"Bill Watt Memorial." I genuinely 'awwed' at that. Lovely reference, guys. May Bill and his Iron Stomach (and lack of human taste buds) never be forgotten.
Fun Fact: Carrots were originally purple. The Dutch selectively bred them to be orange to celebrate the House of Orange. You can still totally find purple carrots
I hope the Lego thing becomes a regular event. Maybe not on Loading Ready Live, for time concerns, but it would be great to see on like a Tuesday afternoon every few weeks.
At that point, just have an audio reading of the instructions that plays only once as they build. And then make it a race between three people to see who put it together best.
i saw this anime in the store i work at about 6 months ago and thought of llr when i saw it because of some ones immense fear of bears. this just seems to be the source of all her fears made manifest. YOU MUST MAKE HER WATCH
As an anime fan, the anime segment in this show was great! A good selection of titles and they did a great job picking related titles from other series. Would definitely enjoy another session of it!
Ian did a good job on the anime segment. The red herring titles were a nice bonus for anime fans. I would've liked if he also touched on the "____ is also a real anime" aspect (if only because Humanity Has Declined is a delightful show), but I suppose there are more series available for next time this way.
"To be honest, this show is actually about some fairly in-depth commentary and criticism of the way that Japanese people treat same-sex relationships." "And bears?" The bears are incidental.
Ian: O'Reilly's Sour Cream and Onion where amazing! I remember having those when I was a kid. Think, almost gooey with flavour. My God, though, I don't want my creme egg tasting like that.
I know that the card for "Who's that amine" was a mistake, but I would totally watch that segment (or at least Crapshot). "Is that 2-aminopentane?" "No, I'm afraid that's actually butylamine."
Ok so I've really got to thank you guys and especially Ian. I've read the "Yokohama shopping trip" manga because of this and it imediatly became one of my favourites. The charakters, the pace. Awesome. And I probably wouldn't have heard about it, if it wasn't for Ians choice in this game. And then I though, the hell, let's try "Lesbian bear storm". And you beginn watching it and think "What the...? Oh yeah It's an Anime." But I always had Ians comment about acceptance in my mind, so I kept watching. And If you can get around the crazy style it actually goes quite deep an feelings and emotions. Which I honestly didn't expect. So thanks to you I did not find one but two awesome Animes/Mangas. So yeah, keep on the good work!
Oh hey they are using the Buzz! controlers. just wondering how did you get them to work like that..... just seen that they say in the ep that someone gave them software
Ben's reaction to end that Feed Dump. Yeeeeap. Well done. ... Being able to read the Images spoils Ian's game for me. My fun is now hearing them explain the logic of their horrible mistaken decisions XD;.
Speech Jamming. They're playing back his own audio into his ears on a delay. This usually messes with people's ability to talk properly. Cam was doing surprisingly well in my opinion.
I just watched Yurikuma Arashi with my friend last night.... After watching it, I made the Cam face at 41:20. I have no idea what this show is about, but I agree with Beej's assessment of "choice". 4.5/5 will bear through it again.
As a gamedev, I totally agree with Graham and Cory during the asklrr, I wish I watched it Live... too bad its kinda out of my timezone :P And I totally sang along with "What's up?" :D Edit: also Poor Cam...
What delay is the Speech Jammer set to? I have mine set at one level and find it really doesn't affect me much at all, and I don't know if I should be lowering it, increasing it, or what.
why the cream eggs so small and in plastic, are those the same packaging and sizew as your regular cream eggs. in the uk theyre larger and wrapped in foil
Lesbian Bear storm is very good but confusing as hell, i think its made by the same people as Penguindrum, which was also very good but confusing as hell. Would recommend both.
New glasses look good, Graham! EDIT: Why didn't the Emoji Movie chocolatiers include a poop emoji candy? EDITx2: When even BEEJ says a food is bad, you know it must be vile. EDITx3: Cameron's pen-twirling technique-STILL NOT DISRUPTED by speech jamming.
