This one hit hard!! Canada (and the World) has lost a music icon!! Myles you will be sorely missed, but your music will live on!! Rest in Peace my friend!!
RIP Myles Goodwyn. You and April Wine were a huge part of the soundtrack of my teens. Rock on in heaven my man, and "Say Hello" to all the other rock Gods for me. We'll meet again someday.
@@ebrena1876yep, all of us old rockers know that Myles and the boys always kicked ass. Pure rock n roll all the way.... RIP Myles and thank you for all the decades of greatness 😢😢😢😢😢
Rest In Peace, you fantastic talented soul. Thank you for the music you wrote which became a soundtrack to my life. From "You Won't Dance with Me" onwards... we shall miss you
Same as me in july 1973 at the Memorial Garden in New Brunswick at the Salmon festival for my 18 years old and the was Ian Anderson as the first part. Ho what a night....
Most of us never get to meet our favourite musicians which is why I always found it strange to hear about fans crying and upset when one dies. Well now I understand. I’ve seen April Wine play many times, never had the opportunity to meet any band members. I have so many fond memories associated with their shows. When I heard the news yesterday it was like a gut punch. For those of us of a certain age it’s also a reminder time is running short. RIP Myles. Thank you for the many memories
Yes, Friend, for us old fans our time is indeed running short and Myles's passing is harsh evidence of it. Saw A.W. at the Arnprior Fair in about 2008. Just a great show. Hard to believe that's already 15 years ago.
April Wine was a huge part of my teen years from 1978 until the 80's and beyond. Voice and band still sounds awesome! Thank you for the music ....which we can all still enjoy!!
Myles, may you rest in peace and fly with the angels up high! Your music with April Wine was a big part of teenage years in NS. I thank you! Condolences to the Goodwyn family.
As someone who grew up in the Halifax area in the 70's, a new April Wine album was an event like a new Black Sabbath or Grand Funk LP. I went to all the concerts and followed the band closely for many years. Thanks for all the great tunes Myles.
I had every 8 track tape & then every cassette (had to repurchase all my 8 tracks), up till “Sign of the Gypsy Queen “. Then having to get all the CD’s. I still have some cassettes & CD’s, but you can hear April Wine most anytime on radio. Harder Faster sounds awesome on my Raycons.
Man. Shit. I just saw him with band in summer in North Bay .!!! So glad I went . Amazing voice and talent . Canadian 🇨🇦and world worthy artist of great songs . This is really tough . He had announced only a few more shows . And I have seen numerous interviews since stepping back , but no mention of any real issues . Damn. We are losing so many greats . Sad
I first saw Myles and April Wine back in the early 1970's twice at the old barn Halifax Forum and then years after at the Ingraham Hotel pub in Victoria. Myles RIP, keep heaven rocking.
I was supposed to see them in early 2020, Covid hit and cancelled the show. It was never rescheduled, would've been my 1st & only time seeing them live. My deepest condolences to his family, and friends for their loss. RIP Myles 🙏
One of the great voices and songwriters of Rock! Canadian or otherwise, he was great. I used to hear April Wine on FM 📻 Radio years ago played constantly. I didn’t even know they were from Canada 🇨🇦. I always liked the Guess Who and I knew they are Canadian. Let me say this: Canadians are good, decent and kind people! And they like to have a good time with good music and April Wine! 🍷 RIP Are the good times over now! God, I hope not!
April wine in its entirety has always been one to be reckoned with they have spanned decades of killer Rock music .. great emotional ballads..did awesome cover tunes such as ..tell me why . I just wanna make love to you .. 21 st century schizoid man .. I love April wine and am a huge fan .. Myles is and always will be a music icon .. if only I'd got to see them perform in Cincinnati just months ago but unfortunately I missed the chance but their music will live on full force in my heart forever .
I seen these guys when they first made it . Back I believe in 79 or 80 . They played in the St. Louis checker dome . They were the opening band for Styx . The come sail away days . April wine. Blew Styx away . People loved. them . My younger brother had A April Wine cassette. he never stopped playing . Lord ! Lady’s. Man and 21 st. Century schizoid man
I was there brother at the old arena checkerdome. KSHE classics also loved prism. You may be a little too young but in the early seventies we had Rush open up for Charlie Daniels at the KSHE kite fly contest with 80,000 people in attendance. And then there were the super jams at Busch Stadium with Gypsy Ted Nugent Styx Jeff Beck Jefferson Starship ECT St Louis was an awesome City to grow up in for music thanks to KSHE. I also saw Emerson Lake and Palmer in 1971 at the old Arena Bowling Alley right next door to the checkerdome which was called The Arena at the time😅
I will always remember seeing April Wine for the 1st time at QE11 high in Halifax in June of 1974. They did 2 shows that evening and recorded their 1st live album. What a thrill it was as a teenager to have been part of that. I've seen them a few times after that and as always, they were great shows. Myles you will be missed.
My friends and l, all in our 60's now have been sending April Wine videos back and forth every nite after work all week long. Somehow it seems therapeutic. He had a voice that was instantly recognisable and he left us with a catalogue of iconic tunes that we will always love to play and sing along with him and I'm sure April Wine fans everywhere are saying, "yeah l like to rock". So long Myles, RIP brother, you will not be forgotten 🎸🎶💖
Many hours spent crusin' in my buddies '58 Chevy listen to "Electric Jewels"....on 8 track😎 More than the occasional beer was enbibed! RIP Myles, thanks for memories and good times.
