    To be honest. I had this replica. It was left in the car for 1 month. After the month of sun the stiches and glue went bad and the leather started to going off. There might be some better replicas I guess. I switched to original one.

      So far it's been fine. I've had it on for about 3 months now. Always in the sun when I drive the car and it's been very hot this year. Maybe this is one of the better replicas? There were days in the sun where it was very hot to touch. I'm trying to see how long it'll last till I have to change back to my authentic Momo. @@user-fm9yj8cy9f yes, timing should be done anytime you mess with the distributor. I checked timing and it was spot on. The slow starting is intentional by the manufacturer. You can already see what I used to make the harness in the video. It's just crimping wires and plugging them into the connectors. If you're asking about the wiring, I can't help you there. Every tucked harness out there can be wired differently. You need to take the time and map all your wires to where each wire goes. That's the part you need to do before tackling any wiring project.

    • @BudgetGears

    Can I go this on a 2000 civic lx

    So you're saying that you dont need the bushings that are the EXACT ones forbyour model? I have a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country, and NO ONE has the bushings for that model so I bought an assortment pack. Is that ok?

      @BudgetGears Місяць тому

      @@JohnnySantiago Yes, that's correct and that is fine to get an assortment. They have different sized assortment packs too. So you may want to take a look at what yours looks like and then make sure your assortment pack has a similar size you need.

    if i already have a d16y7 wiring harness could i use that because i have a base model crx which is dpfi and i want to skip as much wiring as possible

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears Місяць тому

      No, as I emphasized in the video, use your original engine wiring harness and modify for changes. Using a d16y7 engine harness is going to be a nightmare of wiring. The easiest way is orignal engine harness. Or you can buy a tucked wire harness with the correct subharness.

      @@BudgetGearsalright, what about the transmission because thats one of the reasons im doing the engine swap, its a 5speed crx and im putting a 97 lx transmission in it (aswell 5speed)

      @@BudgetGearsanother thing is the engine is a d16y7 bottom end and i have a d16y8 head i’m putting on it what are some suggestions youd have

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears 29 днів тому

      @@kalebkroeger3097 I'd recommend reusing your original cable tranmission if you can. Much easier to just reuse that. You can use the 97 lx transmission, but you'll need the hydro mount and t bracket and a hydro to cable kit. Much more costly to run and the lx transmission is not a desirable transmission. Unless you prefer a longer gear transmission. Most would want a short gear transmission from the Y8.

    • @BudgetGears
      @BudgetGears 29 днів тому

      @@kalebkroeger3097 No suggestions here. It should run pretty much the same as a stock Y8. Personally, I'd prefer to run a complete Y8 instead of a mini-me d series because you can usually pick up a complete Y8 for cheap.

    I'm curious to see the center spokes more closely. 1. compare the brushed finish 2. the older fakes didn't have filleted edges to match the genuine

      I've had it on for about 3 months now and it's still fine. Always in the sun when I drive the car and it's been very hot this year.There were days where it got very hot to the touch while in the sun. As soon as it starts to go bad, I'll change back to my authentic Momo.
