    *Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For RV where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*

    I cover the roof with HF moving quilts and then put pieces of plywood on top of them, eliminates damage to roof membrane and eliminates stress points from your knees or the heel of your hand. This is a good video, you can actually see what is going on. I have a Penguin (Plastic air boxes) and it actually proved to be a lot of work. My is a 2008 model and the foam seal is rotten and falling apart so I have to replace that. You cannot run a Penguin very long with the cover off as the cover is necessary for directing the air thru the condenser and fan. I did not even see the 3M tape until I was done mounting the box with screws and self locking nuts (I am a retired airline mechanic and the OCD for a"proper" installation kicked in.). The Micro Air videos are excruciating to watch, but yours is well done.

    I bought ours at least a year ago, but finally got around to installing it this week. We suffered a hot music festival without AC last month, so that was motivation. We bought ours direct from Micro-Air on sale, so it did not come with all the nice things you include. Dang, wish I had known, but I sourced all but the drilled hole flange. I printed off the large MA instructions; they're intimidating! I found this video, watched it 2-3 times, and made my own abbreviated notes. Install was a breeze! It works GREAT!
    Thank you so much!

    I bought the Easy Start last year and just got around to installing it. This video made all the difference in my confidence to do it. Between getting up and down the ladder, finding the right tools and getting them on the roof of the RV, placing boards to kneel on (with knee pads for my 74 yr old knees) it took about 2.5 hrs to do this. Each start worked - but the first one took sooo long I thought I'd screwed up. I'll be ordering the propane conversion kit next. Thank you.

    Wow! I did it and it works!! Thank you! You are an amazing teacher!! I wish I could include a picture here. There was another device on the post with the one red wire where I connected my orange wire. I removed it. It had a black wire and another black wire going to the busy post with all the white wires. I'm hoping it's ok I took that off. It's a smallish round cylinder type mechanism, all enclosed but two black wires exiting. Seems that maybe the "hard start you were speaking of"

    Thanks for video, thus was only one I found with my style of Dometic AC. I have a Polar branded soft start but it requires same connections. I would prefer 2 screws for secure mounting but your location looks better than anything I could find . Thanks again ! Update - used one screw in bottom left hole same as video, then added some aluminum angle metal across top 2 screw locations & also fastened the angle metal to top of box cover, so soft start is fastened with 3 screws.. happy camper

    Amazing. You did a great job of explaining it and even when things weren't as described, you didn't let us panic, you provided the information needed to get the j0b done, with confidence. I absolutely love this video. I am taking Marine Maintenance Tech course in college and you used at least 3 processes, components, described in our course of instruction This is a great video for my class. PS: I own an Airstream and I am installing the soft-start on it. My instructor said to wait until Electrical II and bring my Airstream into class and have the class install it. Great video

    A very nice video. My issues are two of them: first one, how much does it save you in electricity; the second is one how many years does it add to your compressor? Right now you can only buy the comercial version ($376) pricing themselves out of the market. At this price it would take three to four years to pay for itself. Not much room to get ahead since we don’t know how long they last.

    Just received my Easystarts (2 each) Bluetooth from Hutch mountain. before climbing on the roof I needed to find a clear video to explain what and how to do during the install. this gives me a better picture of what tools I will need to bring with me to the roof. very clear and to the point video, loved it. just one question, you mentioned that it is specific to the compressor. If your air conditioner dies and you replace it with an identical model, can you take the easy start off the old A/C and put it on the new A/C and simply reprogram it with the 5 start-ups? Thanks almost forgot, do you mind if I share the link to this video when I publish my own video?

    Nicely done. Question though - have you installed one of these on a Furrion A/C unit? That capacitor has four contacts not just the usual three. Just curious.

  • @EricHenleyColorado
    @EricHenleyColorado 13 днів тому

    So I just install the soft starter and it is wonderful. Everything went well following your video it was up and running in less than an hour. The one glitch I had was putting the capacitor back and closing the panel. Because of the length of the wires and the space I had to install the capacitor up-side-down. Is that ok? Or will the capacitor fail sooner operating in an inverted position? Should I extend the wires with butt connectors and put it in right-side-up?
    Follow-up: The unit failed after only 2 months. The run wire from the unit fried for a distance of 6 inches. Had to call an AC repair tech. Contacted the company and just thought they would stand by their unit. NOPE - they said splice the wire and hope. The failure was caused by heat. It is Florida in the summer, Duh! The original wires were good in the heat, cycling the AC for 9 years, but their unit failed in 2 months. Anyway, don't trust this company or this unit. They will not support you or their product! BUYER BEWARE!!

      Its generic/smart at the same time. It’s part of the ‘learning’ process involved in running it 5 times. The processor ‘learns’ how your specific compressor starts/runs, and automatically adjusts its function to your compressor.

    Buyer be aware....With the EasyStart you need to start your air conditioner 5 different times, while giving 3 minutes in between restarts for the compressor to equalize. With the regular "SoftStartRv" model u don't have to worry on this. Its a big deal I think...

      The knockout those wires are running through, has a rolled/stamped/smooth edge. No way for the wires to get cut.
