Another Poll Thursday pick from you guys!MASTERPIECE and arguably the best Dio song we’ve done out of the three! Thanks everyone! Which comes next? Let us know in the comments! 👍🤘😁🤟
Please do ozzy osbourne - mr crowley live 🙏
Hola kids, lol. Sorry I have been away, been down with the sickness, lol! Great reaction to an awesome song, if ever y'all get the chance, the live version of this song Is simply epic. Great to see y'all again, as always, much love&respect ^!^ Hmm- maybe We Rock can be next?
All the fools sail away
Sacred heart
Night people
Yeah, Dio did do this live and it was even more epic if possible.
Better In The Dark
All The Fools Sailed Away
Egypt (The Chains Are On)
Rock'n Roll Children
You guys should check out Richie Blackmore's Rainbow live in Munich 1977 with Dio on vocals on the song Kill The King. 🤘✌️
This is a masterpiece. The drums are perfect for air-drummers and those guitar fills between verses. Such a complete song in every aspect
I'm a simple man, I see DIO I click like.
thank you so much! 👍😁 -S
I love how you respect the song and wait till it ends to remove your headset. That's how I treat every Dio song... You never turn off or down until the very last note is heard. And you really need to hear him live....
I liked this song. And i've never heard of the band/song before.
Thanks for playing Dio.
i’m glad you enjoyed Brian! -S
Holy Diver and Last In Line albums, not a bad track on either, all killer - no filler !
damn that’s impressive! -S
Father & Son reacting together to DIO is heavenly
A song about judgement day... when we stand and are judged are we Evil or divine. RIP Ronnie, who did bring it vocally right up until the end.
A little man with that voice. He is so missed by us rock heads. RIP Ronnie. Peace!
His best song. Period.
Dio’s , to this day is still one of my three favourite vocalists of all time. This is a classic, epic number , thanks for reacting to it. If by some chance you have an all Dio poll, May I suggest that you add Children of the Sea, Neon Knights or Sign Of The Southern Cross from his Black Sabbath days. Again, great pick and reaction. Peace and love from Toronto!
I second the vote for those songs.... don't forget Rainbow songs as well..... Man on a Silver Mountain, Long Live Rock & Roll, The Shed.... and many more.
.. who are your other two favorite singers? .. and in what order would you rank them?
.. don't leave us hangin' 😀 ..
@@BrotherMan321 Robert Plant is my favourite, followed by Ronnie James Dio and then Freddie Mercury. Thanks for asking! Do you have a list?
@@jvmonte6638
Great list! .. For me?:
If we're talking metal singers in their prime:
1. Ronnie James Dio
2. Bruce Dickinsen
3. Rob Halford
I think that these three vocalists could be ranked in any order and you'd still be correct.
They are all equally great i.m.o.
if there was a list for most versatile vocalist, then Rob Halford (in his prime) goes to the top of the list for me.
If we are talking just straight up (non-metal) vocalists, I would put Freddie Mercury and RJD at the top of my list.
RJD is good enough to go on any list (metal or non-metal).
Check out his early recordings from way back in the day before he was a metal singer .. you won't believe it's RJD as we know him.
Cheers!
@@BrotherMan321 equally great list. Familiar with some of Dio’s earlier stuff like Elf. Will check out more, thanks!
Nice to see that the song put such a smile on your faces. It's a great song and Ronnie James Dio had such a poweful voice.
Could he hold the notes? Yes, my friends every night decade after decade! Dio used to warm up with the hole set. To quote Jens Johansson-keyboard if he ever heard him sing a false note: Offcourse not. Great reaction to a masterpiece, thanks guys.
You need to see the music video of this. Greatest singer ever.
Ronnie James Dio, one of the best metal singer ever! I saw Dio couple of times live in here in Finland. Never forget!!!
Ronnie and Vivian killin' it.
First things first: Vivian Campbell absolutely killed that solo, effing great guitar player. RJD was a genius, wonderful singer, great lyricist and he certainly understood dynamics. Vinny Appice is a true powerhouse on the drums. He also has also drummed for Black Sabbath and Heaven and Hell. Among los of other bands.
This is an epic song from an epic album. There's literally nothing bad I could say about this song, it's just heavy metal perfection. I love when bands play with dynamics, like stopping shortly before they shift into a higher gear, it just gives it much more oomph. You get curious what the silence is all about, listen more attentively and then they hit you with a sledgehammer. And RJD's voice, ah! That steely ring it had to it, the way he cut through everything. Fantastic band and an outstanding vocalist.
