I play SMITE since 2015 I have 1370+ skins but the system they implemented to reward us seems fair and I want to play SMITE better, with better graphic, better upgrades. And one more thing I do believe that SMITE 2 is finally possible also thanks to players (like myself) who supported SMITE in this 11years. I'M NOT ANGRY, I'M HYPED AF!

That's kind of the entire point of why people are throwing fits, because their old skins aren't gonna transfer over. Meanwhile, look at the new Bellona, Jing Wei, Fenrir, Sol, or Anubis we've been shown. Those are brand new and look way better than other skins those gods currently have. UE5 is going to make it so much easier to make new, quality skins that blow previous ones out of the water.

What this means, so you don't have to do the math, is that if they committed to porting every single Smite 1 skin, and put 300 coders to the task, it would still take those coders 10 months, working every single day, all day, with no sleep, to do it. And, I might add, they'd be doing absolutely nothing else, no other development occurring on the game. That is not doable and it would kill the development of the game completely. Meanwhile, they've also said that they plan to port over specific skins that are exceptionally popular or highly demanded, and those skins will be purchasable 100% with legacy gems. So yes, we WILL get some skins back, and no, we won't be raked over the coals for them. I would suggest maybe doing some basic info checking before making assumptions or trying to demonize the devs because you're determined to be mad about something. Also, we know literally nothing about how they're planning on pricing anything. Trying to make statements on that when you know absolutely nothing about it and just assuming it's going to be more expensive is a really stupid thing to do.
One think im looking forward to is them really pushing the visual design of the map with the new engine. Hope to see other cultural influences on the map not just greek vs lava. Imagine how a japanese vs Norse, or Hindu vs Mayan map would look? Potential for best moba map is definitely there
Hearing the discussion around items and especially god QOL on implementation is such an incredible breath of fresh air. I've been beating the Chaac QOL drum for a little while and I'm so excited for that change + the Ymir ones and others to come, especially on old god kits that haven't had a change in awhile. It makes such a difference when you play the character frequently, and just avoids pain points for newcomers. A nice side-effect of the Ymir QOL/Buff, is that there's some added some skill expression to his wall, similar to Thor wall. You can be a little greedy and make the riskier, flashier play to get the CC & the effective wall, but run the risk of having your opponent land on the unintended side of the wall. Little details like this make Smite great. Way to go Hi-Rez 👏
I can't wait honestly, I have been a long time smite player of around 3k hours on steam. I know that may not seem like a lot of hours compared to some of the no-lifers out there, but this game has been with me since about the age of 14, I am now age 23... how time flies, and now to see that smite is going to be reborn and last even longer threw smite 2.. it's just refreshing.
I just hope they really evolve the game and make it better and don't play it safe and not change enough to make it really feel refreshing. I've played smite for over 10 years, I want something new out of it and I feel like everyone does. There is a reason I have not played it much in almost a year, it got stale.

Develops new game using the most insane game engine devised with limitless possibilities at their disposal.... Still uses UX design from 2002 for the HUD. The menus, lobby, and shop are a major step in the right direction but you need to drastically overhaul the in-game HUD/UX, especially if you're aiming to grow your playerbase beyond a fart in the wind at launch.
It is *literally* pre-Alpha footage. You know what a pre-Alpha is correct? It's where a game typically has a lack of polish and has missing assets, placeholders, etc. Games in a pre-Alpha stage usually do not have a solid UI, and most game's during pre-Alpha don't look as polished gameplay wise as Smite 2's currently. You're seriously complaining about UI/UX when the game isn't even in a state to where you can play it, like actually you should feel shame.

At least let us customize it via making icons & font larger, font color options, & moving things around, etc.

I hope you add a final fusion rat badge. That’s a hard skin to get an only the most dedicated rat players will have it. I am one of them, please let me have my galaxy rat badge if I don’t have the skin. This should be the standard for all unique skins on every god. Tier 5 skins, skins that have unique requirements to get, things that you have to earn should 100% get a badge for them.
The biggest worry I have is the fact of like a lot of people probably won't be able to even play the game anymore because of graphics. I already had a lot of bugs in Smite where I can't run Discord and play Smite at the same time for some reason. If I tried to play conquest and I turned my camera just the game freezes for a few seconds and of course it's expected whenever my PC is older than smite Smyth's launch like smite's beta which is when I started playing so yeah possible this is I doubt I'm ever going to be able to play it because I am not in a position to buy a new pc I'm barely even alive at this point
For SMITE 2, I hope to see 2 types of CONQUEST modes. 1 is a classic Conquest mode that their roles are fixed only for those roles. That's a classic Conquest mode only. The next is Fantasy Conquest mode. This mode is for any roles of your choices. When I see Ranked matches, the other team don't pick the roles. They picked range or magic range that beaten the support melee roles. So, I see Ranked Conquest mode the other team tend to pick 2 assassins or 3 mages. Harder for the melee fighters with limited range. So 2 types of conquests would be classic mode & fantasy mode. That way the other team can't take advantage of the team on roles. Just an idea. 80% advantage of the teams not choosing the roles wins. 20% fixed roles win.
I just want to have my limited and unlimited skins to cross over those skins were not cheap to get. Doesn't need to be day one but over the course of the game

