Great video very informative. I am almost over 6 weeks post op ACLR with hamstring graft and meniscus repair. My Rom of motion is 90 -100 degree in prone position and around 110-120 when on my back and even more in the swinging over the edge flexion. Is this good progress because I feel concerned about my ROM also I have recently started to work on my extension and before it was 10-12 degree and now it is only 5-2 degree. Please let me know what you think. Also I am a semi-pro soccer Athelete.
Sounds like you are continually progressing. Just keep an eye out for slowing progress, which may indicate the need to modify your program. Keep it up!
Great video. I had acl reconstruction 7 months ago I’m 17 and very active. Why does my quad on my surgical knee feel numb only my left quad seems to get tired or being used during exercises
Hello JacksWrld, This is likely a sign that it likely requires further conditioning. It can take up to a year + for the surgical leg to have similar strength to the other knee. Good luck and keep up with the strength training!
Hey there!
I had a High grade partial tear of my ACL on Dec, 2022. As I had no imbalance issues doctor suggested I go for an non-operative way of healing. By this time (April 2023) my strength in terms of extension and curling and squatting is almost back to normal and now doc has even suggested me to start jogging and doing some other drills including hopping and cross-movements. However, inspite of all these, I still find that some sort of insecurity still prevails with me as at times while landing instaneouly on my injured leg or using it to rise up from a sitted position without using hands or like any movement which involve moving knee forward while remianing at squat position on toes still pains a lot.
Any suggestions on what should be my way of going about in the upcoming days..!?
Waiting for your kind response!
Hey! I have 4 motnhs after surgery acl from a cadaver , it s totally normal to have pain some days? I work in construction i do floor and at my job i need to sit most of the time in my knees. Couples days ago i feel my knee he try ro fall after i slipped at work. Give me some advice to fell better :)
Hello Vasile, pain after surgery can be common. I would suggest seeing a physical therapist who can properly assess you and provide strategies to reduce pain and enhance function. Thanks for the comment!
I didnt have full range of motion before my surgery. Three and half weeks after the tear. Can i still active full range of motion (full hyper extension, only have a little) and i’m 4 months post operation😬😭
I have a question actually I did the ACL reconstruction surgery on 10/2/23 after 7 days of injury and now my knee still swelled and extension is great but flexion is maximum 100-110 my orthopedic says it’s hematoma inside the joint, when I try to bend more it feels like it’s hard and hurts why?
Hello Hasan, a hematoma is a collection of blood that can pool in a joint due to surgery. This, along with the swelling (effusion), would take up space within the joint and can restrict movement and cause pain. I suggest discussing with your physical therapist swelling reduction strategies and exercises to address this. Good luck!
So I did my surgery on 12/19/20 I haven’t returned to soccer yet planning to do these year 3/30/23 you think I should be ready I feel ready I had my acl done I did the hamstring method
Hello Billy, readiness to return to sport depends on a number of factors including time out of surgery, strength, power, and confidence to name a few. It sounds like you have the time and confidence pieces, which is great! If you have the strength and power to back it up you should be fine. Good luck with soccer!
Hello , I had my ACL MCL repaired 3/21/23 . Do you think I can do a half marathon in October ?