More RJD? BRING IT ON! I'm here for it. You maybe could give his Black Sabbath stint a try. Maybe Heaven and Hell, maybe Neon Knight, maybe The Sign of the Southern Cross, maybe The Mob Rules. Or his second stint: "I", or TV Climes, or Master of Insanity - or Time Machine, if you like Wayne's World ;)
Vivian Campbell was way under rated as a guitarist.
@@ttrails1 "is", fortunately. And yeah, he certainly is flying under the radar of most people and should get more attention. He deserves it
@@saschaschneider6355 Thank you for that. One never knows these days as some of us are getting up there in age as well and can't keep track of our glasses let alone who has passed and who hasn't. It is fortunate indeed.
My Favorites from Dio
1. Heaven and Hell...w/ Black Sabbath
2. Mistreated...live w/ Rainbow
3. Stargazor...w/ Rainbow
4. The Last in Line
5. Catch the Rainbow...live w/ Rainbow
6. Born on the Sun
7. Dont Talk to Strangers
8. Lonely is the Word...w/Black Sabbath
9. Holy Diver
10. Falling off the edge of the World...w/Black Sabbath
Dude this song still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Fire! I remember when this first came out. Slammer! Need to list his Sabbath songs. Some real good vocals there too
Kind of surprised you haven't heard this one father. This one of his more famous one's. One of my favorite's.

RIP Ronnie, one of the best guys in rock.
Hey Brad! We got a message that something arrived at the box! My dad will pick it up tomorrow 🤘😁 -S
@@fatherandsonreactions Cool, hope you guys enjoy!
Well I was sitting in my car ready to walk in to work, then this popped up on my feed. Well I just had to sit and headbang in the car. Almost late for work. ... and yes, this song crushed live. We Rock is a banger or his Rainbow stuff. Another one of his to check out; Falling off the Edge of the world from his Black Sabbath period. Great reaction lads.
OMG haha so sorry to keep you from work but that’s hilarious! Thanks for making my day with this comment. Cheers Steve 🥂🤟 -S
Rainbow - Mistreated - Live in Munich 1977 - Ronnie James Dio
This seems to be a lot of people’s favorite, perhaps the greatest live classical rock performance.
Also check out any of the Sacred Heart tour in Philadelphia 1986
Rock ‘N’ Roll Children - Ronnie’s favorite
Like The Beat Of A Heart - An underrated one
Time To Burn - First time EVER playing the song was this tour
Sacred Heart - Title track
Great reaction. I remember chills when it goes from soft to hard. Still some kind of surprise.
Thanks Paul! -S
Sons face was melting off for half of the song!!!
Haha, that’s the magic and the POWER of Dio 🤘🏼🤘🏼🌈⚡️
Great reaction fellas, glad you loved it!
Thanks Rob! -S
Tenacious D ( jack black ) did an amazing version of this song , also Dio is singing on a Tenacious D song Kickapoo
Ronnie James Dio sounds even better live his voice has raw power you have to do it live but make you you do it from the 80ties or 90ties. I loved your reaction.😂
Yes !! Live versions with Dio and Dickinson
Yeah, Dio was a real singer that could not just pull it off in the studio but also live which i really think was his best element and he also loved performing live. I have been a huge fan since the 80´s.
Nice. Dio was one of the greatest. I love his first two solo albums as well as the album he put out with Craig Goldy, Dream Evil. Sunset Superman is one of his best songs IMO. I had the same reaction when I first seen the Last in Line video on Friday Night Videos way back. The starting was pleasant enough but certainly not what I was expecting. Then it was like, Holy Shit...right on!!
been waiting for this one! such a great song. Love watching you guys when he dropped the hammer. Dio is one of my goto bands on a nice clear day.. put the top down on the Stang and crank it up, tear off the know and DRIVE!
Thank you! 😁🔥🤘 -S
You guys are great. Finally subbed. Rock on!!