I bought skins to use them on Smite 1 knowing full well that the game, as all games, would end one day and all my cosmetics would fade into the aether. Skins that in some cases I played with for 10 years after a one time purchase, I would say they delivered on the product as promised and I got my money's worth. Also Smite 1 is going to keep running for the foreseeable future so those cosmetics aren't even lost yet. For the people that bought stuff for Smite 1 and the existence of Smite 2 makes them upset and like it invalidates all of their "investments" in Smite 1 (or more that invalidates, it puts them in the "negatives" somehow), even though Smite 1 will still exist, well, that sucks buddy but can't relate. I for one think its pretty cool they are giving me store credit in their new game when all I expected to be left with when Smite ended was nothing but memories.
I have 4k hours, 1200 skins, and 4 gm borders in Smite 1. I am 10000% hyped for Smite 2. They're allowing Smite 1 players to buy fan favorite skins for each god outright with legacy gems. It's completely fair imo. It's nonsensical to have a dev team cram 10 years of skins into a game, let alone a game that's not even developed yet. Lastly, fans would never allow the idea of having to repay for skins...so Hi-Rez would have to commit an ungodly amount of time into porting over skins they would make zero profits on. (How are they supposed to maintain business expenses and pay salaries making net-zero profit for as long as it would take to port all skins)
I was mad at first but if they really are going to somehow track all the gems we didn't and give us atleast something towards refund that's pretty positive
They said future Smite 1 skins that are getting remade in 2 (not the ones we are unlocking on the Divine Legacy) you can buy completely with just Legacy Gems. But yes, if you want to buy lets say the Battle Pass in Smite 2 that is 800 gems (assuming prices are the same as Smite 1) it doesn't mater if you have 100K Legacy Gems you are still goin to need 400 New Gems as Legacy Gems can only pay for up to 50%.
I'm sorry but I just can't get fully behind this. Is it possible to keep both player count competing games going simultaneously, indefinitely without one suffering from content drought (S1 seeing less content)? I love what is being done with S2, just can't see a way that both can survive down the road.

No one is talking about the future costs. Epic Games charges a 5% royalty on gross revenue after the first $1 million in revenue per game or application. 5% might feel small, but the cost will be reflected to the players. Hopefully the skins won't be game changing such as hiding spells or making them less visible or too colourful. Regarding the bottom up ranked system it will suffer a lot from smurf accounts stomping "for fun". Regarding the SMITE 2 transition it sucks that all my unspent gems will NOT be transferred. Maybe I don't want to buy anything right now in SMITE 1. Surely there is a way to check the gem currency in SMITE 1. I have 20k gems that will be "lost" in SMITE 2, if I plan to plat there. That feels wrong. Please find a way to transfer everything.
If I remember correctly there are some existing smite skins that do this very thing, but these types of skins are banned in professional ranked matches.
@@TheValcyriathe dev team can literally use a conversion program to transfer smite 1 content to smite 2. It would be the easiest thing in the world. All they'd have to do is micromanage some touch ups, UE5 AI will literally take care of the rest. Their arguments are nonsense.

What does this even mean. Have you ever watched SPL. Spl /conquest is more pvE less pvP not that the other way. They spend all their time farming and fight once at the end. Casual modes are all pvp no pve
Kinda disappointed that the game is still flat, thought they would change it up and make the map more vertical. The animation still looks to basic, but maybe they improve it. Still looking forward to playing.

