Another great video! I guess if new blessings make into the Retro Hardcore PvP, EXP gains upon PvP kills must be MANDATORY, to get things balanced. Otherwise, these RHPvP servers will be just a power gaming fiesta all over again. Born dead servers.
I'm a noob, but if you have this crazy xp reduction on death, and add good exp gain for killing, doesn't it make it possible for some crazy pvp PG where friends just kill each other as often as possilbe (not sure how limiting the blessing costs are for HL) And I knew death penalties had been nerfed...Just got back to playing and died on my lvl 60, but it felt much less impactful than when I used to die at lvl 40 or so back in the day (and I don't even have blessings...)

I didnt played Tibia for last 4 years because there were no PVP anymore. I was happy to hear that there is new Retro Hardcore PVP server coming up, but now it doesn't matter. Killing players was satisfying because you knew he will struggle getting his level back, I don't see the point of killing players anymore cause I will waste more on supplies than they lose on their death.
I mean it's already pointless, you barely lose anything with blessings these days anyway. Not to mention the 130 pots skewing everything to the point where you'd have to rely on mechanics like diagonal pushing just to land kills unless you're way higher level and/or way more people. Tibia PvP has always been lacking imo.
I'm really glad you are uploading videos again , I was thinking on coming back to tibia rl to a hardcore pvp world and I was wondering if your guild accepts "new" players . Thanks a lot for every video . :)
Eric, what hotkeys do you use while hunting? Your running healing and mouse movements looks pretty smooth whereas I tend to switch hands all the time making it somewhat iffy
This is not a bug but a remnant from the old days when it were "normal" to have 500-700++ ms in the golden days of ISDN/Dial-up. It can be oversimplified like this: You can queue up "buffered" commands at the same time. In a high MS scenario if you couldn't queue up commands you could get instaces where holding down a movement button would still "stutter" you forward, therefore they made it so you could buffer inputs. Theese "buffered inputs" would get registered somewhat at the same time, but input to the server at different times and would allow you to walk steps more smoothly. The problem now is that with ms below 100 they can appear on the same frame, so if you hold the left button, and then hold "use pot" you can get instances where "walk left" and "use pot" lands on the same frame. The result is that "use pot" gets priority, and "walk left" gets threwn. To counter this, simply tap buttons instead of holding them. Or to see a funny screen glitch, use a paralell input keyboard and hold movement and use-pot at the same time, if you have low enough MS you should be DCed(from input buffer overflow), else you should jump between 2 frames insanely fast.

This is far from a new "bug" if you want to call it that, and has been around at least since at least 7.1 where you could (among others) provoke it by spaming a vial of sheeps blood (or any liquid) on the premium area teleportation tile in Rook(this would then not remove the liquid). After that automation tools such as Tibia Bot NG manual fishing, or any Logitech G macros have also had the same effect. Nowadays you can simply create a hotkey and spam/hold any queuable command: "be it potions, spells or even shovels (on useable terrain such as Ankh desert)". Now assuming this has indeed been "known" for all time, then you are either putting very little trust into Cipsoft to not be able to fix it in what? 15 years? Or you are putting very high trust in your own ability to spot "propaganda" from a easily (provided) falsifiable statement. Let the parrot quotes stay satire please.
Yes. everything in this video is correct. BUT, we are not taking in consideration the following: The amount of money you lose if you purchase the blessing with tibia coins. Alternatively, you would lose also a considerable amount of time to walk to each blessing npc manually, not forgetting the money it costs plus the chance of getting caught by a PK team that's waiting for you. Nowadays most dominant guilds know exactly when an enemy player dies do they wait patiently for them to fall for the bless trap. Do it's either losing a considerable amount of money or just wasting time and risking dying without blessings

That's a great idea! I could do something like that with damage or exp, but with loot there's a lot of luck involved so it would take many hunts to draw an actual conclusion.

I am a big fan of lower exp loss but its because i dont have much time to exp, i try to avoid deaths because the exp loss is just major time loss. I avoid pvp because of the higher chance to loose exp, with these reduced death penalties, i have started pvp and look forward to not loosing so much exp. guess we all have different play styles and play for different reasons.

I see, it seems you are right, but still for me is a very atractive world to play. Do you think people will actually going to play on this worlds or become empty like dolera and inferna? Are you going to pay on them or the NA server?
i dont see the reason why the new blessings are added. Its not like you lost anything even before these new blessings. they removed all the tense in running dangerous stuff. people liked killing other players because they lost exp and items, now you litreally lose 5 min hunting. takes away the satisfaction because it costs you 4-5x the money that the other player loses. why even bother.
So for us normal non-cheating people, dying will be too expensive (money-wise) if you have blessings and too expensive (experience-wise) if you don't >.
It's hard to remove blessings nowadays because people want to protect their items. With quest rewards only being able to be obtained once per character you don't want to risk losing them.
I disagree. People that care about their itens can still use Amulet of Loss, which despite being reduced to "useless" because of the blessings, it will be worth the gold once they are removed. AoL costs exactly 50k gold (max price for ToF). Except that people would still lose that whooping 10% exp. (without Unfair Death, that is).
LOL. i played this game when you were still in your dad's little nut sack kid. Game is garbage now. pvp is dead, and now you can just buy your way to a high lvl. Overall Maximum: 64028 players (on Nov 28 2007, 19:26:00 CET) peak time is what nowadays? oh yeah :D
Eh, I'd rather not have them, but I am still here. I have become indifferent toward all this new stuff. I see it from Cipsoft's point of view. A lot of it is necessary in order to keep income up with botters on the way out (hopefully).

I see, it seems you are right, but still for me is a very atractive world to play. Do you think people will actually going to play on this worlds or become empty like dolera and inferna? Are you going to pay on them or the NA server?
i dont see the reason why the new blessings are added. Its not like you lost anything even before these new blessings. they removed all the tense in running dangerous stuff.
people liked killing other players because they lost exp and items, now you litreally lose 5 min hunting.
takes away the satisfaction because it costs you 4-5x the money that the other player loses. why even bother.

Isn't dying still pretty expensive though? Even if you now lose very little experience?
Hopefully it will be without bots bringing in tons of gold.
So for us normal non-cheating people, dying will be too expensive (money-wise) if you have blessings and too expensive (experience-wise) if you don't >.
Doesn't that mean that pretty much the solution for PvP servers is to remove blessings altogether?
It's hard to remove blessings nowadays because people want to protect their items. With quest rewards only being able to be obtained once per character you don't want to risk losing them.
I disagree. People that care about their itens can still use Amulet of Loss, which despite being reduced to "useless" because of the blessings, it will be worth the gold once they are removed.
AoL costs exactly 50k gold (max price for ToF). Except that people would still lose that whooping 10% exp.
(without Unfair Death, that is).

Very sure. Retro Hardcore PvP should technically be the same as Morta/Mortera, but without the skulls.

Eh, I'd rather not have them, but I am still here. I have become indifferent toward all this new stuff. I see it from Cipsoft's point of view. A lot of it is necessary in order to keep income up with botters on the way out (hopefully).