Ooh boy. Look at all that gross chocolate. Oh well! Time to go inhale an unholy amount of jelly beans! Those carrot cake Kisses don't have chocolate in 'em though. Get those over here too.
You bastards! You made me look up LBS without telling me it was the same director who did Revolutionary Girl Utena! How can a plot be so plainly explained and yet so densely incomprehensible?
as a tax accountant i might suggest investing in a good lawyer, just in case. also if you could tell me more about your moon bank i think we could have a really useful tax haven.
Ben ~ "Cadbury took the most pure thing in the world, which is chocolate and they fucked it." Then they horribly overcharge for it. Those things are like $1.30 each here in canada.
DeadnCold Not to... uh.. flaunt my privilege, but $1.30 for essentially a gourmet luxury item isn't that bad. It's more than the$0.58 I'm accustomed to paying for a 3 musketeers, bit it's not that bad.
It is when you realise that a Caramilk chocolate bar that the first egg they tried is based on costs about a $1 and is 48 grams compared to the eggs 25 grams. They charge you 30 cents more for almost half the candy just because it's easter themed.
Wow. While I loved the comedy, I have some kind of sugar issue with my blood. That candy taste test gives me the shakes. I could never eat that much sugar!
I have a friend who can pick music notes by ear. It is fascinating but unbelievably annoying. Is is fun though because that means he is super sensitive to sound so we attempt to ruin his brain with loops of Tim Minchin's F-Sharp.
"He's growing up now, and can spread his wings."
He's NINETEEN!
"Bill Watt Memorial." I genuinely 'awwed' at that. Lovely reference, guys. May Bill and his Iron Stomach (and lack of human taste buds) never be forgotten.
Yeah, I got that too. Didn't help that I recently went back to some old sketches that had him in them.
Felt the same way immediately.
I didn't catch that in the live watch. RIP mate.
That hit me right in the spot and I literally clapped and smiled. Man I miss Bill, I can only imagine what kind of hole Bill left in LRR's life.
Bill ... :(
Fun Fact: Carrots were originally purple. The Dutch selectively bred them to be orange to celebrate the House of Orange.
You can still totally find purple carrots
That's quite the legacy. Was the color orange named after them, too? At this point I wouldn't be surprised.
No, the colour orange was actually named after the Orange. Before then, oranges were simply considered to be an odd shade of red.
Tom Magennis Actually, both the color and the fruit were named after the tree.
Tom Magennis yeah, it was called, essentially, “yellowred”
The look of betrayal on Cori's face after eating the Chips Ahoy egg was heartbreaking.

Considering Kathleen's well documented fear of bears I was surprised it didn't come up during Lesbian Bear Storm :D
Cotton candy is called Fairy Floss in Australia.
and candy floss in other areas
I hope the Lego thing becomes a regular event. Maybe not on Loading Ready Live, for time concerns, but it would be great to see on like a Tuesday afternoon every few weeks.
AFK special, perhaps?
Alternative version of the Lego, no speech jam but the builder is in another room and cant communicate with the person giving instructions
At that point, just have an audio reading of the instructions that plays only once as they build. And then make it a race between three people to see who put it together best.
that was one of the smoothest intros in a while! James is paying off!
that intro-to-james-explains-the-first-show transition was smooth af! you guys are getting awesome at that! :D
"Bears Before Flowers" Well, it's like any frat-bro will tell you.
Ursos before Rose.
i saw this anime in the store i work at about 6 months ago and thought of llr when i saw it because of some ones immense fear of bears. this just seems to be the source of all her fears made manifest. YOU MUST MAKE HER WATCH
As an anime fan, the anime segment in this show was great! A good selection of titles and they did a great job picking related titles from other series. Would definitely enjoy another session of it!
I hope they put up a historical marker in the "Bill Watt Memorial Food Zone". Nice idea, Crew.
amazing as always!
