your videos have helped me and my furry babies so much! I've only been watching for a few days now and already the communication between us is so much better. I am discovering how smart my dogs are and I'm so proud!! I find training them so enjoyable and I'm really bonding with my puppy really well, he's been stressing us out with his destructive behavior but now with training he's becoming such a good boy! keep up the good work :)

Siin0o same. My dog (which is actually not even mine, he’s my brothers) is way too big for me and he drags me so when I try to slow him down he chokes but otherwise he would make me fall/he would run away if I let go.
This is great! I absolutely abhor pinch or electric collars😡🤬🤬 patience! If you don’t have any, then get help. A trainer can help YOU understand what the dog is thinking or Why it’s behavior is occurring
Frustration is my weakness. I have 0 patience, I just want to enjoy walking with my dog but it always ends up with me being angry (I know its my fault) I get pulled left and right, And i end up ending the walk ten minutes into it becuase it becomes impossible and embarassing. I realize I just jumped into it and had high expectations that he would do it straight away when he is only a puppy and its our first time. Now I know its me who is causing the frustration, these videos are saving my life.
If you want to not have your dog pull u just need to put a easy walk harness or slip lead and with the slip lead you give a meaningful correction turn around then steps backwards and teach your the difference between heal and free you teach them heal by putting your dog into the position with a treat and when they pull on the leash when they are in a heel if they pull you give them a firm correction walk and to make your dog pay attention to you on a walk make it weird for your dog do this thing I call the box which is where you out of nowhere are walking your dog and bam you turn and if he is not following your body with the turn correct him until you can you can turn four times with your dog following you that is how I have trained all my dogs hope this helps(:
I have same problem but my dog is so hyper about walking he doesn’t care about treats, toys or the person walking him. Just pissing on bushes and chasing after other dogs. It’s impossible to get his attention while walking. Any advice?
bawahahahha It worked it fucking worked?!?!! I've had my dog for a year and every time she almost takes my damn arm off, this actually helped. 2 weeks in and she doesn't snatch or pull I am now down to teaching her to stay close, instead of just struggling to keep her on the leash. Knowing how she love(d) to pull me and slip free of her leash, this video may very well have saved my dogs life. Thanks a thousand times over!
Hey everyone, the greatest info that i've ever had was by using the Bevs Booster Guide (i found it on google) - without a doubt the most helpful treatment that I have ever tried.
I have been using this ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU as a handy reference book. I read through the book and enjoyed the little glimpses of examples. I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of...."how simple why didn't I think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!
Zak, As a Master Dog Trainer who had worked at some of the largest training kennels in the country I have found you to be one of the best trainers on the internet. I no longer train not simply because of my age but also because of the progressive nature of many of my diseases and injuries. At the time when I was training 60 dogs a month, the methods I used were considered to be the most human and advanced; however, by today standard that are far less dog tolerant. Thank you for the great videos you offer and training owners which makes forever homes much more likely. A funny story I would like to share, My wife was walking a dog that had been trained to find drugs. One of the neighbors asked my wife why the dog sat every time and "howled" when walking past his house. She said she had no idea, but that the dog had been trained as a drug detection dog and perhaps something around the man's house triggered the response. The same day, the man had a Rented Truck at his home and was moving out. lol Thanks again for the knowledge you share.
Dude you must be so experienced working with dogs!! If you don't mind how do I train an abused dog who gets scared and lunges at everyone?. Her ex owner was an asshole and wild take his anger out on her. I don't know how to explain it but she gets frustrated and tries to bite my face off, if i sit on the floor she'll try and bite, not lick. I don't know what to do :(
I literally tried this when we went for a walk he was quickly learning and literally pulled me like twice. Holy shit, never thought it would work so fast
We don't realize what we do without thinking. Yay for you!! I just didn't want my dog to pull so hard she would run away and get hurt!! We had an older dog that never gave us a problem! So it's hard for me to adjust to this new little personality!!
Dude I don’t even know how to thank you. I have been dreading walking my little puppy each day because of his excessive pulling. It has been so stressing for both me and my puppet. It took me not even an hour to teach him to walk properly with your method, I’m completely speechless. I thank you so much for making the great content you make and for making it free for us to watch, thank you thank you thank you!
I love the fact that you said how positive training is not just training a command but teaching your dog to THINK. That is exactly how I feel with the dogs from the shelter I work at. Those dogs are so intelligent, it's a shame people just try to violently push them into behaviors and thereby suppress all their intellect and character.
