The comment I agree with the most, is that it comes down to programming, the design and the Integrator. We are a Savant Integrator and have replaced Control 4 on 50 plus projects. It's an easy sell for us because their previous integrator did such a poor job, that the clients hate them. I only trust (2) Control 4 Integrators in my area. I'm sure the same can be said for Savant. We have just found it to be an easier end user experience from a Savant perspective. Either way, if you are looking at either choice, I'd recommend the Integrator be vetted and their previous clients be contacted prior to making a decision.
2:13 is a hilariously bad example of UI design principles. I'd be super confused and intimidated by it if I were a homeowner, let alone a guest! It presents directly alongside each other... Video streaming apps, music streaming apps, specific songs, and random assortment of specific smart home devices... some of which pertain to the theater, some which don't.

Savant has a very impressive lighting suite... comparable to Lutron
