As a hospital security officer, mine is a must for me. I use the pinpoint accuracy time to review camera footage, and the multiple alarms are used for specific door locks that have to be secured at different times. I use the negative version because I wear all black, and it looks great! I don't even have to sit mine in the windowsill because the tough solar battery indicator always stays on high. I'll never wear any other watch, especially not one of those supposed "smart watches" that plugs into the wall, which ultimately becomes unreliable when push comes to shove, and I get the code greens for combative psych patients. This baby holds up! Great watch that’s 100% self sustaining!
I’m mostly with you both on all this, but to be completely fair you can do all those things with a smart watch also. Apple Watch (ultra especially) for example one will be 100% accurate time always because your phone is synced, which is the same as the atomic clock. You can still set multiple (actually unlimited) alarms and they’re actually also quite durable. Ultra has a solid 2 days of battery life, but you can just put it on a charger next to you when you sleep and you’ll always be solid. Even better is something like a Garmin which has weeks (months even) of battery life at least. The main thing with this is even more durability, which few people truly need, and basically infinite battery life. If you charge your phone every day you can charge your watch. I agree that it’s a phenomenal choice, and it’s fully zombie apocalypse ready, but really all these arguments don’t really make a lot of sense.
I should add, regarding durability, that these have mineral crystal faces compared to Garmin and Apple Watch Ultra options with sapphire crystal. So while the body is maybe more durable in some regards with the G shock, at least cosmetically, the face certainly is not. But the difference is it’s like a $100 watch so it’s easier to replace.
@@Cortezumasmart watches track your health better. Aside from that they are a pain in the ass. If the screen cracks you’re in for an expensive repair (durability). I purchased the GW-5000 I had to send it back, If you are 60 + like me you wear glasses for reading but also like me you don't need them when you are out and about walking, well then you will not be able to read the watch time without putting your glasses on, great watch if you don't wear glasses.

Very interesting. I have owned the 5610U for 2 weeks.I paid exactly 100 euros on eBay then tempered glass film for the display for 5 euros, I am satisfied, Some say the 5000 would be better, but it is more as twice expensive.
Great watch. Got mine from Argos last year and paid full price but still happy. Just picked up the mrw -200 in the sale which I highly recommend for everyday wear
I own watches that cost x10, x20 or even more. but this is the watch I wear each day... this is probably the best watch that was ever created. I own two, and I also own GW-5000U, because from time to time I would like to switch. Incredible watches for money... If you have $100 or $200 you should definitely buy one of these two... But even better = buy both...
Yes, there is an app. I live in Europe and the radio-receiver works even in the south of Spain. I love this watch but it has the exact same module as the GW5610U which is less than half the price. It's my every day watch. I love it cause it's a watch you never really have to care much about. It charge itself, it fixes the time shift by itself so it's always the exact time, it's resistant. The time signal isn't received every day but with the kind of time shift it have, once a mount would still be enough. I found that it strangely works better way up north in Canada far from cities even if you also get far from the tower. I just wish they would do a casioak version of it with more colors to chose from. Yeah, it's not a popular feature set these days. Casio seams to prefer bluetooth connection witch I don't like case the day the app is deprecated, your watch will loose all those cool features including the time setting. For me, radio is the way to go.
I had the same problem.. Till I Put the watch Face down on a table at night and it will have better reception or even press the reception button and face it down on a table for 5 minutes and it should work.. It's worth a try
I sort of want one and I don't. Part of me loves it but part of me knows I wouldn't wear it because my Cassio F-91w is just as tough and accurate enough for me. I accidently dropped my F-91w from the upstairs bannister and it landed on a solid wood floor. I checked the floor for damage because I knew the watch would be fine.
It is a great watch to have in the collection as it just does everything that you would need for a watch to do without it being connected to a smartphone. Thank you for commenting. Cheers, Tony - WTA
This is the best watch - automatically sets time each night and is very light. The viewing angle blurs the digital numbers a bit when you move your wrist - unlike the cheaper DW5600, but this is an awesome watch!
I own the original 5610's both with the positive display and the negative display. Both are great watches. Although I enjoy wearing mine I don't think I can justify purchasing this one as I am quite used to the month end date layout common to nearly all Casio digital watches. You really don't need any other watch as the 5610 has everything you need.
From your comment I'm not sure you realise that on all "u" versions you have the choice whether it shows date/month or month/date. Set it up in the format that wirks best for you
Well worth it! My everyday beater, set it and forget it watch. Always accurate, battery always full, cheap enough so one don’t care very much for it. Not that it could be destroyed easily. I have this for every day and GMW B5000db for special accasions.
I loved the look and feel of this watch but as I said before on some of your other videos I just couldn't hear the alarm signals. This was frustrating as the button presses were quite audible to me but there was no way to increase the alarm volume so therefore no point in having multiple alarm functions. How did your ears find the volume. By the way I bought the Casio AE1200 from our favorite store for £21 and can plainly hear the alarm tones. Perhaps it's all the additional shock proofing that deadens the volume on the G-Shock!
Thank you for commenting and glad to read that you went ahead and bought the Casio AE1200. It is meant to be a great watch and I am looking forward to getting hold of one very soon. I can believe that I didn’t include the volume of the beeps in this video as I must admit I was surprised how quiet it was. As you said it must have been the extra protection that deadens the sound. The G-Shock GBD-200 is a larger square with vibrating alarm (plus some Bluetooth “smart” features that most people turn off). It’s nice looking (really nice display) but the 2 yr battery is holding me back.
Nice review! I have the previous version of this watch and I'm pretty sure it arrived in a similar matte black/gray. Over time though, it has darkened to a satin black, with I think looks better.