Zak your videos are NOT long it is perfect, people just want to jump into something instead of learning up to what they need to know. I love the way you break down everything down to the T.
Dude, no kidding. My dog is a 2 month old pup. He learned to answer to his name, walk with a leash and sit on a single day after I saw one of your videos. I'm impressed. Subing immidiatly. u have my like
Really helpful video.... great trainer. Showing how you actually work with the dog was brilliant! I really want to help my dog and focus on what he does right, but I get so frustrated when I don't know what to do.
I just stomp those bitches. Ever since my father left me to my own devices in the Russian Taiga with a plastic spoon and a food stamp, which were common back in Soviet Cuba, I learned that these majestic creatures respond well to foot induced pain. It's crazy to think that what Trump, Hilary and Cruz is good, but applying rapid pressure through a heavy 50lbs leg is bad. I mean, really, my father might have been a dead beat alcoholic that dragged me by my undersized human harness, but at least he taught me the importance of leash and crate training early on. We didn't even have a dog. Bush + Jews = 9/11.
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover obedience training dog try Magonsi Clever Canine Expert (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got great results with it.

1st day inside and normal block by our house..pulling.90% of the time. 2nd day..a hiking trail wit ppl.n other dogs. Pulling 75% time. 3rd day normal blocks we walk. Only pulling 15% of the time! Im so happy! Thank You so much!!! I feel like he is really getting it...cant wait for spring hikes!
Since nobody's saying it. People this youtuber is nice enough to display some positive reinforcement just like many other people who work with dogs. Agility trainers, Cesar Millian (with his mixtures of positive punishment) can we all agree that we should be all encompassing and try to figure out which methods work best for our loved one?
Wait, an intelligent, open-minded comment on youtube? You must have the wrong website. But seriously, I agree wholeheartedly. Everyone should try a few different methods on their dog and find which one works best. (But then the important thing is to stay consistent after you choose one.)
I agree. When I train my dogs I like to watch some trainers who use positive reinforcement and then depending on my dogs temperament I will use the training methods that seem to fit them.
What breed is the puppy?I have always wanted a puppy and at 15 they let me get a puppy but my mom didn't like dogs and my dad didn't like dogs either then I fell in love with labradors and did all the research I could do and after two months of nonstop begging and showing how great a dog is we finally ordered one his name is max and we got him at 8 weeks old and boy oh boy was he a handfull and now he is one years old and fully trained and my emotional support dog and this dog has changed our lives and my mom and dad love him to death dogs are amazing creatures remember to treat them with respect like you would treat a friend and learn to understand their body language just saying if u want a better dog trainer than zach George witch is trash and can't even train his own dogs how to walk on a leash u want a better dog trainer search up Victoria stillwell on ehow pets and she will teach you all you need to know about training your dog and also give upstate k9 academy a try I hope this helps
@@ivanalfonso8177 Very odd to plug a different dog trainer AND insult the trainer on this channel in one little comment. Everything else you said was perfectly positively reinforcing and then you suddenly call Zach TRASH? Wtf is wrong with you? Is that you, Victoria?
@@interdimensionalsteve8172 i dont even watch victoria anymore i dont train positive only because that shit doesnt work. You can litteraly see it in all his videos.
@@ivanalfonso8177 It does work - on certain dogs. The PROBLEM is that it takes a long, long time to train this way. You can either spend three weeks nailing down walking right on the leash with pops (or "pulses") and treat-fest and everything else, or you can throw a prong on there and have it done in two days. I prefer the slow burn, though I admit with SOME dogs that's just impossible and will never work. I have a feeling if somebody brought Zach a nasty aggressive mean son of a b*tch, he'd either refer them elsewhere OR jump right to the prong. - Respect trainers for their strengths, and try not to tear them down just because YOU think their methods don't work. This channel is very popular and I constantly see comments saying "This worked for my pup!"... so it works for them. Be nice is all I'm saying :))
Love this. Been training my standard poodle for 7 years, she still pulls. Will incorporate your wisdom TODAY! I'd also like to see the video in training from a distance rather than tricks. You suggested a vote, that's mine. Thank you.
