My plan was to follow you guys! I watched a bunch of your videos last fall when we got our Aussie puppy. Well in proud to say that today when I was walking him off leash in the bush he took off cause of people near the road, but he came back when I called him!!!
Great training tips. The face focus is something we need to work on. Eps has become a bit too hand focused waiting for treats and saying yes then hand to face before food reward is useful. We also find times when house line needs to go back on for a while if Eps starts the you can chase me game. We have specific go zoom run cue for playtime. Tenterfield Terriers have a huge prey drive and Eps loves having jumping, crouching, swiftly changing direction and having a zoom as a relief after having so many firm boundaries when working. She has her favourite tug toys too but seems to love her free fast run arounds the most, when she is in the mood. Thanks again for the useful training cue tips. We appreciate them. 🐾😎
Question on houseline: when pup chews it in half what do you do? I'm watching all these pups drag a line but mine immediately chews it. And she's a very spirited and skillful biter (thus the lead line chewing)
Greetings from Brooklyn, NY. I just recently started watching your videos. Your training tips are fantastic. My daughters purchased their first dog (Cava-Tzu) named Bruno several months ago. He’s currently 8 months. He has definitely been a handful. Super energetic and loving. The house line tip is something I didn’t know about. I will try this method. He is home a lot due to our work and school schedule. He has a playpen. I try my best to give him attention before leaving for work. My wife and daughters have an AM schedule compared to my PM schedule. I worry about him all day. My daughter setup a PetCube cam to look in on him. I just worry about his development during these crucial puppy months. I try to teach him commands that for the most part work. He is still a bit skittish when we go for walks or to the dog park. I appreciate your feedback.
This is fantastic advice. I've started doing this with my husky 5 months old. It's helped alot with playings toys the right way and also patting as a reward. It makes me higher value I don't like to rely on feeding him his kibble as a reward alone for bonding & respect. I think that's so important. Great tip I took from this too is the placement of food because I have found he was so focused on my hands for the delivery of kibble/treats and I want him to look up at my face more to connect with me! I am wondering if you have any tips as my dog now listens to me but not my wife and when im home his so well behaved but when i leave and his left with her his loco pants 😂 cheers from Australia
My dog had a treat drawer, once she was older. Every time she did a new good behaviour, og did a job i wanted her to, i would say yes! Good Girl! And Then, she would run to the drawer, knowing she would get a treat🤣 it was soo cute. But it was Way later, when she knew the Yes! Word😊
My plan is working day seven, pup is in the cage, quiet, fed watered. House line on. Handled and trained to sit come and. Female border collie. I did umber first brush this afternoon and I got it done but she went for me several times and really but me, not a nip, I have just bought a different brush that won’t be as pointy:
My puppy just wants to chew on the house line what do I do? I get a little frustrated with training videos that use well trained dogs because it’s not accurately representing what it’s like doing the training on a puppy or untrained dog.
Should I be allowing my dog to chew the house line? Mine will chew it non-stop and can’t even be redirected from chewing it. I then ending up fighting to take it out his mouth which he thinks is a game.
My puppy won’t stop barking when he goes in the crate. Should be just ignore it or what should we do. Also he takes of his collar so we can’t add his house line please help 🙏
I got a new 3 month old Australian Cattle Dog , Terrier mix . Well i was wondering is he a good dog as a service or therapy dog? i have to go on dialysis and diabetic.
What I would like for my younger. Doing is peeing in pooing in my house even though I’ll take her out for 15 minutes or more. She also have a problem she panics and she do not want to go outside and when she’s outside with me she turns around and she scratched up the door. let me in, let me in I know she was abused my dog been here since February 2023 I have a bad report inside the hospital, but I am trying to get her to stop doing what she’s doing plus barking. I basically got all her shots is hard she’s my second dog I have my first dog acting a certain type of way like he’s being neglected and I’m a good mama.
how can i stop my pup from chewing on the lead. even after a week of having a house line on, he was CONSTANTLY chewing at it. it got to the point where i had to just take it off because I was getting SOOO angry about it and it was putting a huge strain on our relationship building. I WANT to have a line on . my pup definitely needs it. however I cant spend all day everyday losing my mind out of frustration.
@@misbegotten6964 Alright dear, have you started teaching him obedience command? And just like babies, their gum gets itchy sometimes because they go through teething. Are you on telegram?
I never use Treats for basic or obedience commands.. Treats are for tricks, love and praise for daily behavior. I see so many clients dogs with treat dependency.

Are there any toys that are ok to let my puppy have on their own when in their pen or crate?

I’ve been trying to incorporate use of a house like but my puppy just pulls & chews on it, it seems like more of a distraction

Kinda makes no sense, you can also just step on a regular leash to stop your dog. Those "house lines" are just a money grav from your end.
It is a regular leash without the ⭕ at the end so that the puppy can't get stuck.