Thanks!! That’s means a lot to us! 🤘 -S
This was my first time hearing this song as well and I second your WOW !!! The lyrics seemed to be about the battle between good and evil and we're structured perfectly and Dio's guitar solo was INSANE 🤯. Great song choice guys, keep on rockin'. 👏👍🤘✌️
Hey, that was Vivian Campbell on lead guitar.✌
My bad, you're right Dio only did vocals. 🤘✌️
@@doobiedave9686 No problem!! Take care.
glad you enjoyed Dave! Keep rockin as well 🤘👍 -S
Great reaction guys, Dio always managed to work with fantastic guitarists but in my opinion his best work was with Rainbow (Tarot Woman, Kill The King, Gates Of Babylon) or Black Sabbath (Heaven and Hell, Neon Knights, Sign Of The Southern Cross). For pure Dio songs though check out Don't Talk To Strangers,
Yes - Heaven and Hell (the Band Geeks do a great cover) and Neon Knights. Epic Dio
Dio’s Don’t Talk to Sttangers is my all time favorite song of theirs. It’s a must listen!
This album is very special for me. I 1st heard it somewhere in 1985 or 1986. And this was the very first heavy metal music that I liked. Because of Dio`s vocals i could stand the guitar heavy riffs and that opened for me a world of heavy music. I was struggling with Scorpions, Accept and other groups that my friends were listening through super loud volume - i couldnt breakthrough, for me the whole music was a pain for my ears and i was physicly suffering of the "noise". But for some reason i could accept Dio because his voice was more powerful then all the instruments and i could "stay" with him through the whole album. I dont say that Dio is the only reason i could enter new music world, but I am sure - he was one of the main conducters that brought a green light for me. I really love that man. He was so good at all he was doing - singing, writing lyrics, composing and e,t,c. I really love a lot of other great vocalists in heavy metal. But Dio seems to me not only one of the most powerful - I think he as a person was also full of light and energy same as he was giving away at the stage. I dont look at him as a performer or an artist doing his job. I dont feel it was a job for him. I felt he was one with his stage character. Some of my friends dont like Dio. Not everyone who listens to heavy music appreciate his legacy. I dont blame anyone. But I have a theory that those who dont enjoy Dio - has some damaged soul - so they can not accept his bright and romantic voice, they dont believe its true. I do. I really thin Dio was a true romantic.
My favorite singer.
No 1 better. Ever. Ill fight anyone.
Melody power soul opera soft
He sang anything.
Yall need to check out Ronnie singing LIVE
Prefferably before 1993..
He was awsome later in his life, but live 77
Live w sabbath early 80s some solo was great..
You want a live Dio ... one his best performances is with Rainbow, the song "Mistreated" from the '77 Munich Concert. His voice is so impressive.
"man on the silver mountain" is also fantastic RIP RJD 🙏
Your son reminds me of how i reacted to dio the first time i heard his voice.i was driving a forklift out in the steel yard with headphones on and i heard dio singin rainbows man on a silver mtn..i stopped the forklift and just listened to the whole song and i was just hooked from that day on..fast forward to today i have every dio album and all other albums with his voice on them..so run with it kid, you wont regret it.he was one of a kind.
I'm pleased to see Dio won the poll this week. He deserves it. I've only seen him 'live' once in the one and only time I've seen Black Sabbath on the 'Live Evil' tour. One of the greatest rock vocalist ever. I've got to go out and find this album you're playing. This is incredible. I'm blown away by this song guys. Great work. james:)
Lovely Relationship Guys !!! This can Bond a Dad&Son forever !!! I'm not talking about your reaction cos this Bond is Sealed & Dealed !!! This is 🔥🤘❤
Ronnie James Dio...proof that dynamite comes in small packages.
That was amazing watching your reactions! Reminded me of the first time I heard this song...please check out their Live From The Spectrum.. the live version is even better. Next? From the same album, "We Rock". Totally headbangers territory!! Thanks, have a good one!!🤘❤
What do you think of the official video for this song? I thought it was a load of tommy rot when I reviewed for the poll, but listening to this again in audio only format I thought it was great!
@@davemac1197 I agree with you on the official video of this song, but the live version is magnificent. (at the Philadelphia Spectrum Arena, '84).
It's not nearly as bad, but he resembles Gene Simmons too much for my liking. Audio only for me! Guitars are fantastic.
Thanks Lisa!! Ohh a live version would be cool! Thanks! -S
@@davemac1197 Glad you liked it. It never dawned on me that Ronnie resembled Gene. His voice sure doesn't.
If you want another great Ronnie James Dio song, Heaven and Hell by Black Sabbath when he was the lead singer. He said it was the best song he ever wrote!
When touring as a solo act, Dio did cover some Black Sabbath stuff. Check out the live concert version of "Heaven and Hell" (it's available, because I've seen other reactors doing it...) which will show you that Dio could absolutely kill it vocally live. One of the greatest voices in rock/metal to have ever done it. Another example of Dio's vocal greatness is "Stargazer" (also readily available on UA-cam) when he was with Rainbow. Your jaws will drop.
