Chronic Muscle Weakness- Why You're Not Getting Stronger After Injury or Surgery
The following is one persons opinion. Having enjoyed shockwave therapy for a condition that had persisted for years, MY OPINION is that it works.
You're right, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest by Mario Volpstein, it's so much simpler and potent now!
As a physical therapist i tried all of this but only thinh that helped was shock wave therapy
That's great that you found something that helped you! How much did you have to pay and for how many treatments?
Good to know

Great video on a really common issue that affects so many. Thank you! You have the best rehab videos on UA-cam and I’ve found them very useful.

Hello, Tip 4 u With the lacrosse ball when applying pressure to the sole of the foot use 2 socks . The second sock stops the ball rolling away . Better control Cheers
Hi, I've tried physio therapy many times over the years, but it always makes it worse. Is there anything else you would recommend? Thanks
Hello Keith, we would not be able to make a good recommendation as we don't know your specific history. We also don't provide medical advice online. However, we may be able to make a video on the issue you are having. Feel free to suggest a topic!
Ive had a broken ankle that needs surgery to fix. Worst pain ever. Oxys did nothing and i couldnt even move out the bed. Got a steroid shot , im walking like normal and feel amazing.
Whole grains makes it worse. So can too many fruits.
Is this based on personal experience? We have found no literature to support that claim
I also had my lateral and medial meniscus repaired so I’m nwb for 6 weeks. What exercises would you recommend then? Thanks
This depends on the surgeons protocol. But typically, you will work on range of motion exercises within a specified range of motion to avoid over straining the repaired meniscus as well as some straight leg hip and knee motor exercises to improve muscle control. I suggest discussing specifics with your physical therapist so that they can taylor your program to your needs. Good luck! 👍
Hey i am 15 year old and i used to think the pain in the knee is due to overuse and idk if i have arorhritis or not but my inner femur is larger than usual and my knee produses more pressure than usual i think i rest for 1 month but the result is same do u think? I Have arithritis pls tell me😢
Based on your age it's unlikely it's arthritis. Because its been bugging you for a while, I suggest seeing a physical therapist so they can properly assess you. 👍
This was a great explanation. Thank you.
This moderator is quite deceiving! Not sure who he works for ! This is not worse than all the cancer treatments they have been pushing without much evidence either ! I have been taking some treatments recently and found out that this helps to eliminate some pain !
Thanks for the response. It's great to hear you are finding the tx beneficial.
Thanks 🙏
No problem 😊
Great video and incredibly useful information!

Haha, thousands of dollars ? I constructed my own device for peanuts and i am using it now on myself successfuly.
HI, thanks for the useful video. Do you know if, for foreign students (with a validated degree in physical therapy in their country), is necessary to have some additional certification? Thanks you 😊
Residencies require graduation from an accredited school in the US and a valid license in the state where they are practicing. Hope that answered your question!
Why don't you offer an alternative?
What about bursitis? Is it the same as tendon inflammation? Please help
I’ve had cortisone injection in a painful hip bursa due to a 12’ fall. Going on 2 years pain is still gone.
This is basically common sense. Nothing earth shattering here. It’s called the S.A.I.D principle. Specifics Adaptations to Induced Demands If you are a PT with half a brain you will work on explosive movements for the specific sport.
Your really smart 👏 but our audience is also for those without a PT background
My tissues are all ready damaged from these injections will I be able to get them back healthy again
Does injection help with healing at all? Talking about tendonitis. If it's just for pain relief then I might not take it.
i had my acl surgery with peronus longus autograft
This is excellent!
Thank you for the kind feedback!

Yup. Out and out scam. Did 5 sessions of this crap for plantar fasciiits and in the exact same predicament I was 7 weeks ago. I want my money back and a written apology from the doctor. I've been on the merry go round of sham "treatments" for this condition, tried over 20 modalities and nothing works even a little. Doctors don't know how to treat it, but love having you make 50+ visits while you strike out on treatment after treatment that all have an "80% success rate." Either I am a statistical anomaly or THEY'RE LYING. Disgraceful. I love how you put "stimulation" in quotes. It's an absolute joke that people are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars to "stimulate" to body's natural healing mechanism that already failed the first time. Just haphazardly injecting crap and hoping for the best in that the body "stimulates" a healing response. The answer, if conservative care and PT didn't work for 6+ months is unfortunately surgery. People will do or pay for anything when they don't want to hear that.
Is this procedure done by arthroscope or does it have to be done open?
Im 61 and a disabled nurse of 37 years. Grew up on a farm working hard very physical heavy labor work. I get injections both knees every 6 months. My knees are horrible. Im high risk for surgery due to pulmonary embolisms, resp failure and overweight. Im working on my weight but until then i feel stuck with the injections. I got them today and already feel that cortisone yucky as i call it.
You dont seem to have done your research and are just hating on a technology for no reason without any evidence, are you aware that shockwave therapy is FDA approved for blood flow and improvement of connective tissue damage ?! You think they approved a technology without evidence it works ? Please dont misguide people, it is not approved for every thing ,but it is definitely FDA approved for some Applications.
Thanks for the comment. All you need for FDA approval is to show that the potential benefits outweigh the risk. Emphasis on "potential benefits." So, in essence, if the treatment has a low risk of injuring someone, it will be approved. This by NO MEANS AT ALL demonstrates efficacy
I don’t know, but when medical research doctors with Ph.Ds start to seriously work to extend the Craniosacral Therapy application to other complex diseases, anyone with healthy skepticism and attitudes shouldn’t shoot the idea down without much deliberation. ua-cam.com/video/6kYzfVVazzA/v-deo.html
Thanks for all of the invaluable information, sir! Your videos are extremely helpful, to the point, and evidence based.
Thank you for the kind feedback!