@@steliospapoutsakis4264 Nice that you care enough to ask. As this was 5 years ago, my beautiful girl crossed the rainbow bridge 11/29/21. As my girl pulled HORRIBLY despite any & all training - I got a prong collar - they're controversial - but I made sure the one I got came with little rubber nibs to put on the tips of the prongs - so it didn't hurt her - I'd NEVER have done any training that caused discomfort. She & I enjoyed walks more with this on - she never pulled and she seemed to like the boundary set for her NOT to be able to pull. It was humane, trust me - way more humane that allowing her to pull and the damage that would do to her neck alignment & trachea. I did try ALL the other 'training collars' - many people try different things, and it's different for everyone. Each dog is an individual and they must be treated as such. Never a one size fits all with food OR training. BTW - raw feeding is easier than you think - I never knew this when my girl was alive and learned all too late that even the best kibble is NOT "real food" - all living beings need REAL food. You may ask me again about this on FaceBook (under the same name)
His method (combined with our local trainer) has helped our dog extremely, who was not trained in anything except to potty outside. . She now walks almost perfectly, waits patiently, doesn't bark. One year in positive training, she has come a long way.
i am in a family of 6, the rest of my family completely spoil the dog, she jumps on everything knocking shit over and she gets praised for it, she also tugs on the lead and yet again gets away with it, im the only one trying to teach her to behave, so i just take her on the types of walks she loves, but every time i feel the slightest pull i stop and discipline her for a bit. I also reward her if she goes on a full walk with out tugging (or maybe just 1 or 2 little tugs), but i find this an effective technique and reduces tugging on the first walk you do using this technique, she forgets every thing when it comes to the second walk, but do it again, eventually it gets in there head not to tug.
I don't normally comment on vids but this one was super helpful - MUCH more helpful than anything I've read in a book or on the web. Would be great to see more walking videos for dogs with different temperaments (I.E. a shy, timid dog like mine who also pulls). It's great to know that tugging back on the leash isn't the only option to correct them.
i love how his videos are so real. Obviously the dog isn't going to be a perfectly trained dog because it is only the beginning. But Zak here always shows real progress on dogs that are just like any other dog who has not been trained very well.
Every time I watch your videos I am further encouraged and inspired to invest in the patient task of training my puppy. We've made so much progress but as you say still have weeks of consistency left. Thank you for your motivating guidance!
Fantastic video and tips! Feels good and refreshing to see someone with real training skills that knows and cares about dogs, very hard to find under the flood of bad trainers out there that are still stuck in the 80's!
I just want to say that I love your way of training dogs! You make sense to me, and you treat the dogs with respect and love, while you teach them to obey you. So great to see, instead of the dog trainers who insist on using more brutal methods. THANK YOU!
I just want to say somewhere that I lost my dog a week ago. I've done everything to try to find her. But she's gone. I just about had her trained. Some things still needed work, but most she was very good at. She loved training time and so did I. She was an American Bully/Boxer/Lab. And she just turned a year old. I've never known a smarter more gentle dog.
That shirt though. Too good. "...and a patient attitude." So grateful for this guy. Been with me since I brought Peaches home four months ago. So happy to offer her love and re-direction instead of punishment. THANK YOU ZAK! (read both your books too)
My collie pulls on the leash only because as he grows his pace gets faster, I was honestly so happy and kind of impressed that was one of the first things you mentioned since I've never heard it from anyone else before
We have a new puppy, this is my first time really working hard to train a puppy properly. Ive been watching your vidros ever since you posted your Experience videos with Inertia. Our puppy is 13 weeks now, and your videos have been absolutely life saving since we're just getting back on our feet and missed puppy training class. You teach so many concepts i never thought about!!
We got our rescue dog two weeks ago. Watching this just before the walk to try and get our walks to be more pleasant. Thank for explaining things I did not understand. Now its my time to practice and be patient.
I have been on you tube for ten years and I still forget to use it for good information. I wish I had seen this before my girlfriend's dog damaged my arm with its constant pulling!
You think their hasn’t been videos everywhere on UA-cam from real dog trainers on how to walk dogs? I’m on this channel just for laughs because this guy is a joke.
I love your videos, not only because all the amazing tips you provide in them, but because all the explanation that help us understand the reason behind each behaviour. I love teaching my puppy knowing what she's feeling rather than just train her being unaware. Thank you!
What is it with the people who comment with such anger? So passionate about the right way to do things as they see it and so offended when someone is different from their ideas. Closed minded, arrogant and perhaps the result of very low self esteem? I dont know. Take from the video what you can use and adapt it to what works for you and your dog. But geeeze you didnt pay for this guys advice so save the anger for something worth it.
