Yes, get up there! And if the wind howls and puts down the bugs/surface activity, just put the wind at your back and launch weighted leech streamers and wait for the tug!
Awesome scene of the two fighter jets flying over. The coolest memory my brother and I have are two F-18s zooming up Elevenmile Canyon while we were fly fishing.
Great spot I was at that same lake in July and the wind was HOWLING and they were getting ready to spawn so a tough day on the water!!! Still managed to catch one in the inlet.
Good intel that the spawn is still on up there in July. Sorry the fishing wasn't more "on" when you went, but glad it wasn't a skunk! Makes me think August to mid Sept for when I inevitably return haha.
Man I'm 54 .disabled vet. I've fished many high altitude lakes. I had to leave Colorado as I'm at 58% lung capacity now from chemical weapons exposure. Go get um Fellas. I love the videos and remember hiking up to fish lakes and streams. Enjoy it while you can. Semper Fi
I've been fishing that lake for over 40 years and it has always produced fish like that. I was up there last year and it didn't disappoint. However, it is getting more fishermen including guided trips from local shops 🙁. Thank you for not posting where exactly you are but your title narrows it down significantly and a short portion of your video, in the beginning, shows a land mark that any savvy google mapper could identify.
Yes -- send me an email at the email address in my profile and I can certainly help you with a couple spots. They will even be fishable for the next 5 weeks if you want to hit them this year.
Thanks for the tip! I have had some great luck on other lakes this summer with foam ants of varying sizes. Got a really nice one in the James Peak on a big red one.
This spot is on my list for this year. Great to hear the fishing was great. Thanks for sharing!

Two jets going over in a canyon like that would be unbelievable…
I camp and fish up there a couple of times a year. Love it. Good job guys!
Awesome video man. I lived in BV for a while and went up some 14ers out there. Never fished those high mountain lakes though. Impressive!
Get out there!! Some of those lakes have some reallllly cool species and some bigger fish. That area around BV and Salida is so cool!

yahoo-Thanks- what a perfect view, =))
Would a stock 4runner make it up there? August is my favorite alpine month
I would feel confident in that, yup.

Google lens...
Awesome video do you think I would make it with my 2019 jeep renegade?
Personally, I would park it at the 4WD trail-start and then hike it. The hike is not too intense.
Which lake is this?
Hey, nice video, I live near Denver Colorado and fly fish every weekend, do u know of any cutthroat spots within an hour of Denver?
Yes -- send me an email at the email address in my profile and I can certainly help you with a couple spots. They will even be fishable for the next 5 weeks if you want to hit them this year.
Thanks for not sharing the location.
Flying ants work great in the fall up there. Even stingey 27 inch cutthroats will hit them
Awesome video
