I think control4 really shines for specific use cases like a home theater. Controlling lights, shades, projector, receiver, appletv/roku, etc all from one remote with easy button shortcuts like start movie mode.
I have a whole home c4 system since 2013. Also, I have a whole home Sonos and have scenes through out- linked. Hey Every light switch is replaced and half are custom keypads. I’ve had really no problems. My installer has done it all from the ground up and is diligent. We will ALL live this way in 10-15 years when is cheaper.. but I’ve been here for 7 yrs already.
Dedicated Home automation systems are not comparable with Alexa and Google assistant. Dedicated systems can execute more complex tasks locally without no delays. Its meant for reliability and consistency.
@@smithsne the Google home app does this way better and for free + it has voice control and other additional features. Go spend that control 4 money on a car instead.
Because it operates on a manufacturer (Control4) and Distributor (3rd party companies) system. That way all the hassle from costumer service is outsourced. Also, the system is not "easy" for an average person without basic engineering knowledge.

thanks for the intro to C4.
i loved the way you teach...
I hate you.
How do you get certified? And what’s the test like?
So in other words it unifies all the different smart home systems in one place...like Google home and Amazon Alexa...except way more expensive.
I'd say it's a tier or two above Google and Amazon.
No. It's like home assistant but then more professional
Thank you!
Does it work with reolink?
Thanks
I want control 4. I want it to control everything in my house.

Is control 4 Available in uk?
Yes
I dunno. Alexa does many things with one command.
This is stupid expensive, you can do this other easier and cheaper ways
That’s what I’m thinking. Alexa does all these things too. I’m trying to find the value in this instead. 🤔

Why isn’t control 4 a diy system?

Home assistant is what you want