I agree!! I do NOT use strictly positive reinforcement in my dog training, because I help people with really bad behavioural problems with their dogs, and there are much better, easier for the DOG, non-confusing, quicker ways to train em out of such things. The pup in the video in my opinion can be worked on with mostly what that guy's all about, but I see a lot of potential confusion in areas for the dog, and it definitely could've been done a lot quicker and easier. Every dog trainer works differently, and whatever works -- works!
I know right? I just drop the argument and leave. I had this bleeding heart tell me that turning a dog around and walking in the opposite direction everytime they pull hard for something they want is abuse. Its one way of doing it. That way the dog sees3 its to much work to turn around and run to what they want then turn away and turn back and turn away everytime they pull. Every trainer has a different technique this one I got from Victoria Stillwell
Hope you guys like the video! Here's a playlist that will show you how to teach your dog all of the basics in order as well as how to resolve common behavior issues! Thank you! ua-cam.com/play/PLMssKIjsDxXmMGypWsr8u-yGOUSoPoozb.html
thanks Zak. I just got a large puppy that already knows sit, stop, stay while off leash. Leash on- she pulls wild. I got her a comfort harness. We will keep repeating her known commands, and incorporate your advice. I've subscribed to your channel!
I love watching your videos. We did a puppy kindergarten class but my puppy is so social that it was like working in the most distracting environment ever. I was so frustrated and really was left feeling that I should be able to tell my dog once to sit or come or walk and then move on to next skill. Your videos show me that continued communication during training is normal and expected. Thank you!!
Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution what are some good things to use as treats both store bought and homemade? For example, I see these Stewart brand Pro-treats that come in a tub at a pet store that are made of 100% beef liver...is that acceptable?
i've ecently aopted a six year old dog, and he's awful on the leash, but watching this video makes me feel like we'll be able to end up with great, stress free walks. thanks for the great tips.
This is driving me crazy, and Cocker Spaniels are nose on the ground all the time. I'd love it if he looked ahead like Nina! If it doesn't work soon, I'll be getting a Halti leash just to hold his nose straight. It can really test the relationship, so I'd love to see you train that breed please!!
kep67 From what I know you don’t back down and cave, you need to be more stubborn than the dog and teach them bad behavior isn’t rewarded, you need to complete the walk before they get rewarded; eventually they will learn to complete the walk and not lie down. Be a tree, don’t let them lead.
that’s not necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion, it mainly depends on their attitude afterwards. There’s several reasons to this, they could get tired quickly, then catch their breath and get a boost of energy into a zoomie that creates pulling and that’s a good place to start training. It’s possible they genuinely just want to lay there and enjoy the scenery, so if you want to, I suggest doing the same by walking the pup then finding a place to sit down before they decide to lay down, and come up with a word for that, just “lay” should be fine but feel free to get creative with it! Just make sure you stick to what you decide on so you don’t confuse your pup later on. Enjoy their behavior while you can, puppies grow up so quickly.
Biggest thing to remember is, although most dogs are very smart, they’re minds are still as simple as ours, the more you give attention to unwanted behavior, the more they see it as a way to get your attention. Always reward good behavior as much as possible, this strengthens your bond and makes your dog love and respect you more. Dogs don’t listen to people they deem unworthy or not smart:)
This seems perfect for walking with multiple dogs. I have been struggling to eliminate tension in the leash. I find it difficult to turn the pack around when reversing direction while staying on the sidewalk. Your method of walking backwards seems to be a perfect method of reversing direction quickly with minimal complication. Thank you for teaching me.
Just tried this on all 3 of my dogs in our yard. They all pull. 3 month old red/blue heeler unnutered male, 9 year old German shepard spayed female, and 9 year old mutt neutered male. Each one picked up on the look at me, and walked nicely. The 9 year old male who is normally a spastic puller couldn't take his eyes off me. Constant attention. It was amazing!
The biggest problem I have with his training method was at the 4-4:50 mark where he uses all types of words the dog doesn’t understand, while not really addressing keeping the dog on a loose leash. The dog more or less led him the entire way. Instead a 180 technique and body blocking will do the trick and let the dog know where it needs to be, at your knee and no further.
