Then came the one-two punch of c-19 empty arenas and the company folding shortly after.
Now, about 5 YEARS LATER, it's like "look at our huge acquisition!" Not exactly striking while the iron is hot there, AEW.
@@DefendYoungstown It's true. He's pretty good if produced right. His match with Danielson last year was pretty damned good for the most part.
The only story the talent in AEW puts effort into telling is, “Everything is great!”, to Tony Khan.
At this rate, Tony's dad should pull some strings and have Donald Trump on the show
You don't understand. It's COLD OUT! People don't tend to be inside just sitting around their TV when the wind chill is -10. That's the pinnacle of sports, festivals, and outdoor activities.
The world wants to see Garcia beat Okada, Juice explode his leg, and various incoherent angles with nonexistent conclusions, THEY ARE JUST BUSY!
I had to plant my toilet so I couldn't watch.
This stuff is far better to just listen to the Cornette review during commutes than to waste time watching
As usual, they didn't get any. The Budget Hotel Breakfast Tournament turns off everyone except the dirt sheet writers.
AEW Ratings same old 100-200,000 viewers from 2019-Now
And sooner or later, Tony Klown is going to realize that having those Cosco guys appear on AEW isn't helping with the low ratings and low attendance either
AEW is the modern day version of TNA, a distant two with WWE rejects.
To be fair a drone buzzing around with a light on it is has waayyyyy more to offer than AEW.
Banidido vignette was innovative pal
At least they are beating Stephen Colbert, so there’s that.
Even an MJF promo couldn't save them.
Good morning sir
I dunno about America but I was watching human vs hamster

And Jim points out the key right there. All those things combined he mentioned aren't only not bringing in new fans, but driving all their old fans away.
I saw somewhere a show topped out at 144,000 viewers, that can't be real?
*I need to start listing these excuses that the marks come up with for these ratings. I could use some new excuses to call in sick at work.*
I tried this past week to watch some of Dynamite. When I saw it was Claudio vs Brodie King in the main event, I was really surprised. That belongs in the middle of the show. The booking in AEW is just abysmal.
Maybe the best thing for AEW is just going to one hour shows, 2 hour PPV’s. That way they can keep the 3 show rotation but its only 3 hours of total TV meaning Tony would be forced to think a lot harder about the spots he puts people in since there now are fewer.
People have to realize theres a reason why WWE let these people go. It’s like when a football or baseball team lets a player walk, there’s always a reason…
Exactly! Tony loves washed, old, WWE midcarders.
So what we're saying is that: SHELTON BENJAMIN IS A DRAW!!! At least, THIS night he was.
@10:53: That's because those big names weren't surprising or shocking fans by being predictable when they left (mostly) WWE to join AEW. The only people who were excited about their appearance were the mark fans and media. But failing to understand that almost any ex WWE wrestler who joins AEW. Tends to flop within a few months to a year after joining the company
Losing Cody hurt the most
Thanks for giving me something to look forward to on Wednesdays.
Espn news bringing the ratings with “Stadium Bathroom Stains”. 900,000 viewers.
@3:41...Cornette: "I can't..." 🤣🤣🤣 That's how bad the ratings are with AEW! 🤣🤣🤣
Fortunately for the biggest indy company in the world, theyll be on streaming soon and no one will know how low these numbers can sink.
Cult, is there somewhere to get the podcast sooner? By the time I get a full session it’s 7-14 days after the fact ,
Long gone are the days when the golden years of AEW was when a Dark Order members that didn't know how to throw a punch.
If this company is somehow alive in 3 years they’ll be competing with TNA for ratings
TNA is actually growing. Their live audience attendance is getting bigger. For 2025 they are expanding to do 7,500+ buildings for their major PPVs. With TNA renaming the January PPV from Hard To Kill to Genesis I wouldn't be surprised they announce a TV deal then. If that happens AEW is deader than dead.
What makes you think they won't ?
@@kd17Burger I'm just being realistic and not setting myself up for disappointment. If it happens then I'll get excited.
They are also going to be doing their first live Impact on January 23rd, so they could be saving it for then.
TNA is actually good.
@@vonVile they will be around for decades
The Cornette Gang. They are a wild bunch of rascals.
this shit really is a modern tragedy. except more people are laughing than crying.
My favorite weekly episode from Mr Cornette. 😊
Remember when Vince said Cesaro couldn’t draw and everyone lost their minds?
Yes I was waiting
Listening to this after the AEW ratings omnibus, really shows the gravity of the situation. Jim was concerned when they dropped to 800,000. And here we are.
Bandito video is where I used to rent my movies in the 80's and early 90's..
Folks, we’re getting a sub 500k dynamite by next February. I can’t see that not happening. Horrendous year for AEW, 300k weekly viewers have abandoned ship.
