I really like this video on the C chord. I've had my guitar for many years, and it just sits on its stand. This instrument and piano are two instruments that I really want to practice on.
Hey there FunWithCats. Do you have any cats? I have a big guy named Benny. Anyway, yes, too many guitar just sit on their stands!! Cheers to picking yours up. I wish you many more years of picking up the guitar and learning.
You have the easiest tutorial, thank you , I should never have set my guitar down for 11 years... gotta relearn it all... fyi : women have smaller fingers and fingertips , the steel strings often feel like pressing down on razor blades!! Delicate skin on finger tips...
I gotta spread a lot my fingers with this chord. I try to have a special angle but it is a tricky schord to switch with D, E and G. Excellent descripción, one more suscriber, Ive just downloaded the ebook, thank you very much. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina!
I also have short fingers. When I was learning this chord, just to get playing, I only used the 1st and 2nd fingers. Didn't bother using the third until I was happy with the first two. It helped me keep going and stay motivated. Only for a few months later I had the whole thing down.
How do pro guitarists switch between chords so fast??? It takes me 20 seconds to do the chord and even then i dont Know how to tune my guitar so instead of a happy chord it sounds like something from celeste Edit:i Got it
When I was learning, the C chord I was shown only used the 1st and 2nd fingers. I didn't learn the full shape until some months later by which time I was more than ready. Of course I had to be careful not to strum the 4,5,6 strings but that was no big deal as I was able to keep playing and learning new songs. Good luck!
Urgh! Everytime i pressure my fingers the bottom string of it becomes muted. And everytime i adjust the finger that i pressure, the botton string becomes good but the string that i put my finger in, it also becomes muted!! Edit: i did it, all you need is just practice and tip is to cut ur nails and practice everyday
@@joe-xm4kc so sorry my 9 year old son wrote that. I will teach him internet etiquette and personally apologize to you. I never teach my kids to bully but he will get a lesson in making amends.
Ahhhh now i see my problem i dont have the callous fingers and the force for it. 😅. Welp gotta go build that callous thanks for the tip it really helped me show the lacks and mistakes i did i subbed 😊
I am brand new at the guitar. I bought an acoustic and I’m left-handed. What are the first things I should practice the very first things I do know how to tune it and I know my strings but that’s as far as I got.
C is the toughest "beginner" chord, since it provides so many opportunities to accidentally mute adjacent strings. Keep at it and as your fingers strengthen and develop accuracy, this will all work out!
i put my fingers in the right position and it is not difficult at all for me. BUT I JUST CANT GET THE SOUND BECAUSE I ALWAYS STRUM THE FIRST STRING BY MISTAKE AND AA.
Try to put your ring finger a little higher, so it sits JUST UNDER the thickest string, barely touching it. That should mute it and prevent it from ringing out.
I just started with an acoustic guitar, and of course there is buzzing when I place fingers on strings! Is it just a matter of continuous practice, or are my finger pads too fat?
James, I have been trying to play the C major cord for awhile n my middle finger wants to stay close to my index finger n my 3rd finger want reach the 3rd feet like it suppose to be so, I have been playing the Cadd9 but, I would like to get the 3 finger C major chord..
Hey Terry, it takes a while to train the fingers to make the shape, but I assure you, if you keep trying every day, your finger will eventually go where it needs to go. The C major chord and the Cadd9 sound quite different, so I would keep trying. It's all about persistence. Cheers
As a pianist and organist in a church… this is not like any of the instruments I’ve played! Seems like there is no rhyme or reason for note placement. I’ve played sax, clarinet and organ and piano, at least things seem to go in order. The strings are in different orders. Doesn’t even have all 7 notes
Practice, practice, practice. Remember, once you learnt to walk by practice, then you leart to talk by practice, then you learnt to read and write by practice. Good luck.
It's just like learning to play a note at first it's really hard and you have to focus but once you keep practicing it becomes second nature and you don't even have to think about it
In my opinion the greatest option is just to practise! Play the c chord even if u don't feel like you're getting this right, with practise and time you'll learn:)
Ok no matter how pretty cool your nails and you choose to learn on the hard way with a little bit long nails on the guitar, I'm telling you you will have to cut your nails. It's impossible with nails istg. I have to compromise rn unfortunately :(
Try the first version I learned. It only uses the 1st and 2nd fingers. It'll keep you playing and learning new songs until you're ready to stick that 3rd finger on!

Use ProTune to tune ur guitar I use it and it’s free
It takes time. Just do some exercises to change from a chord to another for like 30 mins a day. Pro guitarists got thousands of hours of practise.
Years of Practice Bruh

is it alr if i cry cuz i cant do it
Why do i keep muting that high e string with my palm?
Got a guitar ad before this
I feel like crying just now, my fingers are really short, it's literally impossible
Thanks but why is it called a 'C' chord? What has the letter 'C' got to do with it?
jaw baw music theory, dumbass
because the basic notes are
A, B, C, D, E, F, G
it’s called the c chord because it sounds like the c 🤦🏻♀️
The basic C chord is made up of three notes C,E,G with C being the root or bass note hence the name
