Chanson que Mavis Staples déroule comme une longue plainte, un cri qui loin de nous laisser indifférent nous prend aux tripes du début à la fin. On vit la chanson.
I love Mavis's voice. I've been listening to this and the demo with Prince's vocals and he wins IMO. If you're reading this Mavis, you're still Melody and you're still cool.
Prince sent a cassette of a song to Mavis, 'Train' I think. On the flip side of the cassette was a song he said nothing about, 'come home'. Mavis asked prince if she could do it . It wasnt written for Mavis.
@@dennisweisz7548 Nope, the song was written/recorded after his break-up with Susannah Melvoin in '87. The song is about her. He later re-recorded the song and gave it to Mavis. The version with Prince's vocals that is floating around is the 2nd recorded version ('88) of the track. Which was indeed intended for Mavis - hence they sound quite similar. But the song wasn't technically written for Mavis as it already existed.

superspook you are wrong man. Prince wrote this for Mavis! And yes, he is the best.
I know this was made for Mavis but his music suits well only in his mouth :)
