James, Not the first time I have said this but it bears repeating. You have a terrific style of teaching: patient, clear and encouraging. Thank you so much.
Some teachers don't teach exercises and that makes it difficult to learn . They expect u to play just by watching them play... these exercises u have shown are great and i believe it will help every beginner change chords faster....
My 5 year old son came in the guitar room and started slapping my lap also. “daddy, what are you doing?" He said and joined in the slapping. lol. Thanks for giving me a great moment with my son in addition to leaning guitar.
Guys i have watched all videos for learning it doesn't help me at all and now i ma thinking of learning it from a guitarist or can someone suggest me something plz
yeah i always keep practicing everyday and i noticed that i can already switch a chord easily you're right. there is no secret to be good.😊 btw i started 10 months ago so im really proud of it hehe

I started playing guitar a month ago, i was struggling with chord switch and this was the most helpful video ever. After watching this i was able to switch between g major and c major. Thank u soo much
Playing for almost a year and still my chord switching wasn't that fluid so the last strum before the chord change ends up getting sound muted and it's fucking irritating that it's almost a year and I can't execute that properly😡. Its frustrating.
I don’t know if you will see my comment, i even tried to find you on instagram only to say a really thank you! It was very helpful and good way to switch chords while playing!!! It was my problem and now it solved because of you!!
Good Guitarist. This was an amazing video. I’ve been struggling between G to D or C. I’m gonna try this tech out and see how it works and let you know. Thanks
Thank you...it's not like I don't practise...but I need that organized clarity while practicing...without it...it feels a little overwhelming and tiring.... This suggestion video helped me put my practice sessions in a more productive time....😊👍👍
Your teaching is very useful. I have one doubt while practising chord shifting shall I look the fret board or from the beginning itself should I train myself without looking the fret board which is the correct method pls guide me Thank you brother
Great advice and an awesome tutorial! I loved the counting between switches. Helps with spacing too. I'm a beginner and have my 1st recital Sunday but I'm still pausing like you exemplified towards the end of your video. Especially going from E- minor to D- Major then to C- Minor. So I'm gonna use some of your techniques to help me.
Was having difficulty switching between c to d, after doing wat u told for couple of time i can see some improvement...thank you i will add this to my daily practice routine
I like this video it makes sense. Reading the comments below seems not very working but I think the method is good, it's just up to us, how seriously we do it.
if you use your pinky for A in Asus2, then the transition would be a lot quicker and smoother. in addition, playing E and A for Asus2 using pinky and ring fingers allows you to bar it as well. not sure if this alternate fingering is considered advanced or not, but i think it'd be a lot more productive to transition using pinky because you're knocking two birds with one stone
Thanks for the switching technique. It's a good lesson to learn with. I need to switch between G chord and C chord ... Can you tell me a thumb rule for that ... !!!?
Hi my d chord sounds so low when I play it, and there is this device connected to my guitar it tells me if the tuning is correct. And according to the device, it is. What’s wrong with my d chord?
Yeah, it's such a small thing but totally changes the sound. I have quite a few little tricks like that that will boost your playing. Thanks for tuning in!
I’m being dead ass rn I have been playing guitar for 2 months about and I keep missing the chord changes by like 1 string or I would be to high on the fret and I never knew why I did that chord exercise where you slap your lap and I swear to god it fixed it so fast take this exercise serious if your struggling with changes
Update I’m 4 months in chord changes are getting better I stopped doing the drill but it helped me for like a month I can change chords pretty easily now but only specific ones don’t give up guys!
Brother, In a progression, for example g, c, d, a minor when G card to be hold and when the C card to be hold and when am chord to be hold. I'm trying to switch between an altered version of d major 7 straight to F# minor 9 to play a chon song called sleepy tea and it's a pain so far lol
The chord + slap + chord method was truly amazing. Thank you! Such a simple little exercise but it works wonders! Great stuff as always!
Yup! And without the strum, I can practice in silence at night.

I want to switch between four chords in less than 1.5 seconds
0 to 60 in 1.5!
Try it with a crazily paced metronome or increase the speed until it is crazily paced.
