Honestly this is soooo weird for me.. only been playing about 3months an ive wanted since the beginning to do the same dam thing an never knew thats what Eddie did was cross a Gibson LP with a Fender Stratocaster lol.. thats awesome
Eddie was on a flight with a Kramer executive and one thing led to another. It was totally by chance. They had an early tremolo system that stayed in tune and Eddie decided to go with them. A couple years later tho the Floyd rose came out lol
@@TheGuitarHistorian yup, the first trem he used with his kramers before FR was the Rockinger. Eddie used the early versions of the Floyd Rose on Bumblebee and Frankie, then FR started to work with Kramer and we know the rest.
All correct! Kramer cornered the market on the rockinger and later the Floyd rose. Ed also liked Kramer’s owner Dennis Beradi. It was **highly** suspected that Ed got a cut of Kramer ownership in exchange for his endorsement and the run of the factory for several one off guitars like the 1984, 5150, the hot for teacher Kramer, and the Kramer Frankie. And the old pictures that surfaced shock the system with the huge number of Kramer’s with identical stripe jobs as the original 5150. If Kramer made a real evh model, they would have never gone belly up the first time!
That's the first I heard of some of type of part ownership and I don't buy it . Ed's endorsement with Kramer Guitars was for free because their profit margin was small . If they paid him they would have to raise the price of their guitars .
You sure it was Northern Ash? There has been controversy about that.....some people who held the guitar said it's light.....it's at the Smithsonian isn't it....would love to know it's weight.
Fabulous guitarist AND pianist! Truly gifted. I play keyboards and still struggle with guitar.
Like Divinci Eddie was an artist and an inventor. EVH was on the same wavelength as the smartest person to ever exist. R.I.P.
The greatest guitar player of our lifetimes began his journey with the immortal words: "okay, I'll play your stupid guitar."
It's like Excaliber without King Arthur. This guitar will never sound the same. It will never be played the same. This is the end! RIP Eddie!!!
A guitar Historian that just called the legendary Wayne Charvel..Wayne Carvel..seriously?
Right twice, WTF!
In addition to guitars he also sold "Fudgy to 🐋 Whale" cakes too, lol!
So Eddie was basically a scientist who also happened to play the guitar _real good._
Just like Brian May, astrophysicist!
"Real good"? Understatement of a lifetime.
Nice one....keep up the good work! Do you have one on Jack White from the White Stripes Airline?
So even EVH didn't like the placement of the strat volume knob...lol

More players should take to build their own and modify as well.
Plz so the rhandy rhodes guitar
Randy Rhoads
How many Frankie's did they make in 2020?
Great video. How did Kramer jump into Eddie's repertoire?

Guitars can speak
His dad played on a few deep track tracks on Van Halen albums. He’s listed on the credits

"Wayne Carvel" ? Really?
Long live eddie
if guitars could speak the frankenstrat would scream in pain
You say it.. It was Eddie's destiny.