Dio, an undisputed staple of rock/metal. Every song has some sort of deep and thoughtful/ personal meaning! Have been a fan of his since day one! Great reaction as always!
Thanks Ron! We loved this one very much -S
oooh Yesss...He does it Live!!! Saw him in the 80's.
Yeah, you finally got around to my favorite Dio cut! This was one of my main jams when I was 16. Still amazing.
Hi friends , i am brasilian Metalhead for more 35 years ! Please Dio song " Don t talk strangers " , absoluty Power. , Amazing guitar solo , cheers my friends 🇧🇷🤘👽🤘
You definitely need to react to some live performances of Dio.
We definitely will do 🤘😁👍 -S
Great reaction guys, as always....Keep it up!
thank you! -S
RJD's vocals have always projected raw power and intensity. His pipes were made for metal. I knew you guys would love this tune. It's my personal favorite from him.
Yeah Dio rules!! I glad you enjoyed this song, the next could be sacret heart live, a Mechanic dragon is on stage 😏👌🏻🎶
Cheers E&L stay safe lml
Thanks! Stay safe as well!🤘 -S
Love the song! Great solo too. I think you have a homework Eathan hahahah
Overall loved how thight the song was. Even tought I don't know if it is the right word lol.
Just great.
Thanks for reaction!
James I’m so sorry I’ve been very busy lately and haven’t been able to get those videos to you! i’ll promise I’ll try to record one today! -S
Saw him so many times , was blessed to meet him , my avatar picture is me taken when I attended his funeral. seeing him live was life changing, you should check out the live footage from the 84 and 86 philly spectrum shows to see the power he had.
You know guys, when I had heard Dio for the first time, it wasn't quite my cup of tea. It was his voice, that was getting used to.
Today I really like their songs. 😄
It's a great band, and it was nice to see you enjoying it too.😁
Some goodies coming? I'm exited.😄😊
Glad you enjoyed Matt! 😃 -S
Yes *DIO* saw them back in 1984 up at *Red Rocks* for the *The Last In Line* tour was an incredible concert. 🤘
Fascinating reaction. A little trivia: The Last in Line refers to the band being at the end of the what was thought of the metal era at that time (spandex / hair / etc.). And Vivian Campbell has such a fantastic solo with speed and sophisticated phrasing. Yngwie Malmsteen was asked about his speed at that time, and he referenced Viv Campbell as the fast guitarist.
Idk bout all that buddy lol.
Im pretty well versed in Diology..
Nvr heard that.
@@andreo.7633 I imagine you're referring to the meaning of Last in Line. I heard that more than once, with once being an interview in which RJD was speaking.
Check out "We Rock" by DIO
🤘🤘🤘 It is Fire🔥
R.I.P. Ronnie.
THE MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN......
Dio always delivered live.
Always..
Even when his voice was bad he found a way around it. He was a true professional.
Yes try
Mistreated live munich 77 dvd clip
Heaven and Hell either live london 2005(old) or live amsterdam 83 OR live 86
A song u should really heae is KILL THE KING by Rainbow
Dios first big time band.
Whew! That song is a banger! Haven't heard it in a while. Lisa Morrison is right...the 'live' version is even better. Great reaction guys. You nailed it about the lyrics. Larry...keep on representing the scarf! Your trademark.
Thanks Mark!
i’ll tell my father you liked his scarf, he will definitely keep wearing it because he feels as though it’s become a “part” of the channel haha! Stay safe.
-Son
Your boy gonna turn out ok your a good dad !
🤘 hail dio
What a great, great song eh? Another banger song from that album is the first on the album, We Rock! And they sure do rock, I tell you what. Dio was a very special guy, a Legend! he was a great lyricist and vocalist...one of the best ever (RIP).
For my next suggestion, I'm going to pick a one-hit wonder (well, maybe they had 2 hits haha)...here is The knack with My Sharona (ua-cam.com/video/bbr60I0u2Ng/v-deo.html). I know jack squat about this band except that this song was everywhere when it came out and it still gets played on classic rock radio occasionally. Not spectacular, but catchy as heck. Cheers!
I wasn't sure if you knew or not But Ronnie passed away in 2010 from cancer. I remember hearing it, it was a terrible blow to music. But this song slays. Loved it when it came out, the video on MTV was fantastic, with the elevator, OMG it was great. With Vivian Campbell on guitar. DIO was amazing.
