Thanks. I'm just getting back into honda tuning after some years off and been wondering where to get that cable since moates went out off business. Luckily I found my emulator, chip burner and everything else I used to tune with in my garage.
Yeah Moates has been a player in the ecu tuning world for a long time. It's so sad that they're gone. They used to be one of the more affordable ways to tune with really good support on their products.
@@moejoegaming9838 Your engine doesn't matter. The question is what ecu are you running? If you're on the stock ecu, which is obd0, no one or not many would support that. Your best option is to convert to obd1. If you're already obd1, then you need to modify your ecu by chipping it and either installing a socket with chip or a RTP.
I think most tuners prefer to tune using more convenient methods now like RTP with built in datalogging or using a stand alone ecu etc. The old methods of chips and cable logging etc are old school for them. But still works great for self street tuning. 😁
@@BudgetGears main reason is that the main company that provided emulators , cables, and chip kits went out of business. So every one moved up to rtp boards. If you can find an emulator , cable and chip burner it's pretty much the same as using a rtp board.
Great vid bud, I am looking at a cable on AMZN and it has the White as TX and the Green as RX is this a manufactures change of did you get it mixed up in the video? Keep up the great work and Thanks! Thanks. No, I didn't get the wiring mixed up. The wire color doesn't matter, the manufacturers can use any color for the wiring. The main thing is to go with what they provide for wiring. My video is correctly wired as per what I have from the manufacturer of my cable. A different manufacturer may use the same colors or different. Just go with what each wire does instead of the color.
hi.. @budgetgears i tried with usb ttl ft232, when i click star on HTS then the message " cant connect with ecu on com3 see the debug logs for the issue " What is wrong?
i did exactly how u told in the video and yet i recieve debugs like cant connect to ecu, com port cant be opened, cached com port and so on.. please help me.. i have been stuck here forever and my car is not even running right i am just trying to fig it out please.. i am using hts 2.15 in windows 11
Its so you can datalog. I don't know all the technical reasons, but its something thats always been done since people started modifying these ecus. Its to do with the datalog communication. Most of the tuning programs will require you to remove it. It does not harm the ecu unless you damage your ecu removing it incorrectly. So if you're familiar with electronics, you should be fine.
friend, i'm from portugal. I watch your videos. I would like to know how to send shots with very long flames. I don't know what the proper name for this is 2 step or launch control I don't know. but I would like to know how to do it even at any rpm and to send very large shots with really aggressive flames. if you could make a tutorial one of these days
Thanks for watching! I'm not really sure how to tune for flames. Tuning isn't really my specialty. I think its part of the popcorn mod settings. I'm not too sure how it works, but I'm assuming it's running very rich and messing with timing to do it, which in theory isn't really good for the engine.
It's probably best for you to search up the cable yourself. The seller I purchased from is long gone. Different sites would have different prices. I did a quick search on Ebay for you and here's another seller, but it's not as cheap as what I paid. www.ebay.ca/itm/263914476814?hash=item3d7287550e:g:5xEAAOSwDyxbjPhK&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA4ER310rN34dRvkUjYv4pcuBXvCnMQi8BXkwARL13NKF6zRkoKPDhp7FtYf%2FpENaHZ92Nsq4OsycxWghCV1F9JC1%2BShITA1gwSGiEI3a9L%2BlygUE1IbztSg5ueuxFs71tW%2FEZOHSpXQpShQUFolHgwFAr8jKOciomzkzi7BRWJR8xXxVvToHGp%2Fu1pJKh53ZZ6vm2aG5oLTz5UuGWDl6pZmPsXFLWUhSZGW786n9rxZGo6G2YYaMjJHWGjQ4%2FuOulIrah8mpWDKf3oMO3ZatAmgDIVXIlZSNvDlJLxdN2COqZ%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR6LZ1P7lYA
Hi! I have a question, can you change the ECU map from the computer? I mean just with the ttl cable, or is something else needed? sorry if you don't understand, I don't speak English
No, the cable is just datalogging. You need an emulator and a separate cable to the emulator to change the map. These are 2 separate processes on the ECU.
@@santiagogarcia587 Use Google. There are a lot of options for emulators. You can even get stand alone ECU's for tuning. I suggest do some research on what you want to use. I cant recommend anything specific because its up to personal preference.
Depends on which version of the bmulator you have. Some didnt come with a datalogger like mine. So if you don't have a datalogger then yes you need it. If you do have datalogger then no.

Can you burn base maps onto the chip from the data logging cable
No tuner wants to tune this way in my area and u got my hatch running happy at 8 psi

What does your debug log say? Also, make sure you have the correct com port selected in your options in HTS.

i am using hts 2.15 in windows 11
Ive already removed j12 usdm ecu but it says its still inplace detect
I have a wire and got the drivers running a bmtuning emulater and it keeps timing me out when I try to data log on hts any ideas
same as mine everytime i press datalog it says operation timed out
Hello can i ask. Why does the J12 resistor need to be removed? And also, does it harm the ecu? Thank you!
