As always, I enjoyed your presentation. I do wish you had included information on the current royal family. I understand that they are very well liked.
@@brandonburrell8517I've been to Thailand which is very similar, it's stunningly beautiful but desperately poor. Women from there marry sad old men they've never met just to get the golden ticket, life in a western country. How sad.
I'm Brazilian and I'll probably never visit Europe. That's why I love these videos. They allow me to travel without moving and appreciate cities that are very different from the one I live in.
I think you'd enjoy Portugal. Spent a week there and met a lot of Brazilians. Mostly Uber drivers and restaurant workers, but they were enjoying themselves.
I'm a dual citizen and have lived in Denmark for the past 3 years but on the Jutland peninsula, starting next semester I'll be studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and it's just hitting me now "omg I'm gonna be living somewhere that was on a Rick Steves episode"
That's really cool. I guess I feel similar. I moved to the Netherlands for university and I'm in Amsterdam. I'm thinking for my masters about going to the university in Copenhagen. It looks really nice there.
It's interesting to see Rick's travelogues. He lives in the places he visits. He absorbs the city, meets local guides, and studies the place until he's really a part of it, not just someone detached. It's a great way to travel. It's for the experience, not just a tick on a bucket list.
I have to go over to southern Sweden for business every couple of years. I always plan a weekend in Copenhagen before heading back to the US. Always a lovely time-out. Very friendly people too.
Nederlands and Danmark must be two of the most similar countries on earth, not just on the literal level (north-germanic language, low-lying, trade history) but also on more poetic ones (like how people cling to their bicycles).
Yes of course I've been there, I live in Norway... Theres some very nice forests but nothing iconic or specifically unique OTHER then the urban sprawls and islands.
My grandpa’s parents lived outside of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand but moved to Copenhagen in 1890 for better work opportunities before finally leaving for America. Grandpa returned and lived there for three years. He missed it so much. After watching this program and the one about the rest of Denmark I can understand why he did and why it was important for him to instill in us his family a love for Denmark and all things Danish. Thank you for these wonderful shows.🙏🇩🇰
I can assure you it is. Nice and safe. My teenage daughter occasionally takes a late night stroll when she needs some fresh air alone. She will often go to the pars near the "Strøget" the pedestrian street. It's perfectly safe at any time.

I was in 2 minds about visiting Copenhagen next month, but Rick Steves' charming review just inspired me to book it. As the man says: 'Keep on travelling!'
people do make money being on tv and from selling their writings or if the writing is for a magazine or newspaper. But in the beginning its more expensive, after that if your making money for said job than its a bit cheaper.
For me Europe is the most beautiful continent with lots of history , including Asia also. I'm Albanian and I would like to visit Denmark and Copenhagen :) I also have a great Danish friend.
Copenhagen was our last destination after 2 months travelling around Europe from March to June 2017. Its really nice to see this video now and find out that we actually did well and we have visited almost all touristic points you have mentioned and discovery a little more about the history of this friendly city. Great job :-) !!!
Copenhagen looks a nice city to visit clean style of architecture a plate that friends would agree is a plaster well worth a visit. Thanks Rick for your tour of this city.
The band at Tivoli sounds cool. I've wondered for years who that was, and I finally set my mind to it and figured it out. It's TURBOWEEKEND - After Hours. In case someone else is curious.
No wonder the locals are so happy, they truly have the best of both rural and urban living, it's the best balance of the two I've ever experienced at least!
It is good to see the older couple in the background (17:43). In Norway we say: "Old love will never be rusty". Today, disagreements over differences such as how to use a toothpaste tube (a little excessive), lead to divorce. Many young people talk about that the chemistry have to be the same. By that, many think that the other must be completely like me, which is impossible to achieve. Learn to live with the other's small mistakes, and think about what you can do for the other, not what he or she can do for you. If it is about large problems, wait for both to be calm (not excited), then talk peacefully together. Feel free to start the conversation with what you could have done better. Have a happy marriage!