It sounds like this guy read a propaganda piece and jumped on the bandwagon of bashing it without actually taking the time to educate himself on the anatomy and physiology involved let alone the modality of craniosacral therapy itself. No practitioner of CST would ever say that dilation and contraction of the brain moves cerebral fluid because they are taught the actual anatomy involved. This guy says that craniosacral therapy is directed at correcting cranial bone misalignment. That is not true. He is obviously confusing craniosacral therapy with Craniopathy because he is so poorly informed. Craniosacral therapy is directed at releasing fascial adhesions within the meninges that inhibit optimal circulation of cerebral spinal fluid. There is a whole text book devoted to the anatomy involved and the methodology. He just didn’t bother educating himself.
There are also books claiming the Earth is flat. Please provide high-quality, peer-reviewed research from unbiased sources supporting cranial sacral therapy, as we have not found any credible evidence. The idea of 'releasing fascial adhesions' is scientifically unfounded and largely imaginative, which is why this therapy is considered quackery. Consequently, this therapy is generally viewed by the medical community as a fringe treatment with predominant placebo effects. #evidencebasedtreatment
@@physioshow …a physio who hasn’t been trained in the fascial system of the body…no wonder you think people who do are flat earthers. I’m worse than a flat earther because not only do I believe that fascia encases the craniosacral system I also believe it has a piezoelectric quality😮
Repectfully, personal beliefs hold no weight in medicine. The foundation of best practice lies in informed decision-making grounded in evidence, which this treatment is sorely lacking in..
@@physioshow very true but I would also point out that understanding basic anatomy and physiology will always outweigh peer reviewed medical “evidence”. Aspirin was an effective treatment for 30 years before that beloved evidence appeared.
Keep taking those cortisone shots!!! 👍🏼
They're both a scam. Cortisone can make it worse and cause a rupture or severe degeneration of the joint, tendon or cartilage. Shockwave isn't as dangerous but it doesn't work. It's a money pit and a LOT of painful visits to the doctor to basically use a massage gun.
i got a cortizone injection for a hand rsi think i made a mistake question for channel owner if you only had one shot does this effect other parts of body long term as well or more in the area of the shot ? thanks a little scared i made wrong decision
Bro , either if u take it or not. Ur alrrady in pain and something is obviously wrong. The injection is the right way to go. I been on em for over a year. Its the only thing that takes my pain away. Rather take the injection then become an oxy addict.
@@donttrip4912 its depressing i got mine for minor rsi the steriod shot now effects everything it blew up on 5th day i decided to go prp injection route to try to fix what the cortisone destroyed in hand not going to get oxy or codine but it ruined my life for sure only reason i stay a little positive is i have hope the prp injection will work but skeptical it will take me to the point i was before the steriod shot cortizone shots are good for pinky finger not a dumb doctor it puts it in palm of hand for rsi rsi pressure injury in my case ....
I landed in my heel a few weeks back- I could not walk or put weight on my foot for 7 days- I’m 3 weeks away and still have crazy heel pain- I got X-ray and no break- so I’m guessing bruised heel pad or pinched nerve- what should I do to fix my pain-

I’ve been told I need a TKR Iam always in pain but the pain is liveable what I’d like to know is how bad do you need the pain to be before you say iam done let’s do it
The general concensus amongst therapists and surgeons we have spoken to is you know it's time when you cross the "I can't live with this knee" bridge. Otherwise, if your pain is manageable and your function is not greatly impacted, keep on keeping on!👍

I love it within the first 19 seconds the blow hard gets it wrong stating John Upledger was the popularizer of CST. What happened to Sutherland’s 54 years prior to Upledger? The guys like a frog in his pond, croaking majestically, unaware of the whale swimming in the sea.!
