The choice to have Devon develop Tinnitus is an inspired one. He doesn't suddenly become a lovable character but having spent all this time really disliking him, you do feel for the guy.
Admittedly, this wasn't what I was expecting with this game. I thought that when Mayer was brought up in F2 and Aiden Jackson was considering jumping ship, I was half-hoping that Aiden would have ended up as a "Big-Three" Driver with Callie Mayer joining the team and the two of them working together to take Aiden down a peg in a redemption arc for Butler.
What a story. As much as we all disliked Devon it's heartbreaking seeing him finally realise he can't hide his Tinnitus anymore and trash his room knowing his F1 career is over. And then he comes back and, in his own special way, inspires the drivers to knuckle down and squash their issues.
Ending was very wholesome ngl, after everything they went through and even with their differences, they finally all gathered and cheered together, kinda warms my heart
I love how they make Devon likable when for most of breaking point 1 and 2 I hated him and hated hearing him talk. Now I feel sympathy for him. But I have to say, my only issue comes with Callie and Aiden’s relationship. It feels like Callie comes in and starts trying to be the #1 driver of the team and disregarding Aiden. Then it’s weird they frame aiden for being wrong when in reality I feel he had done nothing wrong. Like, the Baku bit goes both ways but Callie holding that and other things against him is unreasonable as, if roles were reversed, she’d probably have done the same thing.
Can someone take a clip from the first Braking Point where Butler is trying to antagonise Akkerman before the US race? Where he says "it takes a brave man to admit when he can't compete anymore". Then immediately follow it up with Butler telling Akkerman he's done? That's full circle stuff right there. (have the clip from F1 2021 preferably with Jackson and Akkerman at Alfa Romeo with Butler at AlphaTauri since that's considered canon)
I was pretty surprised that Devon Butler wasn't so arrogant in the later chapters and Aiden was the one being arrogant. It was also great to see Casper Akkerman come back as Konnersport's Principal
When you thought Devon was a-hole the first time he's Introduced. But, his Tinnitus proved to be more to him than meets the eye. And when he returned, he's basically reminding Aiden "don't do anything I wouldn't do".
Long comment here, so sorry for the long read I’m gonna make this clear, I was very excited to see a continuation for Braking Point from 2021. However after finishing it, (Bought the Champions Edition for early access) I enjoyed a lot of it but also was very disappointed. First I want to start on the good, obviously the characters except one were great, it was good to see Aiden Jackson, Casper Akkerman return, along with the man fans love to hate Devon Butler. Also new characters Andero Konner, and Devon’s father Davidoff were great, the actors all did great work in portraying the characters and I did enjoy the character development for Aiden and Devon. It was an interesting story about a new team joining the F1 Grid, considering in real life how difficult and expensive it really is. Also I was incredibly shocked that Devon was suffering from Tinnitus and left the grid in 2023, the first time I actually felt sympathy for Devon. Also Devon actually has one great scene when he talks to Aiden, about how Aiden has this delusional belief about he deserves being signed at Mercedes, Red Bull or Ferrari, yes he was on their radar in 2021 but their talks never came to an agreement. But now the bad and the controversial opinion, the female protagonist, Callie Mayer who is Devon’s sister, is by far the worst character. Her entire personality is “I don’t like my dad cause he only focused on Devon’s career” got really old fast. Also when in the story, Davidoff was gonna pull his funding to the team if they didn’t finish 5th in the Constructors Championship, she always acted it was because of her, but it was clear that the contract about the funding was in place before she joined. Even when Aiden and Callie were told about it, there was no attempt for either of them to bury the hatchet and work together. Aiden is the only one I can understand not wanting to try as he wasn’t happy at team way before Callie joined. But Callie was kept acting like a spoiled child and acted incredibly rude in interviews and I’m not talking about the ones the player chooses the character’s responses. Also she goes on about that Aiden was the immature one and he has an attitude problem but she never showed any maturity herself and hardly had a good attitude at all. Also the fact that Davidoff only focused on financing Devon’s career, she tells Devon that he “left her behind” and should’ve fought for her, but here’s a newsflash; GETTING INTO MOTORSPORT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!!! ESPECIALLY FOR A CAREER!!! On paper Davidoff could fund both of them, but for a businessman to which Davidoff is, he had to think practically, yes he was pretty ignorant about it, especially wanting a legacy from Devon. Also let’s be real, if the roles were reversed, Callie would definitely do the same to Devon, so don’t act like you would be different in the same circumstances. And near the end, Aiden does apologise to Callie, but she never apologises to Aiden she just acts smug like Devon and comes off just a smug unlikable brat. What annoyed me more was that Jamie Chadwick 3 time W Series Champion had a hand in bringing her story to life, which the Braking Point video mentioned and showed her, I have to ask what the hell was she telling the writers at Codemasters? Now I’m gonna make this clear, I do not have anything against female characters in F1 or racing games in general, but how they handled Callie in the game was rubbish, her story could’ve been so much better, but the decisions they went for it were so poorly handled. But in the end, I still enjoyed Braking Point 2, I always loved stories in Racing Games and I’m hopeful that we get another in 2025 as the storyline needs two seasons. I’m gonna give the Braking Point 2 a solid 7/10, it’s a good story but with one annoying character bringing it down. Is it better than Braking Point 1? In some areas yes but also not so good in others. I also hope this isn’t the last game to have Devon Butler in the games, cause I think he’s the character players want to see and also beat on the track.