Ian did a good job on the anime segment. The red herring titles were a nice bonus for anime fans. I would've liked if he also touched on the "____ is also a real anime" aspect (if only because Humanity Has Declined is a delightful show), but I suppose there are more series available for next time this way.
I absolutely love the Cam and Ben Lego bit, omg...it was so funny. I love those two.
"To be honest, this show is actually about some fairly in-depth commentary and criticism of the way that Japanese people treat same-sex relationships."
"And bears?"
The bears are incidental.
oh god I remember actual Gravitation and I lost it when that name showed up
No sound errors in the intro! Good job guys! ... no...no sarcasm. You all did well. Yay!
your cadbury taste amuses me since i ate all of those and miss them already
Cameron wearing the Cameron mask during the fly-through was deeply unsettling. I haven't slept in weeks.
This reminds me of QI, when they tested the voice lockinbg on various people and it worked, then had no effect on alan davies.
James does a 360 no scope and nailed it
I feel so sorry for Cam during the last segment, the suffering is very clear in his voice.
Hey, Graham! I like your new glasses, they really suit you.
Watching this in 2019, still waiting for routine.
I would so watch a full stream of just the lego segment
Ok so I've really got to thank you guys and especially Ian.
I've read the "Yokohama shopping trip" manga because of this and it imediatly became one of my favourites. The charakters, the pace. Awesome. And I probably wouldn't have heard about it, if it wasn't for Ians choice in this game.

So thanks to you I did not find one but two awesome Animes/Mangas.
So yeah, keep on the good work!
I figured it was that title based solely on the amount of characters in the title.
Oh hey they are using the Buzz! controlers. just wondering how did you get them to work like that..... just seen that they say in the ep that someone gave them software
"Shark Week", never heard that one before.
Are these guys from Vancouver, and if so How have i not met any of them yet? Awesome tho. love ya guys.
Who else cracked up as soon as they saw "Gravitation?"
The carrot cake Kisses looked like game board pieces
Fun fact: Cotton candy is called suikerspin in Dutch (sugar-spider). I assume it's short for like "sugar spiderweb" or something.
Ben's reaction to end that Feed Dump. Yeeeeap. Well done. ... Being able to read the Images spoils Ian's game for me. My fun is now hearing them explain the logic of their horrible mistaken decisions XD;.
how have they broken camerons perfect voice in the lego bit? he sounds like an old computer reading
no, it seems fun for everyone watching
Speech Jamming. They're playing back his own audio into his ears on a delay. This usually messes with people's ability to talk properly. Cam was doing surprisingly well in my opinion.
Is Ben the one advocating for speech jamming bits on this show? He's been in both of the bits that used them. I still don't find them that funny.
Speechjamming is a popular bit on Desert Bus. I get the impression it's the sort of thing that is hilarious in person, or with a live chat.
I just watched Yurikuma Arashi with my friend last night.... After watching it, I made the Cam face at 41:20.
I have no idea what this show is about, but I agree with Beej's assessment of "choice". 4.5/5 will bear through it again.

Hey! That intro went entirely unbotched! Is that the first one? Maybe!
why the cream eggs so small and in plastic, are those the same packaging and sizew as your regular cream eggs. in the uk theyre larger and wrapped in foil
Did everyone get haircuts at the same time? I was especially shocked by Graham's new look.
Man, to return to a time when I didn't know about the Emoji Movie.
Watching this made my teeth hurt
52:05 that's why I looooove Crapshoots
I did not know I was on any list.
ben tilted me out SO HARD when he called joe-looies "josh louis"
"Wow, there's dill in it! Neat!"
oh christ the lego thing was so funny
lesbian bear storm is on crunchyroll. I'll be right back
saving lives out here
I had one of those Oreo eggs. I don't remember it being that bad.
