When Nintendo says certain games from Switch 1 wont be compatible for Switch 2, I think they are referring to games that need the Joycons like Ring Fit or Nintendo Labo.
no. Switch 2 is "next gen" switch. They meant there will be games og Switch not powerful enough. How else is the new Indiana Jones and COD coming to Switch?
@@gameskyjumper1721no like the guy said above it's about the IR sensor and stuff like Labo. They are saying certain switch 1 games will not be compatible
Wait, for real? I hope it becomes industry standard as rubber quality for sticks has been ass coupled with the cheap electronics and board. I had a 2 month old Dualsense that I barely use on PC that started to show drifting signs in some games as the camera would jerk to the left from time to time for no apparent reason. I opened it and it looked prestine inside, then saw a tutorial of a guy who modded one to feature hall effect sticks. I pre-ordered the parts and done the soldering and it works like a charm. I don't know if it'll work in the future or on a PS5 as these controllers feature firmwares and Sony could flag it for tampering, but it has been working fine for now. Hearing the Switch 2 will have Hall Effect by default is great news.
@@Nero_PR From the same leaks that revealed everything about the Switch 2, they also mentioned Hall Effect sticks. Nintendo also shows the analog stick being spinned in the trailer, which really feels like a flex from them.
I have such an amazing switch library for physical games. Some I've played and many that I haven't. It's really nice to know that this basically future proofs them for the next decade+ . The switch is already IMO the near perfect console as far as general design so iterating on that is absolutely the best way to go.
Now the big question is will switch 2 unlock the full potential of switch one games so any of the 30fps games that often drop down to 25 fps will they stay at 30fps on switch 2 without drops? Will the 60fps switch 1 games that often drop down to the 40 and 50fps stay locked at 60fps on switch 2? This would be awesome similar to how many ps4 games like monster hunter world that are 30fps on base ps4 run at higher fps on the ps4 pro and ps5.
They're indirectly referring to certain games Nintendo Labo. The Switch 1 is already the near perfect console as far as general design so implementing backwards compatibility was the smartest move possible.
General Design on the switch is plain and simple. That's the Japanese IKEA corporate mindset. You can't play the switch for more than half hours without needing an accessory for hand cramps so...
1:51 - this will be one of the new exclusive features of the NS2: mouse joy cons. Note how they slide along the surface and you can also see the holes on both sides for the lasers
Tha's a new MK, we see 18 players in the video instead of 12 and 24 player slots at the starting line + that map don't exist in MK8DX so it's most likely a new game. Besides that, kind of exited but at the same time we will see, depends of if I will really need it or not (so if the games at launch really make me need the console or if it can wait for later)
The thing I’m most excited about for Switch 2 (besides the power upgrade and screen size) is the new Mouse functionality. I could see it being utilized for Metroid Prime 4, COD, a possible Kid Icarus Uprising Remaster, and possible MMOs (looking at you FF14). Lots of potential to be had for sure.
They learned their lesson with the "Wii U" naming convention. They're not making that mistake again. Cool to see the guesstimations about the joycons having an optical sensor were correct.
That's definitely not Mario Kart 8, if you look closely it's a huge graphical update, it actually looks more like the Mario Bros. Movie, especially the Donkey Kong design, and even the cars in traffic.
Definitely looks like optical sensors in the Joy Cons where it connects to the main unit. And they animate them gliding around on a table, like a mouse. Hmmmm.
Hope the extra size means we can have Wilds or World ports. I love playing MH on handhelds and those PC handhelds pricing/battery/size still ridiculous
I doubt Wilds, but definitely World/Iceborne should have ports. Considering that all the leaks were proven correct with this short reveal, it’ll be around ps4 pro when docked and base PS4 undocked so there’s no reason it shouldn’t be able to run a port of World/Iceborne with that level of power.
I don’t think we’ll get either. CAPCOM has heavily shifted towards hardcore PC specs obsessed gaming. At best, we might get remake of an older, classic monster hunter within the first three years of the console’s life.
Did you notice the mouse laser hole, they added somthing tonthe side of the joys cons then raced then along the table... maybe some kind of dual mouse mode
the "certain incompatible games" would mean games like Labo, and maybe games that rely on the IR sensor. so i'm thinking porting would be pretty easy from 1 to 2.
If I had to guess, by “can’t play all switch games” I’m guessing they mean you can’t play with the labo sets with switch 2 since the joycons wouldn’t work. Looking at the renders on the website I’m not seeing the camera in the bottom of the right joy con. So any games that use the IR sensor probably won’t be compatible.
