Space Station 13 is a game that you're not going to understand unless you play. It's not a game you can learn by watching or reading, and it is a game you certainly won't master in your first day, week or month. Space station 13 is one of the most insane experiences of my life, a game that has occupied my time for over a decade now. Space station 13 is the roguelike of roguelikes for me, the most wonderful piece of human created madness, and certainly on equal footing with dwarf fortress in terms of sheer complexity.
However, byond is old as an engine, is limited in its own ways, and largely prevented a number of people from joining in. And thus, there was Space Station 14 - which is free and on steam! This open source monster replicates the madness and is the early version of what promises to be many decades of stupid just like its sire.

If airlines are going to charge us for gas station food then they should at least offer us actual gas station food, like hot chips, sausage rolls and meat pies, all food that are orders of magnitude better than the shite they currently serve.

The head gasket in my truck blew last night and I'm eating breakfast before walking to work. Thanks to the stalwart crew of SS13 for showing me that my day could always be worse.
Botany is weird. When I started playing I chose to learn there. It's all space weed, killer tomatoes and an angry chef constantly asking for produce. And drinking green stuff.
It's not all space weed and killer tomatoes, don't forget the drug kingpins, gun runners, and the actual damn treehuggas.
When you do botany you make the hydroponics lab do what you want, but please do at least grow some stuff for the chef they like to have fun too, instead of becoming a maints meat mugger.

Sseth's video introduced me to ss13, but your many, many cargo shifts made me love it and give it an actual try, and a couple days ago downloaded ss14 and, even tho it lacks some of the content (genetics 😔), i'm falling in love again with the qol features and pixel movement. So thank you :)

Ive been a BPL lurker for long time and just joined the aux. Paying extra attention to these and learning "how to" as it seems SS14 is a very common group event.
It's truly impressive that you've managed to play a game for over a decade, became the most famous player of that game, while avoiding getting better at it in any way. Remarkable.

First time poster, long time watcher. Been listening to the podcast on my walks to work and got to the interview with mr. welch and the whole mystara 5e thing. I have to thank you for having him on, as I wouldn't have known a 5e adaptation of the setting existed in the first place if not for the BPL podcast. Can finally have an easy to use and adapted to the 5e rules setting that isn't "the overremembered realms" or Eberron to use with the people who are not turbonerds within my social group. Thank you for your work, I appreciate it greatly.
The Outland shotgun duels were great. Half tempted to burn money making a replica of one of the scoped ones one day.

Like you can just tow it back to station, some servers put the ats in ftl space to at least make you travel there.
The more I look at this, the more I realise how much of either a powergamer, or a speed freak I am.

Every time i roll qm, i get no cargo tech to work with and all of my miners don't do shit except searching for lethal weapons on expeditions and threatening security with it, getting arrested in the process. Spend 2 shifts carrying all of the fucking cargo while doing paperwork, and i'm done with that shit