The intro and then the punch in the face vocals, love it!
ua-cam.com/video/360xvnsduDg/v-deo.html - the video
Oh. That's right. Be careful. On several DIO songs. Wait for it. Wait for it... Yes. Listen to the end...
One of those times when I know I have heard this song many times but couldn't tell you the band. Thanks guys, good one.
Glad you enjoyed Andy! 👍
(We also haven’t forgot about Angelina Jorden 😉) -S
Never heard of the song or band, but certainly something I can see myself listening to! I’ll take a look at more of there stuff, thanks guys!
Glad you enjoyed the song! We’ve done 3 by Dio so far and “Holy Diver” was my favorite and you might like it. Cheers! -S
@@fatherandsonreactions I’ll most certainly check them out. Thanks for the suggestions Ethan!
Excellent Choice. Every July 10th (RJDio's and my birthday blast DIO's song, WE ROCK. \m/ The Magic is strong and true \m/
Stand up and shout. More than a banger. This ones a ripper.
"Neon Knights"...1980 Black Sabbath"....killer introduction for RJD as new lead vocalist for an already legend of a rock band.
That was a great one
Nice song I loved that Lary&Ethan not heard that be for that was a banger.
i’m glad you enjoyed Paul! -S
Slow dancing with greatness
This is Dios prime and yes he could hold the notes
Try Dio when he was the singer of Rainbow.
Lady of the lake
Gates of Babylon
Man on the silver mountain
Like Bruce Dickensen, Dio sounds just as good live
The project I was talking about. Was Hear-n-aid.
Epic and Iconic ...... Dio 🤘
The way they WROTE DIO Logo on the Album, it spells "DEVIL" backwards. But DIO isn't a Devil Worshipper or anything, likely just a little something to sell some more records.
Dio was great and this definitely one of his best!
I never got to see him with his own band but saw him many times when he was with Sabbath and he was always superb live! 🤘😃
Eat Your Heart Out from album is great. And Die Young and Country Girl from when he was with Sabbath are great tracks that are also worth checking out.
Love Dio - But IMO his best work is with Rainbow. Anything off Rising Rainbow is excellent. Nice reaction though. RJD hits you right in the face if you are not ready. Great rock voice - epic in my mind.
Dio is the GOAT
Last in line live at the spectrum. He's even better live!! Check if out PLEASE!!!!
Great song, great reaction! :) Ronnie's voice is so powerful. Always did that song live of course.
BTW, funny enough, Jack Black won a grammy for his cover of this iconic song (Tenacious D).. check it out.
For other Dio songs, i would go with a slower song, All the fools sailed away.
Thank you ! his voice is definitely very powerful. thanks for the recommendation! -S
Well now i can die gracefully in the knowledge our great music is in young hands
No your not FATHER ! I'm LARRY ! The song was dope !!!! PEACE !!!!!!!!!! PLEASE BE SAFE OUT THERE !!!!!!!
Lol!! Peace Larry! -S
Yes, he does this live and his vocals are just as good as on the studio version. Here's a link from a performance in 1984 ua-cam.com/video/9q5S10dCHaE/v-deo.html
Great song.
Definitely! -S
They need to hear DIO when he was Ronnie and the Red caps . Vintage 1961
Sorry to let you know but Ronnie James Dio past r.i.p but to answer tour question he could hold his voice such a small man but such a giant impact ro rock and roll
Dio was so iconic 🤘
If you turn the Dio album upside down, the Dio logo will spell Devil!

Check out rock n roll children by Dio
Oh yes!!
Ronnie James Dio best live metal voice ever
This is the third attempt to post a comment here today - great reaction guys, but I wasn't impressed with the official video when I first viewed it to vote in the poll but now in audio only it's a real belter. Wonder if you've had a chance to view the video version since doing the reaction and if you had the same experience in reverse?
This one got posted because I replaced the word 'c r a c k e r' with 'belter' and it got through. So I guess a discussion about cheese or cream 'c r a c k e r s' is out of the question on this forum?
I never heard of this band or this song before ! They were pretty good!
@@brianb6024 - Hi Brian - Ronnie James Dio is American (b. Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in 1942) but recruited into British heavy rock bands Rainbow and Black Sabbath. I'm more familiar with Rainbow, produced some great belters in the late '70s and early '80s.
How are you today?