Oh this was so helpful and just the right length and without add interruptions for me to really get the full lesson. I have what I was told is an Australian Shepherd but he has all the energy, thin coat, agility, energy and behaviors - like soft mouth and no nipping - of the border collie. So he is either border collie or a mix of the two. Bed or wheelchair bound most of the time I have been using your lessons to help him learn in a happy positive way. He can still give me the small, medium or strong herding stares for seizure alerts; however, this positive approach has taken my 8 yr old from -when I first got (1 yr) him he was afraid to go potty in front of any human at all-to now where his confidence is loving, attentive and proud to potty in front of me. Your lessons have turned a dog who was gradually labeled more and more negatively until I sent for him immediately once they started calling him Stupid and impossible. It took a year before I could be outside while he peed in the yard. I started by going out with both him and my pure Australian Shepherd and as I picked up th poop I would celebrate by saying Good Poo Or good potty every time I picked up a lump. He appeared shocked but i just kept on doing that. With great joy he let me look at him as he potties and pooped a few months later and finally he peed on leash a year later and now he will do all his business on a walk and I always say yay good poo as I pick it up. He had been so severely traumatized more than I had ever seen a dog be.
Gentle Leader. its a wonderful product and stops pulling almost immediately. its not a shock, choke or prong collar. it doesnt hurt them but takes the leverage away. My 105 lbs GS can be walked by my 42 lbs daughter. I love using the gentle leader as a training tool and then transition to a "normal" leash/collar.
I think the dog is a bit confused and is focusing more on the treat; once you present the treat, the dog gets excited, starts jumping and snatching the food; I think Cesar Millan's technique is more effective.
Kelsie Beaulieu I think you confuse excitement with happiness and calmness with fear. Just like you would probably interpret a dog biting and tearing a toy apart with playing when it is most likely instinctively hunting. You can notice when a doing is "playing" with a toy and when its untrained behavior is trying to hunt and destroy a toy.
I think you confuse Cesar Millans 'calm and submissive' dogs with fearful and abused dogs because you are blinded by his fame and charm. This pup does need some discipline that's for sure but this is a much better way to train than Cesars 'method'.
Kelsie Beaulieu I'm sure there a many ways of properly training this dog but my original comment was that this method didn't appear to be working. With regards to Millan, his technique is more effective and is also humane. Perhaps you should learn about his technique instead of jumping on the band wagon of haters and making ignorant remarks.
I used to be a fan of his so I assure you i'm not making a random 'ignorant' as you say, remark. Millans dogs show signs of learned helplessness and constantly show appeasement signals in his presence as though they fear getting a reprimand. I suggest you learn REAL dog body language instead of taking Cesars word for it. He isnt a professional. His 'claim to fame' is apparently 'something he was born with'. FYI, it isnt possible to be born knowing the language of another species.
any one know or educated guess on what time of mix breed nina is? i have a pitbull/lab mix with the same face/ears and coloring but i wondering what breed nina gets her tall/lean body. she is beautiful.
I am so happy I searched for this video. I’m like two months out before I give birth and my 13 week old puppy can sure use this and mama/master too. 🥺🥺🥺 thank you. I’m teary eyed bc I am overwhelmed and much relieved now. 🥺. I will be watching the current one too. 🥺
Excellent video. I’m working with our 10mo. old GS. I started too late, since we live on a ranch. Exercise was not an issue. I had to make him take breaks. Or he would have run himself into the ground. But taking him off the ranch, he was a maniac. You would have thought I didn’t even name him. So working on his leash walking has been the most difficult.
I am trying to teach my GSP to look at me, which is a difficult thing to do, for me. I also have a problem with her pulling when walking, I am going to try all of the things you just showed me, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Lots of great information on these videos but would like to see these methods with a small dog ie chihuahua or maltese. It much harder to get eye contact when the dog is so low to the ground. Any suggestions?
Well, I don't like this "it's not the dog's fault" saying. Yes, the human world and its society may not fit into a dog's natural way of being but that's too bad. We provide food, shelter, companionship, and love for them. It's not like they have to starve for days if they can't catch food or freeze out in the rain somewhere. Putting up with a little "training" is the least they can do. It doesn't matter if they don't "understand." They better do what we tell them and that's end of story.
You do realize that dogs helped us build civilization, right? Our evolutionary histories are intertwined. If you can't acknowledge that and respect how dogs need to be communicated with, you should probably not have one.
Prong collars are safe and necessary for some owners. I have a 110 pound dog. I am 130 pounds. He is very good on a leash 99 percent of the time, but if he wanted to he could pull me and I'd be powerless.
