I lifted weights with Don and Al green in Louisville YMCA every Tuesday morning
The golden years of wrestling one of the heavenly bodies big Hal Green against the fablous Jackie Fargo RIP great ones
These were the days, wrestling at its best. Even as a kid , I attended many matches in my days at the fairgrounds. Loved going and seeing these crowds, they really got into these great events.
It's kinda sad because these days and stars are all gone but we still have our memories and the videos, hopefully are still available. I've been going to matches for over 65 years.
I love the crowd reactions more than anything.
No turn buckle pads...those were the days!
Jackie Fargo rocked. My cousin had pix taken with him at shows they worked together back in the 90s. He looked like he was up in years even back then.
Al passed 3 days ago.. both are sadly gone now.
Damn he was one of my favorite heels as a kid
Frank D. Garrett .thats my uncle.
Wow... Al Greene back in the day. Thanks for the memories!
Al was the only man to beat Jackie in a hair match
Missing Lance
Jackie fargo... the king of Memphis before Lawler...2 out of 3 falls..wow.....memphis wrestling had just left the Ellis Auditorium with the capacity of a 2 or 3 o thousands to the Mid South Coliseum holding over 10,000...as heels Al and Don Green were perfect heels
Jackie was recently hospitalized with pneumonia in both lungs. Let's keep him in our prayers.
Big Al back in the days .Great wrestling in the Eillis Auto do um I was a kid what a great joy in my life. Memphis home of the greatest wrestling Forever!
As a young child I hated 2 out of 3 falls. It always went 3 falls and that meant less individual paired matches on tv.
Awesome. Even Greene blowing that cue to let step aside and let Fargo miss the punch and fall through the ropes, necessitating re doing it, doesn't put a damper on it. The crowd is so hot for them.
Southern wrestling at its best! Back when it was believable!
The promos of the Matches were great ! They must be lost foever.
The Fabulous Jackie Fargo!
No apron skirt back in those days?
memphis was bare bones in 1972 too.