Lesbian Bear storm is very good but confusing as hell, i think its made by the same people as Penguindrum, which was also very good but confusing as hell. Would recommend both.
that caramel oozing out of the egg looks like tho
Easy, the skill of learning
the sheriff doesn't fire a shot in our wedding. he kicks back while dad does the shooting for him
What does "all my spoons become slotted" mean? is that a Canadian expression?
This looks terrifying
That candy floss looks like pipe lagging.
I mean, Ben has a point. Even bad chocolate is still at some level chocolate. And all choclate is good; granted, at varying levels.
Ben "I still have a floppy sword" Ulmer
oh god the Lego segment was painful to watch
wurmsrus I know, I love Ben but... god damn, how do you mess up that badly?!
I like my peeps stale. I like them super chewy.
Keep talking and nobody legos needs to be a weekly event!
Sure, just keep it off of LRL so I don't have to skip any segments.
10:52 Well this seems fun.
As someone from Birmingham, England, the birthplace of Cadbury chocolate, I am offended by those eggs. WTF Cadbury?
Ooh boy. Look at all that gross chocolate. Oh well! Time to go inhale an unholy amount of jelly beans! Those carrot cake Kisses don't have chocolate in 'em though. Get those over here too.
Oh my god that much sugar with no water to cut it is horrifying. Just thinking about it makes my tongue feel nasty.
I almost died at Bears before Flowers. Boys before (or over) Flowers is pretty much my favorite Kdrama.
You bastards! You made me look up LBS without telling me it was the same director who did Revolutionary Girl Utena!
How can a plot be so plainly explained and yet so densely incomprehensible?
Yaaaay spoilers for Dark Souls 3 DLC I haven't played yet :(
Emoji chocolate, now with BOLD SOY
Ben just likes everything but marshmallows
as a tax accountant i might suggest investing in a good lawyer, just in case. also if you could tell me more about your moon bank i think we could have a really useful tax haven.
I've seen bartender, it's quite good.
Graham has "Heard" of F3... A pornographic anime.
Oh god, as soon as I heard creme eggs I knew what was up. Those oreo creme eggs are, as Graham put it, fuck awful.
I once attempted to devour an entire Cadbury Creme Egg in one go. It returned to the outside in less than a minute.
It's okay Ben, I hate Peeps too.
You looked like you were having a nightmare in your mouth at the end of that segment Graham.
Where can I watch Lesbian Bear Storm
Crunchyroll, apparently.
no those kisses are sorry pieces
Different other oil.
Cameron sounds like Emo Philips
Aircarggg
The emoji movie was shut down I believe due to extreme backlash
Regrettably no.
There is no god
CHULP 75 Faith in humanity restored.
robbthewolfking Faith in humanity lost again.
my parents sent me that cotton candy...
The bucket or the grape carrot turd?
Ben ~ "Cadbury took the most pure thing in the world, which is chocolate and they fucked it."

Wow. While I loved the comedy, I have some kind of sugar issue with my blood. That candy taste test gives me the shakes. I could never eat that much sugar!
I have no idea why they think anime makes them want to drink
I have a friend who can pick music notes by ear. It is fascinating but unbelievably annoying. Is is fun though because that means he is super sensitive to sound so we attempt to ruin his brain with loops of Tim Minchin's F-Sharp.
Real talk though, Yuri Bear Storm sounds fucking stupid but it will actually destroy your heart. Be warned.
I think the LEGO segment would have been better without the speech jammer, or maybe that's because speech jamming squicks me out.
Omg I thought ben was doing that on purpose as well. Wtf been, have you ever Legoed in your life? Lol
"BadCzechPun" ... all the Czech puns are bad, tho.
Hearing the normally well spoken Cameron suffer through that was beyond amusing. Much love to you all!
"H-help me"
BEAR ALARM
WTF Is that a Cam mask?
Yep. Usually it's just in the AFK/Feed Dump Studio (I forgot the official name) as one of the items on the shelves.
Ugh. Fruit flies. I have friends at work who are doing stuff with fruit flies. They're the worst.