Hi Zac, we have a golden retriever pup and are trying to get him to walk with the leash but he keeps trying to eat everything that we walk past. Do you have any tips for working with compulsive eaters. Loving the vids.

This is helpful. Leash pulling is a big issue with my dogs. I have 3 great dogs but leash walking has been a training struggled with every dog I've ever had. I have a very strong husky mix who has broken my wrist and dislocated my shoulder because of leash pulling. I'm also working with my service dog (she's a Cavalier) on walking at my side instead of trying to lead.
This has really made a change in. My dog and my friends dog couldn't take him out for a walk cause he would just pull her off her feet but I did alll this with him and then I said to take him out for a walk and she came back and was astonished 🌺😍

If you want to not have your dog pull u just need to put a easy walk harness or slip lead and with the slip lead you give a meaningful correction turn around then steps backwards and teach your the difference between heal and free you teach them heal by putting your dog into the position with a treat and when they pull on the leash when they are in a heel if they pull you give them a firm correction walk and to make your dog pay attention to you on a walk make it weird for your dog do this thing I call the box which is where you out of nowhere are walking your dog and bam you turn and if he is not following your body with the turn correct him until you can you can turn four times with your dog following you that is how I have trained all my dogs hope this helps(:

thebattykatt LMAOOOO
I'd love to just download his confidence and knowledge.
I agree
My dog is half pit bull half husky and he’s a boy (5months) and I have zero patience b when it comes to my baby I have patience
Amen to that!
I love this guys attitude of figuring out why dogs do the things they do, and finding a way to work with that!
Me too!!
@Wanda Cruz, yeah, I agree.
bawahahahha It worked it fucking worked?!?!!
Use these dog training secrets to successfully train your dog: HootDog. info
I don't know what to do :(
Wow that's cool to have a dog trained for that😅
Anyone else watching this video with your bad dog too? 😂
Wanda Cruz yes it is funny u can stfu bitch
Laura Legends my dog is like you can’t control me, bitch
Laura Legends yep
But did your dog ever learn my puppy is an ass lol
Yeah 😂
I literally tried this when we went for a walk he was quickly learning and literally pulled me like twice. Holy shit, never thought it would work so fast
We don't realize what we do without thinking. Yay for you!! I just didn't want my dog to pull so hard she would run away and get hurt!! We had an older dog that never gave us a problem! So it's hard for me to adjust to this new little personality!!
This guy is so passionate about dog training, you can see it in his eyes 👍
"no ma'am"!!! 😂❤️😂❤️ love this.
LOL! We say "No ma'am"!! to ours too!!!
Finally a dog trainer that explains in detail. There are far too many training videos with trained dogs making it look so easy...it's not!

I love the fact that you said how positive training is not just training a command but teaching your dog to THINK. That is exactly how I feel with the dogs from the shelter I work at. Those dogs are so intelligent, it's a shame people just try to violently push them into behaviors and thereby suppress all their intellect and character.
Joshua Leon yeah, just like with children. I hope we all can change for the better.
Zak your videos are NOT long it is perfect, people just want to jump into something instead of learning up to what they need to know. I love the way you break down everything down to the T.
Yes! Exactly? You don't need to hurt your dog with rubbish like choke chains, to train them! Thank you! I wish more trainers were like you!
Same here. It’s very frustrating when I don’t know how to communicate with my dog. This helps.
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover obedience training dog try Magonsi Clever Canine Expert (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got great results with it.
Training collars help a lot. Physical redirection through a quick leash pop helps the best
I"m getting a pup in two weeks. I'm sure I'll be looking at your videos OFTEN. You are a great teacher.
How to train your human to give you treats
Call a human hold treats and give to him , lol no onr teach that
if your dogs keep on want treats ? How much money u need to spend ? and treats cant more than 5% daily diet
How do I calculate 5% treats of daily diet?
Case White Erm normally if you buy any treats , it will wrote on the behind/infront of the treats pack. Like 2-5kg dog 1treats , 6-10kg dog 2treats. Just look at the back of the treat pack
Good point it's gotten to the point where they like almost all treats no food had to cut it back a lot
My puppy is a little angel because of your videos. Thank you. Your doing gods work. 🙏
I freaking love dogs!! I've wanted one ever since I was in 5 now I'm 15 and I'm finally getting a puppy!!! I'm soooo excited I get her on the 22nd
@@ivanalfonso8177 I have a maltipoo and I love her and also I am aware of victoria stillwell and I watch a lot of her videos
-
Respect trainers for their strengths, and try not to tear them down just because YOU think their methods don't work.