If I tried to play conquest and I turned my camera just the game freezes for a few seconds and of course it's expected whenever my PC is older than smite Smyth's launch like smite's beta which is when I started playing so yeah possible this is I doubt I'm ever going to be able to play it because I am not in a position to buy a new pc I'm barely even alive at this point
For SMITE 2, I hope to see 2 types of CONQUEST modes. 1 is a classic Conquest mode that their roles are fixed only for those roles. That's a classic Conquest mode only. The next is Fantasy Conquest mode. This mode is for any roles of your choices. When I see Ranked matches, the other team don't pick the roles. They picked range or magic range that beaten the support melee roles. So, I see Ranked Conquest mode the other team tend to pick 2 assassins or 3 mages. Harder for the melee fighters with limited range. So 2 types of conquests would be classic mode & fantasy mode. That way the other team can't take advantage of the team on roles. Just an idea. 80% advantage of the teams not choosing the roles wins. 20% fixed roles win.
Smite is never going to benefit from more game modes until it ever solves it's population crisis unfortunately
I just want to have my limited and unlimited skins to cross over those skins were not cheap to get. Doesn't need to be day one but over the course of the game

I bought skins to use them on Smite 1 knowing full well that the game, as all games, would end one day and all my cosmetics would fade into the aether. Skins that in some cases I played with for 10 years after a one time purchase, I would say they delivered on the product as promised and I got my money's worth.
Also Smite 1 is going to keep running for the foreseeable future so those cosmetics aren't even lost yet. For the people that bought stuff for Smite 1 and the existence of Smite 2 makes them upset and like it invalidates all of their "investments" in Smite 1 (or more that invalidates, it puts them in the "negatives" somehow), even though Smite 1 will still exist, well, that sucks buddy but can't relate.
I for one think its pretty cool they are giving me store credit in their new game when all I expected to be left with when Smite ended was nothing but memories.
Gotta upgrade my gaming system soon. So I can play smite2.

I have 4k hours, 1200 skins, and 4 gm borders in Smite 1. I am 10000% hyped for Smite 2. They're allowing Smite 1 players to buy fan favorite skins for each god outright with legacy gems. It's completely fair imo.
It's nonsensical to have a dev team cram 10 years of skins into a game, let alone a game that's not even developed yet.
Lastly, fans would never allow the idea of having to repay for skins...so Hi-Rez would have to commit an ungodly amount of time into porting over skins they would make zero profits on. (How are they supposed to maintain business expenses and pay salaries making net-zero profit for as long as it would take to port all skins)
Just have AI do the work.

Hold up, just to clarify then, are legacy gems useless if you dont get any new gems then in Smite2?
They said future Smite 1 skins that are getting remade in 2 (not the ones we are unlocking on the Divine Legacy) you can buy completely with just Legacy Gems.
But yes, if you want to buy lets say the Battle Pass in Smite 2 that is 800 gems (assuming prices are the same as Smite 1) it doesn't mater if you have 100K Legacy Gems you are still goin to need 400 New Gems as Legacy Gems can only pay for up to 50%.

Is it possible to keep both player count competing games going simultaneously, indefinitely without one suffering from content drought (S1 seeing less content)? Could someone explain to me how they say smite skins take 2 months to port but have 11 legacy skins ready to show case in 11 months. I just dont get it?

@@joshs6259 idk but they still have a whole team of artists/animators/modelers doing skins for smite 1 plus programming work and VA contractors. I'm not there so idk anything specific but they can only pump out the amount of cosmetics they do with a decently big team

Not porting T5 skins because you are lazy is a big mistake. That's probably the main reason why a lot of people not gonna play smite anymore..
No one is talking about the future costs. Epic Games charges a 5% royalty on gross revenue after the first $1 million in revenue per game or application. 5% might feel small, but the cost will be reflected to the players. Hopefully the skins won't be game changing such as hiding spells or making them less visible or too colourful.
Regarding the bottom up ranked system it will suffer a lot from smurf accounts stomping "for fun".
Regarding the SMITE 2 transition it sucks that all my unspent gems will NOT be transferred. Maybe I don't want to buy anything right now in SMITE 1. Surely there is a way to check the gem currency in SMITE 1. I have 20k gems that will be "lost" in SMITE 2, if I plan to plat there. That feels wrong. Please find a way to transfer everything.
If I remember correctly there are some existing smite skins that do this very thing, but these types of skins are banned in professional ranked matches.
Smite 2 drops January 2025, you have a whole year to spend those gems. Skins released this year also transfer to smite 2.
@@TheValcyriathe dev team can literally use a conversion program to transfer smite 1 content to smite 2. It would be the easiest thing in the world. All they'd have to do is micromanage some touch ups, UE5 AI will literally take care of the rest. Their arguments are nonsense.

What does this even mean. Have you ever watched SPL. Spl /conquest is more pvE less pvP not that the other way. They spend all their time farming and fight once at the end. Casual modes are all pvp no pve

Kinda disappointed that the game is still flat, thought they would change it up and make the map more vertical. The animation still looks to basic, but maybe they improve it. Still looking forward to playing.
