Ski Comparison: Nordica Santa Ana 93 vs. Atomic Maven 93C
I'm living in Tokyo And just took my skis and child's skis to Fischer Base Tune. I had some prior knowledge of stone grind, but it seems they only had belt grinders and this place probably has the best equipment. I'm hoping the bases are flat. Surprisingly, Japan, given it's High reputation for skiing doesn't seem to have the equipment shown in your video.
I'm sorry, I think I recall seeing some robots at shops when I was in Niseko last January.
How much more playful is enforcer compared to mantra m5
Difference is significant, especially if comparing 2025 Enforcer to M5
@@TheSkiMonster thanks. I appreciate it My legs are jello after 3 hours on the mantra's. Will go for a 24 enforcer 100 (Colorado, Utah, Mammoth skiing). Hopefully I have a better (less painful)time in the mountain on the enforcers.
Hi.. concise ane helpful video. I am mostly a front side (advanced intermediate) skier and enjoy skiing my Mantra M5s, but only first 3 hours of my 4 day ski trip. My legs are fried thereafter. Would Nordica 100s be a suitable replacement?
Yes, but it's worth looking at it's replacement the Nordica Enforcer 99 it's big improvement and will be more up your alley. theskimonster.com/products/nordica-enforcer-99/
BOA's ruling it!
The audio was a little rough. Marcus's connection was not great. And your volume was a little low. I like the show. Keep it going. Just giving you a little insight. Good audio makes all the difference in this format. Normally you guys have really good audio quality when you're in your Studio
Agreed, the remote episodes are difficult with added variables.
How does the 108 compare to last year's 106 Black Edition?
108 is going to feel more playful, easier to pivot. Typically that would make it so there would be more tip deflection but the construction updates improve that over previous 106
@@TheSkiMonster sounds like I need to demo! I’m 6’2” 200 lbs and the regular 106 felt noodle-y to me. 106 Black 188 is my good day/powder ski here in Washington.
I hope they do one of these for Wingman!!!
One possible oversight that I noticed is that George mentioned that some extra room, or not the most perfect fit of the boot, can cause softer feel of the boot... Maybe a possible solution is to get a smaller sized and/or going from higher volume to lower volume (ex HV to MV) type boots instead of just looking at flex rating.
We try on the same boot, we're the same size length and width. But my foot is lower volume than yours. That same boot will feel softer to me than you.
Experienced skier, but haven’t kept up with alol trends. This answered every one of my Q’s. This guy should do videos on … best headphones…. What family car to buy.
Buy a Chevy Suburban, less stiff feeling when you get to the hill, ample room for gear inside and no limitations on Thule box size. With captains chairs the rest of crew will also feel more comfortable. Heated steering wheel is helpful after taking off all your kids gear bare handed on a brutal January day and will result in less irritation when it's time to leave the mountain.
So I ski this binding mainly with my touring boot. However occasionally on an inbound day I’d like to use my resort boot with them. I have a head wc race boot. I have to adjust the afd pad nearly all the way up which pitches the boot into a toe high position. This makes for terrible performance. Am I doing something wrong or is the type of boot sole not compatible?
1. is the sole for your resort boot worn down too much, there is a tool we have here to check, but visibly does it look worn? Shift is compatible with DIN 5355
@@TheSkiMonster it is pretty worn but I don’t see it making that much of a major difference. Maybe though. Thank you
which would you recommend for moguls? surprised to see that the M7 is actually a bit lighter than the 88's.
Mantra 88 will get rebuilt for 25/26 and get the M7 tech. I'd go Mantra 88 for bumps!
I’m torn between these two boards man… I’m an intermediate rider who’s looking into getting a nicer board and upping my skill overall. I don’t ride in any particular style, being relatively new I don’t go switch much but I’m capable in riding switch if I have too. I love both boards and both designs and can’t decide which one is the better option for me. I’m 5’9 160lbs with a size 9.5 boot. What would be the best size for me? Also which board would you recommend for me to just get better at everything overall? Won’t be trying any rails or anything like that but looking to improve on pops, Ollie’s, fast turns, and carving overall. Any tips help man thanks!
The Lib Tech T. Rice Pro will be easier to control and get comfortable on. Because the Burton is a little stiffer, it will take a touch more effort to pivot. Otherwise they are very similar, the T. Rice Pro sounds to be more in line with your ability as well as your priorities on the hill.
for park progression and serious progression in general which board would be better, been looking at the huck knife for some time now but the sleepwalker seems nice as well.
Huck Knife for sure. It is perfectly suited for all kinds of park riding and is overall more capable for progression elsewhere than the Sleepwalker.
Enjoy the video. I did not expect the CTI to be in the same category as the enforcer. I always assumed the enforcer was a heavier more Burly ski. I wanted to rent the cti, but I don't think I'm interested anymore. I'm not usually into something that directional and heavy when in softer snow
Rippin'😮
she shreds.
how about crud and cut up snow? not sure why reviewers fail to make mention of this but nice comparison otherwise. thx
Kendo will do better in the chop.
Is the mounting point the same?