It is only a gripe for me as I have a weird wrist fitting hence why this watch is either a little too tight for total comfort or just a bit too loose for my liking. I have a few Gs. The 5610u is part of the collection and up there with my favorites but I had to go one up and got the GW-5000 1JF and that IS THE ONE TO RULE THEM ALL !
Funnily enough I have read another comment that has mentioned the same G-Shock GW-5000 digital watch. I will have to try and get hold of one in 2024 and hopefully have that ONE WATCH TO RULE THEM ALL! Cheers, Tony - WTA
I have the 5000 as well, the resin case and strap is far better, but the buttons are a bitch to press. The 5610 is the beater of the two. Its is an amazingly good value for money watch. Unbeatable quite honestly.
Took my watch back to Argos for a refund as in UK winter months the solar charge can be a problem as Not into keep having to remove watch to sit watch on a window sil to try to get a winter charge , which got on my nerves after a while
Without starting the video (no worries, i'll start it right away): OF COURSE IT'S ANY GOOD!!!!11! It's the perfect every day beater for the money. However, the watch is only surpassed by one other Casio in my collection: an upgraded Casio Royal AE-1200 in stainless steel and sapphire. Abolutely worth it.
Ha ha very true nearly all Casios are very good and the GW-M5610U is the perfect daily beater watch! The only exception for me was the Casio AEQ-110 where I found it a bit too busy for my liking but that is only in my humble opinion. I have just got hold of the AE-1200WH and I have to agree with you that is it simply stunning and I am looking forward to modding it in the new year! Thank you commenting and Merry Christmas!!! Cheers, Tony - WTA
Either version you get, you will be happy with. The month/date issue: The US standard order is better for those naming computer files: "year.month.date". It's just simple to glance down and see the correct order on your watch.
*Why is it that not a single UA-camr mentions the useless alarm on the Casio M5610U (all caps: USELESS)?* Why does the illumination turn off when any button is pressed? Why is there only one snoozeable alarm? Why aren’t there settings for WEEKDAY and WEEKEND alarms? Why can the hour chime be automatically silenced from 11:00 PM until the morning alarm? And why hasn’t an effective vibrate feature been added to this watch? *If they included these features, you’d have THE ONLY WATCH YOU NEED!*
I have mentioned about the woeful alarm on this watch but not in this video. Unfortunately it did slip my mind at the time to mention it but I did do another video about the alarm issue… ua-cam.com/video/JRdTBww3HqY/v-deo.html The rest of the stuff you question would be down to Casio to answer why. Cheers, Tony - WTA

I bought one a few months back, but unfortunately had to return it back the very next day. It's just way too small on my 7.5 inch wrist, and the proportions just don't look right. That being said it's still a fantastic G-Shock, and easily the best value model available.
I am afraid I can't help my accent but in short the Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U is a great watch overall and well worth adding to your collection. Cheers, Tony - WTA

Don't worry about the questions and I hope my answers help in some small way!

It's timeless. Great review
It is and the Casio GM-W5610U has a lot going for it in terms of features as well.

I have heard that the plastic lugs are a concern - that they are fragile. Is this a concern?
Any good? It’s the best all you need.
Very true!

That was a great overview - many thanks!!!
You are welcome and thank you for your very kind comment!!

Picking up the ae1200 when it’s back in stock on Wednesday as well
Looking forward to getting one myself, but I may get the resin banded version as opposed to the one with the metal bracelet from amazon, for a little bit more. Hope you enjoy yours!!