The Joycons seem to have a pair of extra buttons at the backside right below L2/R2, but maybe it’s just something you have to press to disconnect the Joycons from the screen like on the Switch 1. The switch 1 needed this safety measure but i don’t think the switch 2 would need it anymore because of the new way to attach the Joycons to the screen so it might be new buttons.
On board with this, I have multiple physical games I haven’t even tried yet. Still I hope we’ll get some details on the following: - is this a touch screen ? I need it for… Moero Crystal H 😂 - will the original pro controller be supported ? - will we be able to pop our sd card from the switch 1 to the switch 2 and have all our games / save data ? - will they improve their in-console shop ? With the influx of low-effort games browsing the new releases is painful, hopefully they switch to a steam-like shop, not holding my breath..
The disclaimer about not all games is a legal necessity as there will be some games that just wont work on SW2 - things that needed technologies specific for SW1 - Ringfit or relied on the SW1 joycons specifically and so on, nad there will also games that they were created in such a way that they cant be just run on SW2 but need to be ported ... so this is mainly to cover their asses for such instances
I’m excited for the console. Regarding the game support from switch to switch 2, i think it’s referring to games that use the IR scanner on the right joycon that won’t be support since the switch 2 doesn’t look to have it present
For me the biggest question is did they only improve the screen and other features, or did they actually improve the hardware as well. Most of my play time happens through the TV, and the OG Switch's hardware struggles when you play some games in docked mode, Tears of the Kingdom or Xenoblade 2+3 for example.
I'll be buying day 1 if possible. There's a bunch of switch games I still haven't played so having a more powerful console to play them on will be great. There's also a bunch of Nintendo IP I've never played - Metroid, Xenoblade, Bayonetta, etc. so much to play and I've been after a handheld device for a while as it's my preferred way of playing metroidvanias such as prince of persia, hades, etc
problem 1. for me is that the plug-in joy-cons are less secure than the sliding rails. problem 2. is that it might no longer fit in your pocket after removing the joy-cons less compact a little more difficult to take on the go. the switch 1 was about only as big as a moto g5 cellphone with the protector case on.🤔🤨🧐
Can't say for the tech behind the joysticks, but just to make them taller and have better range of motion would feel so much better, but these look relatively the same

and for the not all games will be suported i think it might mean things like labo n such or otger games that require the switch 1 joycons , i think ps5 also had a few games it just wasnt compatible with from ps4
I have the og, and oled splatoon 3 switch. This one better run 60fps and be atleast comparable to the ps4 pro for me to get it. I have a ps5 so it really has to wow me in order for me fork out another $400.
Honestly i wait for a reskin of a favorite game. I own the switch lite sword and shield version from pokemon and an switch Oled from scarled violet version.
Maybe monster hunter or fire emblem, or kingdom hearts or pokemon again wil make a new reskin of the switch i gonna like.
Games and price, please!
Had the switch I do not play hand held I played it on my small screen that's 47 in never watch movies on my phone either. So I switched to the PS5 I do like the the exclusive games better on the PS5. But I will miss Mario 3d and Zelda games. But the only game coming out this year that I care about is MH Wilds.
Bro I barely used my switch and I’m so down to buy this……
Quite the change in bezel. Oh the edge isn't the bezel... maybe it's glass this time so I don't have to buy a screen protector?
Make a proper Golden Sun 3 and I’ll buy one.
im still waiting on the ps9, why dont you analyze that video?
As much as you are on twitter I’m honestly surprised you haven’t seen anything about it before hand
I received a press release from Nintendo so I avoided everything until I made the video.
@@rurikhan Even still! Very impressive
Backwards compatiblity was confirmed 3 months ago, why are people acting like this is big news?
It was confirmed it would play switch one games, not switch one cartridges.
@rurikhan yes cartridges contain games. like I said confirmed 3 months ago.
SPECS SPEC WHATS THE SPECS. Next gen?
I'll wait for the 2nd version that fix alot of problam like NSW red box
People couldn't tell the iPhone XR from the XS. They can barely decipher Pro vs Pro Max to this day. They dont know why the Galaxy S is better than the Galaxy A. XBOX Series S vs Series X? Forget it. People are dumb, better to market to that. Switch is a strong brand, theres no need to be too off the wall with a name, but you also wanna avoid another WiiU debacle.
But can it run monster hunter tho?
I hope so. Instant double dip of Wilds if it can
@ god i would love if it could run wilds but i doubt it
Its definetly not going to run Wilds..Wilds isnt a portable title.
You got something better to do, kiddo?
@@MysteriousStranger50 Good for you.
