecking your toes if you feed the parrots 😂
Yep it certainly keeps life interesting 😊❤
Gorgeous birds!

Hi from the UK 🙂
I'm happy to hear that! Much love from Australia ❤
The red parrots r striking in color!
Yeah they're amazing! 😊❤
The birds dont flinch at all. You're literally a disney princess❤️
❤
King and Queen Parrot brought Prince and Princess Parrot to see their flightless giant friend!
I wish there was such interesting birds where I’m from
All we have are crows that what choose your hand over any food you were offering them
he's so pretty!
❤
I think your feathered friend isn't just hungry, maybe a little jealous.
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful birds
man I just love Australia
That chicken is definitely jealous.
I love King parrots. There are 5 that come to our deck to be fed. Only one will eat out of my hand.As well as the red & green feathers there is a cobalt blue section underneath their wings & on their back.
These guys love to eat the camellia nuts in my backyard, they are very chatty and gentle birds.
They trust you so much
It’s great how all the birds you feed seem to know instinctively that they can trust you
Having seen many other animals from Australia, for a change these ones are cute and non-lethal
Haha yeah it evens out 😅😊❤
@Sean Bayley Ow one other illusion destroyed LOL
Its all dangerous down under .. and Koala's
🐨🐨🐨?
Greets from Johan from The Netherlands
@Sean Bayley Chlamydia is not to bad LOL
compared to getting your finger bitten off. or what I heard that great White Shark attack.....
They are so cuddly. so you get Chlamydia on your nose if ye go nose to nose with them
LOL
I am dying over here LOL
So i will just give them sarsaparilla leaves on a branch or some eucalyptus
I do think koalas are the cutest thing out there and might be the least lethal.
you also have some scary plants in Australia.. eh Gympie and eh nettle trees
You guys must be made of steel to survive all that
havent named any snakes yet LOL
well here in The Netherlands ye might encounter a... fox LOL I think we have about ten wolves somewhere
Look at the brilliant family! The baby wasn't sure if she should partake without asking for permission from her mum and daddy. At the end, she couldn't resist a little wee snack. I love chookie's cooing. I love Australia's glorious feathered babes. Actually, I love all animals. Thank you for the wonderful wonderful video.
Thank you! Glad I can share the video with you 😊❤
They came with their best outfits to see you. Maybe they're telling their young to behave in front of this wonderful and kind landlord, too !
Beautiful birds and so gentle too.
I like that despite all your experience and comfort with all the birds, whenever you have new visitors you still go slow with them and don't just confidently shove your hand in their face.
Your nature is what attracts these birds to you so much I believe :D
Hope you have a great weekend :D
Thank you!! I hope you have a great weekend too! 😊❤
What pretty birds!
You're so lucky.
In Paris it's not really the same thing with rats and pigeons. If it occurred to me to hand feed them, I would be good to catching many disease.
The parrots are beautiful! Thank you! I very much enjoyed the video😊
So happy to hear that! 😊❤
Whst a paradise you live in! Those incredible parrots, and your house as well. Lovely!
look at him just being a tired little dad
Those parrots are so beautiful and pensive! I love how the second one had such a smooth seeming gradient of colours (or maybe my screen is wonky lol)
I keep wanting something like this so much that I'm thinking I should learn to create games, and make a game (maybe VR) that is a "surrounded by wild parrots" simulator lol
Sounds like a good idea for a game!
I think you are a bird whisperer. How you get the wild birds to eat right out of your hand is so special.
Thank you 😊❤
I think the chicken was the real star of the video 😊
Astoundingly adorable.
😊❤
Such beautiful birds! And so friendly too, the dad bird looked very grateful for the snacks~
As a kid, I had a budgie that went after toes with a vengeance. I used to eat dinner sitting cross legged on my chair. I looked under the table and she was there, like: “s o o n”.
That's awesome. We've had a heap of black cockies up here and little corellas
Oh I love the black cockatoos! We get them in the trees but they don't come as close to me as the other birds.
Yeah they're fairly shy. They're demolishing the scarab figs up here at the moment.
I love your channel it's so uplifting in these dark times ty from England x
Thank you, that means a lot and I'm glad I can share these videos with you 😊❤