Any good? It's the only Gshock you'll never need !
Great Great watch, I think is the best G-Shock ever made and can go as far is the one and done watch!
I think it is a great watch also and the ideal watch that contains everything that you could ever need on your wrist.

I think it's hilarious that a $100 watch can outlast rolexes and omegas when it comes to toughness and durability And not to mention how more accurate it is.
Cheers,
Tony - WTA
Agreed I have the same GW5000 1JF Japanese domestic, it's worth the extra, and feels premium.
The 5000 costs 3x as much and its heavy and unnecessary for most people, plus it dosnt look as nice without the red stripe.

@@wetryanythingchannel And Merry Christmas to you too from Germany :-)
Casio Royale is great, but it lacks Tough Solar and Multi-band 6.
@@StardustLegacyFighter, and that‘s a shame :-)
Either version you get, you will be happy with. The month/date issue: The US standard order is better for those naming computer files: "year.month.date". It's just simple to glance down and see the correct order on your watch.
I remember getting sweat under watches with plastic wristbands, is this also the case with this watch ?
I don't notice it but the beauty of a plastic strap is that you can give it a good wash.
*Why is it that not a single UA-camr mentions the useless alarm on the Casio M5610U (all caps: USELESS)?*
Why does the illumination turn off when any button is pressed?
Why is there only one snoozeable alarm?
Why aren’t there settings for WEEKDAY and WEEKEND alarms?
Why can the hour chime be automatically silenced from 11:00 PM until the morning alarm?
And why hasn’t an effective vibrate feature been added to this watch?
*If they included these features, you’d have THE ONLY WATCH YOU NEED!*
I have mentioned about the woeful alarm on this watch but not in this video. Unfortunately it did slip my mind at the time to mention it but I did do another video about the alarm issue…

The rest of the stuff you question would be down to Casio to answer why.

Лучшие часы которые придумали и сделали в Casio👍💪🇷🇺
Great watch
Does the watch synchronize the time to Algeria automatically?
Just synchronise on PAR (Paris) . The hour is the same to France .
Very cool watch!!!👍👍👍
Very nice review. Thanks
Thanks for watching and for your very kind comment!

Hi, could you tell the difference between 5610-U-1ER (the one u showed) and U-1JF?
I am afraid I can't correctly advise the difference between the two but if you have a look via a Google search from what I can see there are a few forums discussing the differences.
Hope it helps!
Cheers,
Tony - WTA
Pretty sure the 1jf is the negative display version
@@GotSawst is 5610 slightly bigger than the 5600(non multiband type)
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love mine too beste G ever ❤
I have mine🎉
It needs a cage on it to make it look ‘tougher’…👍🏾😉🇬🇧👍🏿
£79.99 from Argos!! That's around €95. I'd have been all over that. It's a pity Argos has closed in Ireland.
It was a great price, hence why I had to jump on it. Argos offer some great deals on Casios from time to time and I am sorry that they are not in Ireland any more.

@@wetryanythingchannel Mine just arrived in the door today. €127. Looks great though!
3 months later..... got one for £74.99, Argos
Reverse inflation! Deflation
5000U is the newest and best.. Metal screw back
The G-Shock GW-5000U on the list to try out hopefully in 2024 and it will be interesting to see how it compares the to the GW-M5610U.
Cheers,
Tony - WTA
In that price range the 5610U is definetely the best.
But the 5000U is a great watch of course.
The heavy weight of the 5000 must feel nice. I really want it but can’t afford it right now
Of course it’s good
Ha ha very true, the Casio GW-M5610U is a great watch!!

I bought one a few months back, but unfortunately had to return it back the very next day.
It's just way too small on my 7.5 inch wrist, and the proportions just don't look right.
That being said it's still a fantastic G-Shock, and easily the best value model available.
Terrorist stole his microphone, send money quick!
I must admit that I am starting to look into better microphones, hopefully get one very soon!

Just buy a garmin instinct and you get all of the functions and more...
I am G shocked but I am not from the UK and its hard to understand this Guy.
I am afraid I can't help my accent but in short the Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U is a great watch overall and well worth adding to your collection.
Cheers,
Tony - WTA
@@wetryanythingchannel I got a new g shock exact this model. The only G shock what i need. For 105 bucks.
My brother take care off your fingers and nails
That's what you got out of this? Why did you waste your time?
Will it fit on a 8.5 inch wrist?
I am not really that sure. It may be worth visiting a shop that sells the Casio GW-M5610U to see if you can try it on for size.

It takes 1min to state the differences in the module you are lazy dude why review if you cant say that