Thank you.
So what happened? We are just in your place just 4.5 months old!
I don't even have a dog but I've still been watching these videos because why not lol
I know this is years ago, but shout out to the awesome dog owners.
Less than 1 dog year though
i am in a family of 6, the rest of my family completely spoil the dog, she jumps on everything knocking shit over and she gets praised for it, she also tugs on the lead and yet again gets away with it, im the only one trying to teach her to behave, so i just take her on the types of walks she loves, but every time i feel the slightest pull i stop and discipline her for a bit.
This is a great video of a balanced approach. He verbally corrected the dog.
my dog pulls so hard that she chokes herself and I stop and make her sit and she keeps doing that its so frustration. hopefully these methods work
Get a harness, it womt choke her x
Kiera Wright did it work?
Harnesses are awful
www.nitrocanine.com/blog/2016/04/04/harnesses-drive-playing-fire/
I have a harness but it doesn’t work on my dog.
Barbara Eastbourne It's not just about the harness, you should train your dog as well, harness just provides safety.
Every time I watch your videos I am further encouraged and inspired to invest in the patient task of training my puppy. We've made so much progress but as you say still have weeks of consistency left. Thank you for your motivating guidance!
That's really an amazing comment! Thank you!

Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution my dog is not listing to my words i am teaching from 6 months to her please help me
Fantastic video and tips!
I need you in my life. Lol. I adopted a 1yr old lab and she loves to pull. I hope your videos help.
My 88 lbs labrador just drags me across the sidewalk as if I'm a paper kite
Love the way you explain and how you interact with the dog. Appreciate the insight. Thank you!
That shirt though. Too good. "...and a patient attitude." So grateful for this guy. Been with me since I brought Peaches home four months ago. So happy to offer her love and re-direction instead of punishment. THANK YOU ZAK! (read both your books too)
My collie pulls on the leash only because as he grows his pace gets faster, I was honestly so happy and kind of impressed that was one of the first things you mentioned since I've never heard it from anyone else before
these are the best dog training vids on youtube!!!!!!!!!!
I love how he is so polite to the dogs xD 'sit, please', 'no mam'
We have a new puppy, this is my first time really working hard to train a puppy properly. Ive been watching your vidros ever since you posted your Experience videos with Inertia. Our puppy is 13 weeks now, and your videos have been absolutely life saving since we're just getting back on our feet and missed puppy training class. You teach so many concepts i never thought about!!
We got our rescue dog two weeks ago. Watching this just before the walk to try and get our walks to be more pleasant. Thank for explaining things I did not understand. Now its my time to practice and be patient.
him: naming large breed dogs that pull
my dog: 7 lbs
I have been on you tube for ten years and I still forget to use it for good information. I wish I had seen this before my girlfriend's dog damaged my arm with its constant pulling!
Did you fix it 3 years later?
You think their hasn’t been videos everywhere on UA-cam from real dog trainers on how to walk dogs? I’m on this channel just for laughs because this guy is a joke.
j&a Shepherds & Springers Give him a break, he learned his lesson.
hehe I am watching this not having a dog and knowing that I won't have one. But I like to see their smartness.
Such a great idea to ask the dog to do what she already can do and reward it
I love your videos, not only because all the amazing tips you provide in them, but because all the explanation that help us understand the reason behind each behaviour.
TheAngieIshmael why are you giving your own perspective on dog training that didn't you just say that you didn't need to do that.
MrJOSEPHMAMA true true
MrJOSEPHMAMA Fantastic comment. I hope more people listen to such reasoning.
Thank you! ua-cam.com/play/PLMssKIjsDxXmMGypWsr8u-yGOUSoPoozb.html
but what if the dog is stubborn?
thanks Zak.
I just got a large puppy that already knows sit, stop, stay while off leash. Leash on- she pulls wild. I got her a comfort harness. We will keep repeating her known commands, and incorporate your advice. I've subscribed to your channel!
can you teach a old dog new tricks ?
+Wayne milne yes you can
thank you got your reply :)
this made so much sense. so clear and simple. I have hope!! and I subscribed!
Thank you!!
Real training for real dogs. This is starting to work with my dogs. Thanx a million
Why am i watching this. I don’t even have a dog😂
You make some really great suggestions and give some sensible but not necessarily obvious tips.
