The Justis is really good on the groom, feels almost like a GS ski. It’s also have a good kick out of the turn, but you really need to know how to carv. If you are the guy who prioritizes going fast more then actually staying on the edge, the rocker profile will make the skew feel wobbly. Edge the skie and make those deep stacks and it’s extremely fun. In the off pist it demands good technique and, if you have that it can be quick and nimble even In moguls

Looking at the Atris, Justis and Declivity 102. I want to mount shifts on whatever ski I choose. The hope is to get a wider all mountain ski that will serve me well with heavy use in the resort, but can also provide me with the ability to dabble in short tours. Then, if touring is something I pickup on and do more, I would get dedicated touring gear. Any recommendations? I am a pretty middle of the road skier when it comes to both size and aggressiveness.

How does the Astris compare to the Fischer Ranger 102? Looking to add a resort only ski to daily at Vail, primarily in the back bowls. I’ve been relegated to only my Vision 98s, hoping to retain some of that playfulness, but they do not hold up well at all as a daily resort ski especially since I ski much faster and more aggressive when in bounds.

If you are a strong skier you might like the 184. If you prefer skis that feel more nimble and often get into tight trees or spaces, maybe you will like the 178 better. Some of this will depend on where you ski and what you have for skis now. Feel free to email support@theskimonster.com for a more detailed response.

    Hi
Do you think it's a good idea to use the Justis as a quiver both for days in the resort and for days of ski mountaineering?
or is the atris better since it is lighter?
(I ski the Italian and Swiss Alps so not a lot of snow usually)

What kind of binding and boot combo are you likely to use for this setup? When you say ski mountaineering, will it be resort side country off a lift? Or will you be touring into your objectives before putting the skis on your pack? What do you think might be the average distance and vertical gain when you are out there?

As a boot I would use a Scarpa Maestrale (which I already own) and as a mountain binding I would use an ATK evo 13 or 15.
Mainly I talk about ski mountaineering as routes that have nothing to do with resorts.
As a vertical climb I think the average is 1000m or 1200m and the distance is always greater than 7-10km
