Incredible channel, would love to see vlogs of you just driving around, going to the market, running errands etc. I feel you already do a good job at capturing an authentic life style and would love to see more.
I’m strongly considering moving there for a short period to get a break from the western world. In that case i would feel very safe doing it with all the information you put out. I was there for 3 weeks in february and loved it, north to south. Your content is amazing brother, i’m deeply inspired! Keep it up!
@kev_999 I haven't been yet. I'm in Philippines for a year just exploring. Vietnam is next on my list this year so I've been doing research and sometimes you find good positive information from expats in Asia. It's a legitimate question from you though so no stress
Another great informative video, Travis. I can see the mid-west chill vibe in your presentation. Problem is the secret about Da Nang is getting out. By the time I get a chance to visit I'm afraid it'll be crawling with westerners.
Great video Travis! Great effort as well! I'll create a small review of 3 hotels I've stayed in Da Nang on my channel soon before I forget about them for anyone who wants to stay here for a few days. You actually went to the airport for that small segment💪💪
I’m glad you just did this video. I was gonna bring enough clothes for five days. You’ve changed my mind. I only bring clothes for about three days and buy what I need over there. Thank you. Look forward to meeting you.
A caution on motorbikes, depending on where it's manufactured whether they drive on the left side or the right side will determine which handbreak is for the front and which ones for the back and if you're going fast you do not want to slam on the front brake or you will be making love to the Pavement.
Excellent stuff Travis as always. With regard to Esims I got mine from a Viettel store for a “local” price. You have to bring your passport and they take photos of it but it was a quick and easy process.
Thank you Travis for your time. I'm just kicking back here at the Galaxy a little under the weather. Also 16 new dedicated indoor pickleball courts just opened up about 3 km away 🙂
Nice video man. Been to Viet around 6 times because my wife is from there, so spent some time as a 'large' 6'4 New Zealander. If you are a big guy or gal, bring enough clothes cause nothing there will fit you. Also avoid those small children plastic chairs most little side street restaurants have - they make a big fuss when you fall on the ground - else stack 2 or 3 together if you can't avoid them. Else find a place with sturdy chairs, there are loads in the city. Also plan your day around places that you know will have aircon (cafes, modern malls, etc), just for some respite from the humidity. Lastly if your staying a while and there are medications you might run out of, check before you leave what alternatives could be picked up from a Viet chemist - many don't need a prescription but the brands/names will be different - i.e. blood pressure meds.
I rented a scooter in Hanoi and while following the flow of traffic, ended up driving down the sidewalk with a couple hundred other bikes. It’s insane. 😂
Hi, what part of the country is the beautiful temple at the 2:42 mark in? I've spent 6 weeks traveling in VN and have not come across it. I'm heading back for 6 more this summer and would love to see the temple. Thanks
@TravisTravelsVN Really? I actually did a boat ride in 2010 there and don't remember any temples...just beautiful scenery...maybe I shouldn't have been so cheap! ;) Thanks for the answer!
I wouldn’t drive in Vietnam as they drive opposite side of the road. It’s hard enough as it is with the chaotic conditions. I nearly got wiped out just crossing the road there because I’m use to looking the opposite way
I've heard the same thing with phones you buy from companies like Verizon AT&t and T-Mobile they won't work, you need unlocked independently bought phone basically ,,,I've heard on vlogs before for other countries
Bro thanks for noticing I spent way too much time trying to get the audio right cuz the wind and outside noise was so different at all the places I filmed haha
I've never seen anything like a cotopaxi, lots of nike, adidas, north face etc. You can buy backpacks, dufflebags, suitcases. I've never seen a good travel backpack in the markets here.
I would book the first few days, then extend or mix it up if you want to. I can give you recommendations if you give me a rough budget per night. Consider using my link for hotels: plannin.com/?refId=TravisTravelsVietnam
What’s the best tropical beach area for Vietnam? I like hot weather and clear blue white sandy tropical beaches . Would this be Gulf of Thailand or China sea side of Vietnam?
When you apply for the Evisa 30 tourist entry , the instructions say to list address for stay . If planning to visit a few places , how are you supposed to select hotels and pay for them before for the Evisa application ? Makes no sense . Is this what I need to do ?
No Vietnamese inside the country will not know what American football is. If u ask them about football they may think you're talking about soccer because outside of North America almost everyone refers to soccer as football. In terms of viewing it. Nowadays you may be able to get worldwide channels at a hotel. I haven't been back for awhile and things may have become more advanced since then.
If your phone is not e-sim compatible and you don't want to buy a new phone, then should you buy a SIM card in the city after you arrive? What are people's favorite local network providers? I will probably be in central and/or South Vietnam. I heard that the Mobiphon app can be read in English (eg. to see how much data you are using) whereas other ones are in Vietnamese only?
I'd love to I think its just a little too hot in Vietnam for a beard. I should have done it during the rainy season, not its already getting warm again
Bruh, how have you been there 6 years and don't have a girlfriend. Get a GF or nobody cares what you have to say. We're all interested in a love story.
Motorcycles are far too many in everywhere in Asia. The locals ride them and in addition, the international tourists do. Air pollution, traffic jam and danger is not a joke anymore. Worse than ever, the tourists loom around with bicycles. They can walk, please.

Ninh Binh in the north near Hanoi. You can do a boat ride that takes you to a lot of temples like this.

Is it smart to buy electronics (phone; laptop) in Vietnam?
All ok and cheaper than other countries
Funfact, the airport sim is still cheaper than the Esim. Even if the sim expires in a few days….
Yep defo cheaper. Regretted getting an esim after I left the airport last time I went.
I just arrange a driver to bring me to my hotel (WiFi). The next morning, I buy cheap sim.
Good info. The travel backpack, Cotopaxi you showed, Can you find it or good fake in shop or market in Da nang ?
I've never seen anything like a cotopaxi, lots of nike, adidas, north face etc. You can buy backpacks, dufflebags, suitcases. I've never seen a good travel backpack in the markets here.
GOOGLE Translate is fantastic ! I have used it for 10 years in Thailand, but it has made me lazy - to not learn more Thai.
Thank you legend, i'll see you in April brother, so excited ps i messaged you 😊
See you in April brother
Travis, a traveller to Danang said it was nice but the air is very polluted. Is this true. I will be in Danang next month and feel anxious about this.
Don't worry the air is mostly very good, especially compared to other parts of Vietnam
Is it safe to get ice in drinks?
Yes ice is always ok to drink
@ Thanks!
Great info, I am in da nang at the end of Feb for 4 weeks, am I better booking hotels before I go or just book when I get there, thanks

The Vietnamese island paradise of Phu Quoc, Travis probably hasn't been there...
Yes Phu Quoc is nice. I've been there several times
Niceee video

I put in the address of a random hotel without booking it. My eVisa was approved after 3 days.
Yes just list the first place or any hotel information they don't check your reservation
nice
Thanks , will you watch championship football this weekend?do Vietnamese people watch the Superbowl? Im guessing no
