GIANT TUNA TAIL & Filipino Food Tour in Davao Philippines, DURIAN CAPITAL
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 вер 2024
- For my last day in the Philippines, I went on a Filipino food tour to explore some of the best restaurants they have in Davao city. And I'm not a huge fan of durian, the king of all fruits, but because Davao is the durian capital I had to try some.

I'm a Filipino. This is the only food channel that isn't cringy because this guy knows how to eat!
Only food channel that's not cringy?? Mark Weins is good too.....watch!
pinoypapapizza
>mark weins
That's the epitome of cringe my dude
True ! Actually Mike is one of the few food vlogger that I watch. Lol
pinotpapapizza i agree wit jasiel. Mark Weins is really the epitome of cringe. :(
jasiel delgado yes, I agree, maybe because of his facial reaction that makes me cringe 🤷🏻♀️ but I think I subscribe both chan but I watched strictly dumpling more...
Mike, thank you for trying our foods in Davao and other parts of the Philippines! We, Filipinos love your show bcoz you really like foods and you are a good critic.
Mikey you're in the Philippines. As my mom used to say "if there's no rice, it's just a snack not a meal."
Haha like eating pancit canton. When you eat it alone it is just snack.
i guess all asian always like that lol
@@marcjosephconstantino3940 if you really want to go meta ask for plain rice to eat with your garlic sinangag.
I agree, i grew up knowing that way but now that am in western country my stomach learned to say no. When i ate pancit thats enough, no more rice he he he, when i ate burger and fries that's a meal already.
@@EminenceGrease not just garlic fried rice. Make your coffee as your soup. Plain rice and fish paste or shrimp paste(bagoong). Soy sauce, milo, salt, sugar. These are the real meta.
I have been living in the Philippines for the past 15 years and like you I love to travel and EAT. Batangas province takes pride on Bulalo, halo halo in Digman - Cavite province, tuna in Socsargen, sisig in Pampanga, chicharon in Bulacan, Lechon, depends on your taste (it's all over), longanisa, Ilocos or Quezon province,
Give mike his own show in netflix or something. He is good at what he is doing. Now I'm drooling this early.
is youtube not enough
UA-cam is a good platform, it gives him the creative freedom that he needs to make this quality content. Netflix would probably ruin it with all the producers getting their hands on it.
@@pmushroom true
@@pmushroom agree
no. when corporations come in it'll ruin his content. they'll control everything. won't be the same mikey.
Wow. He actually mix the halo-halo. 😁👍😆 I'm nervous that he'll not mix it. 😂
but I'm afraid that the garnish Gumamella was on it too😂
Your reaction while Eating bulalo was priceless. Must have been really worth it! 😊
I'm so glad you come to Davao City. My hometown is not really one of the most popular places most foreign tourists would go to when they come to the Philippines. Thank you for coming and hope you enjoy your trip here. God bless you!
I fell inlove with a Davaoena, i fell inlove with the place too, so im moving there this coming May 2019.
Woah congratulations
From where are you moving?
Marunong ka nang mag tagalog ?
If you didnt understand i asked do you know how to speak tagalog yet?
@@bugoymolina3903 he should try to learn bisaya first tho. It'll be more useful 😉 cause he'll be living in Davao

Bulalo tastes absolutely better on street than on any other fancy restaurants
couldn't say it better
Bulalo is absolutely better when made at home.
I couldn't agree more , it is , indeed! haha
Right i dont know why street food is better than restaurants
@@raymonddalusong2709 Probably bc they've been making that dish forever and it's more local orientated than for tourists. Often their menu is pretty limited but very good :)
Your choice of dip combination is very Filipino. Wow
he just need to crush the chili or atleast not to eat it whole, else is perfect!
He is a pro eater
Mikey! You should crush the chili to squeeze out the spiciness of that fiery red bomb with the soy and calamansi sauce 😊👍
Oo grabe ang anghang nya kumaen matatapalan talaga ung flavors nung tapa
Next time you make a dipping sauce with soy sauce and calamansi, you should chop the chilis with a spoon or fork a bit, so the flavor of the chilis goes into the dip, instead of one big chili coming whole in your bites.
At 3:56, did I heard you saying "Bigger than my ball? 😂😂😂
Kidding. I am sure you said Bowl😁
Baddy Buddy na he only has one ball so you’re right............. of course he said bowl 😑
That’s dirty minded
I thought I heard the same thing.
he said "bigger than my bowl" not ball
@@ianr6071 Oh wow
With the Bulalo Mikey. We usually pair it with rice, so it won't be overwhelming. When in Rome😀🍲
Once you had a taste of Filipino foods, wherever you are in this part of the world, it’s like coming home. Always coming back
When you added the marrow to the beef and rice...... Bet its like a spoonful of heaven
I need a spoonful of it too😄
and it can even send someone straight to heaven too lol
@@readysetmood9473 " Pang last trip"
When his in-laws ask him what he does for a living.
“I eat food and post it on UA-cam .” 😂
The way you made that dipping sauce for the fried tuna fin is a 100% Filipino style
"It's 8 o'clock in the morning right now and I pretty much ate a cow" 😂😂😂❤
Thank you for doing this Mike. We, Filipinos, need to see more of the Southern part of the Philippines in mainstream because Mindanao hasn’t been getting the feature it deserves. I hope this series jumpstarts a change of perspective to my fellow northern people.
I myself haven’t been to Mindanao and this feature just made Davao on top of my to-go list. You might not realize it, but this one might actually have an impact to them younger pinoys.

