I am always amazed at the generosity of jewelry makers on UA-cam. I'm sure you lead a busy life, yet you take the time to make wonderful tutorials like this. Thank you so much!
Hi Oxana . I have to tell you I have watched all of your wire wrapping videos. Every video is awesome . I have been working with wire for about a year. Finally your videos have pushed me on my way ..The most helpful was the wire wrapped gemstone pendant. I just could not figure out how to have different patterns without changing or adding wire. I'm so excited to have this information to share with my beading friends . You are fabulous for someone that wants to work with wire but doesn't have the mind for it. Also one of the wire companies I buy from is on Ebay. Modern findings .they are great and you get a lot of wire for cheap. Hard ,soft, half hard etc. . I also buy sterling wire from another supplier on Ebay.. Ive gone thru the tool thing as well .lol..Thank you so much for sharing.
Oxana, I want to let you know. This simple video has taught me how to do a pretty wirewrap. I have been so sad I could not get it and then I watched this video. And blam. At least I can do this one. I want to thank you. Thank you so much.
Oh my gosh! What a fantastic tutorial!!! This is the most detailed one I've seen yet for something so intricate. Thanks for sharing this. I can't wait to try this out.
Wow, I can't tell you how inspired I was after watching this tutorial you are amazing. I felt so relaxed and really learnt so much from you. I am going out to buy some wire, thank you so much I just want to create something. Thank you for sharing your talent.
having watched dozens of jewelry videos, which is how I am learning this trade, I have to say that your video is not only informative, clear and easy to follow, as well as not boring (and believe me, some of them just draaaaaggggg on), but the end result is stunning! For future videos, I would suggest trying to keep the object in the field of vision more, which having not made one of these before I can't imagine how difficult it could be. But that's my only suggestion. Other than that....well done! And thank you!!
You sure are very good motivation and sound so relax while making the pendant thank you for sharing I'm going to try to make a few of them see how it turns out thank you I'm moving on to learn more about wiring don't no much but you are a motivation I would like to learn more I like it
Really clearly explained and demonstrated. For your first video tutorial I say you knocked it out of the park and you know what happens when you practice a thing long enough. If I might just say based on my own needs, it would be very helpful to have a guestimate for lengths of wire you're using on a given piece. Also distances you start wraps on your (upcoming, new video tutorials) projects. I'm always a bit afraid I'm going to possibly cut myself short when I'm not sure how far up a piece of base wire I should start... anyway I ramble. Your video was great and I have added it to my library. Thanks! Terri
Terri Barmore Thank you! Glad you liked it. And thank you for the feedback. I did say for the thicker wire to use 7 inch pieces, and for thinner I just keep it on the spool as I work so I am not limited to any particular length, makes it a bit easier.
well...this is my 2nd go at your wrapping......not alot like yours....for some reason the most wire i need for at ends....is always the wrong end....but i just adapted my mistake...but lets just say...your heaps heaps better.....but for me...im happy...Thank you so much for showing us how to do these......your the Best.........hugssssssssss
That clamp would help my hands hold the wire. I never did anything fancy with wire because I have a hard time feeling it in my hands. That clamp idea will help so thank you.
Fantastic tutorial! I watched the whole thing, it was fascinating. I featured your necklaces and tutorial in my November Favorites video I just posted. Your work is beautiful...I can now look at my necklaces and see these techniques you applied. :)
Vonnie Truscott Thank you! I just recently posted another tutorial for a simpler pendant as well, and I plan to have another new tutorial up this weekend! :)
Hi Oxana, at the 5:25 mark you decided to "unravel" some of the wire you used in the basket weave set-up for your stone. Doesn't this make the wire brittle? How do you compensate for that?
I want to Thankyou.! Your tutorial was excellent for me learning the art of wire wrapping. I watched it 3 times and made 2 and I am really proud of it and its all thanks to you..this would have been more clear if you had some kind of color in the background as that wall paper is too white. I noticed you even put your hand behind it at times so you know what I mean...Please ...you must be able to....Thanks Oxana.! Keep up the good work. Do you have any more videos and could you tell me how to get to them if you do...I don't know internet well. And, if you don't sell them you should...start right here as you could sell many.
