Those trucks at 4:11 are Avia. Althrough i'm not sure what type it exactly is, the entire line, which was A15/A20 and A30 series, were produced in Czechoslovakia under license purchased from French company named Saviem.
One of curiosities we have- one of Road administrations in eastern Slovakia has still functioning ZIL Moska truck (it was made in 50ties) for cleaning roads from snow. Its not used regularly (coz there are newer trucks), only when we have serious snow calamity, which is not every year. And if its so cold, that newer trucks won't start their engines, this Zil always starts.
Yeeeeeah. Finally. I'm always watching out when you'll make videos about Slovakia. Makes me so happy. Coz there are many about Czechs but not Slovaks. Maybe you should also have a look at Hungary....also since I live in Austria, I'm about to watch the video you released a moment ago. (Many people in Central EU speak multiple languages, have parents and roots from 2 or 3 countries and live in 4th one. Haha. So makes me happy to watch videos about more than just 1 country. And not just Germany. Some Americans talk all the time about Germany as if it was the only country in EU. Lol😂 P.S. there are many very interesting facts about SK.
Hasičské dni = "Firefighter Days" (as in, annual celebratory days for the profession, including fire engine showcases and fire engine ) A hasičská stanica is a "firehouse" in a city or town. A hasičská zbrojnica, literally "firemen/fire-fighter armoury", is a rural, village firefighter house (especially of a rural volunteer firefighter unit). The term for firemen/firefighters in Slovakia was traditionally "hasiči" ("water-dousers"), and then for a number of decades "požiarnici" ("fire-quellers"), until it reverted back to "hasiči" in official parlance since the beginning of the 21st century. The "armoury" part of the term comes from the fact that rural firehouses (in particular) were primarily storages of firefighting equipment and gear, the "panoply" of a fireman, you could say. One of the tiniest rural firehouses I've seen in the country was in a video of a tourist visiting the famous hamlet of Vlkolínec north of Ružomberok: ua-cam.com/video/H26-377RKSI/v-deo.html Yep, it's just that tiny little house with an office and a garage big enough for a single firefighting Landrover and some firefighting gear. Smallest fire armoury with a garage I've seen to date, at any rate. :-)) One village near a town of my relatives has an even smaller one, but that one's just a glorified storehouse for firefighter gear. Some of those oldie (1950s/1960s) fire engines and fire trucks (Pragas, older Tatras) are still in use, mainly due to being well-built for some heavy-duty roles, but they're being increasingly decommissioned in favour of more modern vehicles. Most of the current fire engines and other firefighter vehicles are contemporary models nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the older fire engines and fire trucks were kept only as historical showcase vehicles, including for these annual public showcase rides. The flag is of the firefighter departments, yeah. :-) Note the firefighter axes on the outside of the main emblem at the centre.
First video is from city called Martin and I think this was organized by Museum of Firefighters in Martin-Priekop4a (Priekopa is part of the city) they have like this Joyride around the city where they show different types of firefighting equipment they show old and new tech and there can be also other FD in there to show of their equipment and for the flag you saw on the Iveco its flag of Dobrovoľná požiarna ochrana SR (Voluntary fire protection of the Slovak Republic) - DPO SR for short its besicly its flag for Union of voluntary firefighters
We use tractors, wheel loaders, bobcats, excavators in cases like avalanches, landslide, earthquakes, floods and buildings and structures collapsed due to natural disasters mentioned above or structural integrity or explosion (intentional or disaster)
When Czechoslovakia split, Slovakia definitely got the better end of the bargain where mountains are concerned. The mountains in Slovakia are quite varied and larger compared to the mountains in the Czech Republic. I took a sight seeing flight over the Tatras a year or so ago and it was increadible seeing them from above like that.
7:44 If it has passed the technical and emission inspection and has a plate registered with the police, it can go on the road + it still has to go at least 60km/h otherwise it is not allowed so as not to delay the traffic, even an ordinary person can ride a quad bike if it meets these requirements
For small cars, firefighters in Slovakia are responsible for fire prevention, building inspection, trainings etc. then such cars are used. And all old vehicles are used by voluntary firefighters. Even small villages have volunteers and they help state firefighters. Nobody will use them in industrial and high-rise fires but in case of floods, grass and fields fire they are trained for it.
btw this show happened in city called Martin (yes same as quite common male name in Slovakia), which is (from US perspective) quite close to Tatra Mountains (about 120km away)