*This tapa from Sana’s is actually from the carabao (water buffalo). We did a whole video on this spot and loved our experience there*
No there is a tapa fish also and diff kind
ALL KPOP Random Vidy Was just talking about this specific tapa from Sana’s
It actually depends. But it's mostly beef.
@@lanceresultay014 he is talking about sana, the first stop of mikey. Their tapa is carabao, from the name of their resto itself. Sana's kabawan. Kabaw means carabao in bisaya.
Hahaha....I didn't know either. Only had beef tapa growing up. What's the difference taste like??
no wonder we got a lot of foreigners travelling to the philippines: cheap eats, can talk to anyone because english is well spoken and the people!
A lot of filipino dishes are meant to be eaten with rice. Especially meals with soups and sauces like that bulalo, pour that over the rice and have a good time.
Daniel Galang *majority
he was just avoiding to eat a lot of rice coz it makes him full faster
Mike, you simply just made me hungry looking at you eating "Bulalo".
You made me proud of becoming a Filipino. Mabuhay!
*The tuna in Davao is on another level!*
I like that i can hear people speaking in the background because when people film like eating videos its usually just music and i grew up with a noisy family and now that i live alone now i miss them so i really like it when people just talking in a background...and also RIP papa 😢😊
Mike: *casually* So I'll be eating this Tuna Sperm
Also Mike: I'm afraid of this Tuna eyeball
He expected another kind of ball.
Here in Brazil we eat eyeballs too (not all the younger generation though) but ive never heard of tuna sperm???? Maybe because we mostly eat other fishes and tuna is only canned... idk
It's IRONIC isn't it
The tuna eyeball soup we dont normally go after with the eye ball the soup is the one we look forward not the eyeball

It's amazing that you still remembered the names of the places you've previously visited in the philippines
3:40am UK and watching on an empty stomach. Time to raid the fridge.

I actually tried durian for the first time expecting the worst...
One of the best fruits I ever had
Its good but u taste the smell 😂
Sorry for my bad English I'm not Americans
there are 2 types, soft and medium hard. The softer it is, the stronger the flavour.

The sour taste of the sinigang doesn't come from vinegar but from sour fruits like tamarind or kamias or tomato.
in Visayas, we use batwan. I wish we could mass produce them and form a cult around it lol

Mike literally devours the whole course with a single rice and im pretty sure that he would finished the chicken before the rice.

Sana’s is such a gem - a must visit when in Davao!
Lol I’m Filipino and I avoid the seeds in calamansi. Mike justs squeezes it all on his food lmao
you just said it he is not a filipino.
The seeds are ok as long as you don't chew then if you want to you pair it with something sweet or salty so that you won't notice that you ate a calamansi seed
I love your videos I just hate the fact that I don't have anything to eat right now
gosh me too!
Haha hi Army!! 😂💜💜
@@deardiary9043 I always make sure I'm eating something before I watch Mikey's videos.
Thank you for coming! God speed!
Tuna eyeballs... the cheapest cut of tuna, but in my town it's hard to get your hands on one because either the fish vendors keep it to themselves or someone has already bought it and made soup with it... it's my mom and brother's favorite part of the tuna, mine is the collar (grilled)
I like this guy, he is so honest. He is always honestly telling if the food is good or bad.
Woow, thank you for coming to Davao. 😊😊I'm from davao and I'm one of your subscriber.

the sour ingredient of sinigang is not vinegar, it's tamarind.
@komentarista but paksiw is not a soup dish, it's more like a boiled pickled fish.
Can use anything sour
That one vinegar mention ruined the entire video for me. I'm sure the rest of the video was good but couldn't stand to watch the rest after that. :P
sinigang mix, usually hehe
We love tamarind here in Brazil too, especially the juice
Thank you for enjoying Filipino food in the Southern part of the Philippines. There are more than 7,000 islands with amazing food.

Hey Mike I love your videos and your channel and all your reviews are awesome and you teach me lessons and food all the time. I love your channel. Keep it up
My wife and I love your channel, we had to run to the grocery buy a bunch of different style ramen noodles and chop stixs before we could properly sit down and watch your shows!
i really like how you describe the foods that you're eating...i hope the next time you come here, visit the cordilleras..
Sana's is a great place. Me and my gf went there for a normal lunch. When we ordered the bulalo, the cook smiled and went to the kitchen, when he went back he brought us a huge knife then a few seconds he brought the freakin HUGE bulalo bowl with meat that can feed 2 families in it. Go try General Santos The Tuna Capital of The Philippines :)
yeah..... there's so much to try.
Streets are much cleaner than davao and road and highways are more wide, much better infrastructure in General Santos. General Santos has a lot to offer, and no beggars like Davao which is full of them.
