Add to it usual gay code in subliminal messaging during times of oppression and you have a scene that expresses the promise of a future for these two. The detective notices the journalist and has no problem to find out who he is, the journalist notices the detective and has a picture of him ... they definitely will end up together!!!

The conversation that Iris and Gabriel have about fate and destiny, and Iris telling Alfred that they all will be who they were before finding the bodies...I think they were all destined to meet. Elias' interference just altered it to tragedy. Now, I believe that it will be happier for all of them.
IM 100% SURE, before KYAL (Know You Are Loved) happened Alfred and Henry had a romantic relationship between eachother. During when Henry showed Fred the photographs, you could clearly see Henry lunging Alfred for a kiss but Alfred shrugged him off.

What a beautiful love romance! Alfred even confessed the murder for not framing Henry. I wonder what Henry felt after knowing this. Did he run away? Did he know about Alfred's sacrifice? Of course there's not in the series..but it would have been nice though
I thought about that a lot too. He would have been absolutely shocked and touched that he took the fall. What an act of love. Then immediately finding out that he died soon after. The complete devastation. I just picture him sobbbbbbing sobbing. And was never the same.

And I was like "which will be Alfred's point?" and when Henry showed the pictures I was "Oh. Henry will be his point." 😂

Their story was the highlight and what kept me going when watching the show.