That's what I like to hear!
Zak George's Dog Training rEvolution what are some good things to use as treats both store bought and homemade? For example, I see these Stewart brand Pro-treats that come in a tub at a pet store that are made of 100% beef liver...is that acceptable?
Have fun trying this with hound dog on a scent trail lol.
i've ecently aopted a six year old dog, and he's awful on the leash, but watching this video makes me feel like we'll be able to end up with great, stress free walks. thanks for the great tips.
I never knew how to properly use treats as learning tools thank you so much for showing that in your video
My dachshund walks to fastttttttt and he looks like an inchworm 😭
𝑳𝒎𝒇𝒂𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 😂😭
Omg Same lol I have two dachshunds cross staffy and they look the same when they walk 😂
Our 12 week old pup will sometimes just flop down in the lawn while on the leash and won't budge.
She just lays down and looks around.
kep67 From what I know you don’t back down and cave, you need to be more stubborn than the dog and teach them bad behavior isn’t rewarded, you need to complete the walk before they get rewarded; eventually they will learn to complete the walk and not lie down. Be a tree, don’t let them lead.
Mine does that too, only he will go on his back.
that’s not necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion, it mainly depends on their attitude afterwards.
Truthseeker Enthusiast pretty sure that is for the benifit of her owners
50 Kilos of dog candy later... I have reached the conclusion that my dog is stupid.
this comment LMFAO 😂😂
+A Fan If your dog has scored all those treats and still pulls, then that sounds really smart to me!
If you look at it that way 😂😂
Haha.. Stupid and now fat
I feel your pain 😂

Cesar Millan is abusive. Notice how happy and engaged this dog is. You wont see this with Cesars dogs. You will see a fearful robot.
FYI, it isnt possible to be born knowing the language of another species.
after I gave her treats, my dog started biting my hand when I dont give her treat on a walk...LOL
Lol. So did it work
any one know or educated guess on what time of mix breed nina is?

You come of as a very sweet loving dog trainer. I can honestly say some dog trainers dont come off like this. It's very very wonderful
what breed of dog is Nina? so pretty and athletic
Hello Mr. Zak, can you please make a video with Labradors? I am getting a Labrador soon.
Thanks!

What if they are not food motivated?
Excellent video. I’m working with our 10mo. old GS. I started too late, since we live on a ranch. Exercise was not an issue. I had to make him take breaks. Or he would have run himself into the ground. But taking him off the ranch, he was a maniac. You would have thought I didn’t even name him. So working on his leash walking has been the most difficult.
I am trying to teach my GSP to look at me, which is a difficult thing to do, for me. I also have a problem with her pulling when walking, I am going to try all of the things you just showed me, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
do you have any tips on training a husky
Get a sled 😊
Lots of great information on these videos but would like to see these methods with a small dog ie chihuahua or maltese. It much harder to get eye contact when the dog is so low to the ground. Any suggestions?
Yes, decrease the training bubble. See my video on that topic on my playlist, how to teach your dog the basics in order. :)
Lynne Henry Merrick trying making dog to sit, they will atomically look at u
I don't think you know how to communicate to a dog...
Prong collars are safe and necessary for some owners.
I have a 110 pound dog. I am 130 pounds. He is very good on a leash 99 percent of the time, but if he wanted to he could pull me and I'd be powerless.
I bet he could've changed your dogs behavior without the choke collars and other tools that make dogs feel uncomfortable.
We just got a new puppy and we've been training him and using a lot of your methods. It's going really well so far, thanks for all this help!
Thanks!
I feel like he meditates with hundreds of dogs every night

This video helped me make a noticeable change in my dog's leash skills in just 20 mins!!! So grateful :)

My dog loves treats she will probably pull so I can tell her to sit and reward her 😂
haha! right?? I say thank you and treat and thank you and not treat.
Try turning around, and then rewarding for the loose leash (instead of asking for a sit after pulling).
Mine seems to be too stupid and hyper to even start this.
Stop it
Are you showing the video to the dog?
@Joyce Tye your the stupid 1 not the dog
I've trained with a similar method, but I like this better cuz it is more fleshed out and easier to understand.
This has really made a change in. My dog and my friends dog couldn't take him out for a walk cause he would just pull her off her feet but I did alll this with him and then I said to take him out for a walk and she came back and was astonished 🌺😍