I did have a couple of ideas for Braking Point 3 Okay, so after Casper tells Davidoff to leave, the consequences are he loses his job to Devon. Aidan gets his top three team seat and his seat goes to Lukas Weber. Callie and Lukas actually do get on, while Aidan now gets even more insufferable. The main story of the season is getting Lukas to win the WC. However there is a bombshell in the background. Davidoff added a performance clause that Lukas has to score a certain number of points or he loses his drive. However the bombshell is Lukas has to essentially win the WDC to fulfil his contract. The player would get two or three endings; 1) Lukas wins the title and keeps his seat, 2) Lukas wins the title but loses his seat or 3) He loses both the title and his seat There would be possibilities to flash back to the 2019 story mode and the first two Braking Points to emphasise story beats. Suitable challenges for the player would be trying to win Monaco with a slow puncture, finish on the podium in Japan Along the way Devon realises that being the team principal isn't as easy as he thought, gains a new respect for Lukas and his relationship with his father suffers when he finds out about Lukas's performance clause
(A man calls Casper to see what is happening in the restrooms. Then, Casper heads to the restrooms, but he has to back off the people to see what's happening. Back in the building, Devon goes into his restroom, slams his door, throws his helmet and starts making mess in his restroom. Casper heard everything. He opens the door and sees Devon who's breathing loudly, but desperate.) Devon: I'm done, Casper. (still breathing loudly. Casper closes the door) I'm done. Casper: (comforts him as he pats him) It's okay. It's okay.
let's talk about Aiden's horrendous wheel to wheel, i mean look at that, in Canada, he could have let off and repassed Devon later, the collision was his fault, and at Baku, why was he gonna swap with Callie at the corner exit? that's unorthodox as shit, if you're gonna swap, you take the inside on entry and brake early, and the crash with Casper in the previous game at Mexico, he gets told to back off and keeps going, he's horrendous
Yeah, agreed. That might've been intentional, as an early hint for viewers to shift their support from Aiden to Devon, but I also had the impression he was more at fault than Devon was.
Family issues, how exciting it that!! They made callie super unlikeable, because she always expected number one treatment. However Devon is actually sort of LIKEABLE for once. Aiden... he's a decent person, but when things don't go his way he can be a really difficult guy. The rest are decent people... except Davidoff of course.
I enjoyed that, but I really hope that if we get a Braking Point 3 they finally deviate from the "Teammate A won't let Teammate B pass despite the comms and they have a wheel-to-wheel at the expense of the team," we've had that play out with Aiden and three different teammates now lol.
Sorry but am I the only one who finds this year's Braking Point lacking? Like don't get me wrong, the tinnitus from Devon and Cassie being involved from F2 to F1 is great but Aiden isn't consistant and it's basically the opposite of 2021. Personally would've liked it more if they included scenes where Aiden talks to different teams, where we see Konnersport being introduced etc. Also would've liked to see better results from Aiden, like being a real first driver. The beginning is something I don't like but I do like the ending. Would've liked to know what position they actually finished though, a podium or something would've been great..
maybe in the next story we will start to warm to callie it was the same with aiden he was not the fan fav in breaking point one the favrote was casper not aiden and now aiden is likeable maybe callie will become likeable in breaking point 3
@VexitheGamer same here man there’s actual character development in this one makes it all the more cool. I do believe this is one of the best racing stories we’ve had since driver San Francisco
I didn't know they make a story mode... I haven't played F1 2021, before EA bought Codemaster... The only Codemaster racing game with story mode is Grid Legends...
Why does this Story mode Remind me of my life Devon making a mistake Takes it out on himself done that. I also don’t wanta reveal my personal problems then I have to come clean if I don’t do well with my Job. Siblings one Favorite child over the other yet The favorite being the dumber one yet stills want to look out for the younger one not believing a word they say. Adien’s side of the story leads to a part thinking I’m worthless yet I put my Heart and Soul into it. The Funding part of the story between the Siblings is the only thing that didn’t happen both different paths in sports both supported equally. I might take over my dad’s thing when he’s gone yet I’m not going down the same Carrer path as he is so I might change the business. Your always going to be the Number 2 to your Dad unless if you achieve something greater than him you might have a plan to get there but achieving that would be a different story.