There’s a Mantra 108 now so it’s a full blown family
Skis are always evolving however when you do find that “right” ski, there is no need to switch up, really. I’m on the lemon yellow 115 FR with the carbon tip. What an amazing charging ski for all conditions. You just need to know how to ski well to enjoy this beautiful ski ⛷️!
Well said!
Hello ,I have a question: What is equivalent of QST 106 in Fisher ranger series 108 or 102? Thank you!
You guys could have kept the Bonafide, Cochise for those really loving those ski s! Then just add the new guys. You may have lost some avid Blizzard skiers on this😢.
The problem with those skis is the units got really small, the market changed. And in order to get more skiers into blizzard or to stay with blizzard they needed models that would help them do so. You would be shocked at how few of those sold worldwide the last few years.
@@TheSkiMonster makes sense. Look forward to trying out the new offerings this winter. Blizzard rocks!
Thank you, Devon. This was really helpful. Which ski do you think performs better in the moguls. I'm a solid intermediate on the groomers and relatively new to moguls. I absolutely love the moguls, so I want to ski that will work well for me there. Thanks!
@@susanleslie11 you’re welcome! Santa Ana 87
I love the review but what do you think is best for me im s pretty light guy 15 years old an i like to try butters and just jump around and rail in the park but same time just send straight lineing jumps and just sendit.
Was size playmakers should I get at 5’8 145?
I ordered the Marker Griffons yesterday,I was aware they were intended for heavier skiers but I figured they’d be good since I’m trying to bulk.My goal is 145-150(currently 132lb).Anything wrong with this?
No, just be sure to have a certified technician setup your bindings.
How would the resort twin spring break compare to these?
@@profit7970 All are very similar - the Resort Twin will be grippier on hardpark, while the advantage of the two in the video is a bit more pop when in the park.
0:35: your boots are too upright. Get another boots and start pushing forward.
Nice review.
Nice review and explanation 😊.
Intermediate skier, need ankle support. Mach 1MV 110 ok?
@@roberthausmann7065 mach1 110 MV is a stiffer 110, but flex doesn’t have to do with ability. It more caps you at that ability if you will, you don’t need to be an expert to buy the 130, you’ll be a more confident skier in the stiffer boot. Confidence is good.
@@TheSkiMonster Thanks so much for your helpful advice!
1 mm makes no difference!
How would the sleep walker compare to the salomon craft 2025 for jib and small to medium jump?
The Sleepwalker will be a more consistent medium flex board giving it a but more pop of jumps, while still being plenty flexible for jibs and rails. The Craft is more of an entry level, soft flexing all mountain board that is still capable in the park due to its soft flex.
Is 158w sleepwalker big enough if I’m 6’2” 195 pounds with size 11 feet? Mainly riding park, jibbing and side hits.
@@triggeredraptorsfan2881 The 158W will be perfect! At your height and weight you could ride a slightly bigger board, but if park, jobs, and sidehits are the priority the 158W is right on the money!
How does the nitro t1 compares to these two boards?
The biggest difference will be that the Nitro T1 is slightly stiffer making it a bit more powerful feeling. Otherwise the shape and camber profiles are very similar.
So glad you said it! Flex is not standard between boots and depends more on the fit than the material. Great job!
I'm curious how these skis (or their newer updated versions) compair to the Armada Reliance 92ti? Thanks!
going from DOA to huck knife pro this season
i weigh 87kg (192lb approx) and a high level / aggressive skier. What bindings would you recommend? Thanks, great video!
Any of them will be great, we'd go Griffon or Strive.
Bonafide is irreplaceable….
We love the Bonafide too! The Anomaly is worth a try though
Declivity 92ti deserves to be in here too....
@@scollyutube there will be more comparison vids
What length does Andrew ski these in relation to his height/ weight?
@@uncledabob 6’2 200, 186cm
Thanks!
thoughts on where the Atomic Mavrick 95 would slot into this list? Between the Enforcer and the Elan?
Interesting to include Anomaly and not Rustler 9. Where would you slot the Rustler 9 in this lineup?
Guys you could include info (in a written form on screen) about available lengths and other measurements to make video more informative. Also - show rocker shape, don't be lazy. Now it seem that you are selling ski topshits.
Binding on Nordica mounted way more forward compared to Elan and Anomaly.
Yes, all different size skis, different factory recommended mount points and also demo bindings so toes/heels move independently to fit multiple boot sizes.
Very stoked for this season, great pod!
Head started the 88s with the monster.
Exactly the review I needed!
Just my opinion but an hour of this unorganized gab doesn’t work well for a ski review.
Appreciate the feedback. It's why we called it a Preview instead of a Review because it was meant to be more of a discussion.
Which is more versatile and better for progressing?
@@AugustBMW Both are plenty capable of riding in a variety of terrain. The Process being softer flexing will be helpful for a progressing rider who wants to be able to control and maneuver the board easier. If you’re a comfortable rider and want something that will work well anywhere you take it, and for a long time if your riding style becomes more aggressive, the Custom is a great option.
@@TheSkiMonster thanks for replying, Can you suggest right size of Burton Custom Camber snowboard? my height is 5'9, weight is 170, boot size 10.5 US, bindings size L (Union force) Also Do I need Wide size or regular?