@cinnamongirlx1- I am really not sure, I have only sold a couple to like friends and family, I usually charge $25-$30 depending on the price of the stone.
cinnamongirlx1 i would generally give myself about $10/hour + price of materials when pricing as a beginner. If I put 5 hours into a wrap and used $20 worth of stones and wire, I'd charge about $70. I have friends who sell their intricate wraps for hundreds but they're putting around 25-30 hours into each piece.
+Oxana124 Gurl you gotta start selling these full time! You straight up gettin insane with the wire wrapping- super intricate and shit! Get down wit yo bad self!
Hi, where do you get the stones with the hole in them like that? any stones with drilled holes that I find are from bottom to top, not through the whole pendant like that--i cant find one with it drilled like yours anywhere
I love the tutorials! What an amazing talent. Is there a trick to keeping the 20 Guage wire straight? Do they sell it in straight strands or just by roll? I can't keep the straight?
It is very soft and flexible and you should just be able to straighten it with your fingers. Make sure that you have dead-soft, if you are having a hard time straightening it, perhaps you have half-hard? You can also run it through some nylon pliers to help straighten
i know this is an old video and you might not see my comment. I've used those clamps before and found they leave a deep gouge in the wire. has this happened to you too?
Hello, I am french, I would like to know the size of the cabochon, the size and the lengh of the wire.. Thank's. Can you write it as under title. It's easier for me.
+DanyK Créations It is a bead not cabochon, about 20-25mm. The base wire is 20 gauge and 7 inches, and the weaving wire is 28 gauge and I do not cut it, I just keep it on the spool as I weave, so I do not know measurement for that one.
Candy Marie Webb Sorry, I have only done this with beads. If you look up "wire wrap cabachon" here on youtube some videos should come up on how to wire wrap something with no hole in it.
Country Girl I have sold a few to friend and family, but I don't regularly sell them or have a shop because I don't make all that many that I don't want to keep for myself :) It is real hard to juggle everything while still trying to spend a little time on my interests, I don't know how I do it :)
I am struggling because my hands shake too much - Maybe this is meant for people that have worked in the jewellery trade for 10+years. Lovely but simply too advanced for me.
Bob Rozich well we have a different definition of precision i guess. I studied arts in Japan, maybe there's a reason Japanese are considered to have the best craftsmanship in the world
olfursson kyllian It is ok, I do not expect my work to be on par with professional artists. I just started doing this as a hobby less than a year ago. I taught myself by looking at pictures of wirewrap jewelry online and trying to figure out how they were done. I have never taken any lesson on jewelry making. I was actually surprised with the lack of videos and tutorials on wirewrapping online(although there are more now, which is great!), and so I decided to make videos to help others get started as well on this wonderful and fun art!

Vervainandrue Thank you! I hope to make more tutorials soon :)
me, my mom, and daughter sat down to this video twice and have made 2 pendants each....this is by far our favorite wire wrap video....thanks

@Nico Rowle - they usually come in a strand. You can find them in craft stores, on Etsy, or on Ebay. Search for "coin gemstone bead". Hope that helps!

Hi Oxana, at the 5:25 mark you decided to "unravel" some of the wire you used in the basket weave set-up for your stone. Doesn't this make the wire brittle? How do you compensate for that?
MsOscara It can if you do it a lot, but just unraveling the wire one time usually doesn't create any problems for me.
muy bonito..me encanto.beautiful.tkanks
Exquisite! I hope my technique will be this wonderful one day :)
Pamela Boswell Thank you very much! I am sure it will be :)

Lovely video but do you realize that it sometimes goes off viewing site?

that7s a little messy and lacks precision to my opinion but the design is interesting
I don't know how much more precision she could get.
It's amazing work!
Bob Rozich well we have a different definition of precision i guess. I studied arts in Japan, maybe there's a reason Japanese are considered to have the best craftsmanship in the world
olfursson kyllian Elitist much? She's making her art, and you make/study yours. She didn't ask for critique so there's no point in giving any.