Unpopular take, story kinda just shits on Aiden and Callie, treating them as stupid and easy to manipulate. At the end all we get to see is that everything runs because of Devon and Davidoff, less so the latter.
F1 Braking Point 2 had sorta copied FIFA The Journey: Hunter Returns since the game added a female character that turns out to be the protagonists sister.
the story was good and all but they should have focused on Aiden, he was supposedly the main guy of the last one but we got to focus more on Casper which is ok and in this one also we were told he was gonna be the main guy but was shafted aside to focus on Callie like i get that they wanted to show diversity but there could have been a much better way, they could have made this Aiden's journey to the top and have Callie like here and there for moments and set her up for 2025 but they chose this....lets see what they do next time
I didn't understand what was this all for in 2021 already, but yeah: They did it specially that Callie wins at the end because she is a woman? Am I right or?
Of course. It's the new woke trend. Even Ubi made the same with Kassandra, female Eivor, female protagonist in AC Red, Danny in FC6, Star Wars - Outlaws and so on. AC Mirage is the only exception from the list. Welcome to the new world ... 🙄
@@QF_Dan72 I think the Aiden thing was designed to be that way, Callie was just terribly written. Writers think this bitchy "strong woman" behaviour makes you like her. They failed badly.

Also maybe have more races in F2, so we can see how she became the hot name in F2.
Lmao they referenced brad pitt's f1 movie
Unpopular take, story kinda just shits on Aiden and Callie, treating them as stupid and easy to manipulate. At the end all we get to see is that everything runs because of Devon and Davidoff, less so the latter.
Do you get a trophy for completing breaking point like last time
You get two. One for getting Callie to win the F2 Championship and one for finishing the rest story.
Isn't there multiple endings to this story
SOO... THIS STORY IS BASICALLY FERRARI'S 2022 SEASON
McLaren, not Ferrari (driver conflicts and aiming for 5th place)
The movie from brad pitt and lewis will be the same;)
Maybe. I am waiting for Brad Pitt F1 racing movie rumoured title APEX.
2:07 it’s kinda funny how Lewis and max are looking at them like😐
Is this like drive ti survive
Braking Point 3 coming??
27:12 nice low res texture
01:02:17 Aw,😟🙁i actually totally feel bad for Callie.😟🙁
Max: it wasn't my fault!
Ruby: Well Who's fault was there?
8:01 Max-Sao Paulo GP be like
F1 Braking Point 2 had sorta copied FIFA The Journey: Hunter Returns since the game added a female character that turns out to be the protagonists sister.
EA just writing the story but replacing football with F1.
F1 24 or F1 26 will have Volta racing
@@joshgeorge728 So Callie Mayer is the Cruz Ramirez of EA.
Ok Robin Chuck will let you pass on the next course Louise.
Well I'm here because my save got corrupted and I didn't feel like doing it all over again. Looks like I was about 75% of the way done.
Ruby: GRRR! UGH!!!! UGH!!!! UGH!!!!!!
Ruby: l'm done My_Melody... l'm done...
the story was good and all but they should have focused on Aiden, he was supposedly the main guy of the last one but we got to focus more on Casper which is ok and in this one also we were told he was gonna be the main guy but was shafted aside to focus on Callie like i get that they wanted to show diversity but there could have been a much better way, they could have made this Aiden's journey to the top and have Callie like here and there for moments and set her up for 2025 but they chose this....lets see what they do next time
Is it me or did they spend a lot kf time trying to balme adian?
32:50
it's just me or devon look like peter parker?
32:49 32:50
Stella: Robin.
Robin: Stella?
Bobin: What!! Why?!
46:10
I feel like EA made this Story Mode for nothing.
OH, OH MY!
No way all of this is in the game...
@@Astristul Ffs, man! F1 means a RACING GAME, NOT A FILM WHERE THE WOMAN IS FAR BETTER THAN ANY MAN AND IS ALWAYS RIGHT (Not a sexist)
Max: l'm losing power. Why am l losing power?
Copy that. We see it. We're looking into in.
OK. l'm afraid you're gonna have retire the car please. Max Retire the car.
Max: Oh, you're joking.
l'm sorry Max, put over now please, Put over now,
Max: this is getting ridiculous!
Is Formula 1 a motorsport or a nepotism?😅
Anyone else strongly dislike Aiden now?
Both Callie and Aiden are just very unlikeable in this story, they both just constantly looking for things to get pissed off of.
Both Callie and Aiden, they wrote them into despicable
@@QF_Dan72 I think the Aiden thing was designed to be that way, Callie was just terribly written. Writers think this bitchy "strong woman" behaviour makes you like her. They failed badly.
These bot comments are funny af
Woman in F1 😂
😂😂😂 stupid story
Honestly why put in all the family drama? So much wasted potential all because of inclusion bs.
I kind of agree, but at least make her likable. This way it was even worse.
Can you change teams on breaking point 2?
