Knowing more about Daniel now, this is one of the only songs that, without fail, makes me tear up, and I can’t stop the track from finishing.
The way he phrases how that true love is also trying to find you, too, is probably one of the most heartbreaking sentiments I may have ever heard.
True love can’t find you until you both step out into the light, the light.
I think this is a very tough, and honest way of saying that we all need to let go of our pasts, and let true love find you.
I know it will.
It’s Daniel’s conviction that has drawn all of us to him.
And this cover is such a special embodiment of Daniel’s vision.

Daniel Johnston’s music impacted me heavily, his death was one of the first times I truly felt personally sad about losing an artist. You did a beautiful job covering this, I love it!

i was driving with someone important to me about 3 months ago at around 12:30 am. Something happened during that drive that i regret tremendously. A playlist of mine was playing in the car and this song was on it. I remember the song came on in the dead silence of the car. Because of that this song holds a really painful memory for me, but the irony is it fits what happened perfectly. Thanks for doing a cover of this. It makes the memory a little easier.

Amazing cover I love it
I always cry how this song gives me hope and despair at the same time. It is just hard to reach out to people and, more often than not, they get better from you reaching out whilr you yourself stays on the gutter of misery and self doubt. It is also hard to be really transparent to people who had gone through a lot of bad things and is looking up to you as a brother, friend, or loved-one. I think the message of the song really popped more when an old person played it because it makes me believe more about the song's message of hope while, at the same time, makes me fearless of the nihilistic nature of the song.
this is absolutely amazing
