Reversible Round Basket - DIY Tutorial
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 лип 2015
- In this video tutorial I teach you how to make a reversible round fabric basket. These little organizers are so cute and easy to make! I have a bunch of these around my studio for things like Wonder Clips, chalk, thimbles, spools of hand quilting thread and my favorite is to use it as a thread catcher right by my sewing machine!

You are an excellent teacher! Thank you!
I’m a real sewer & I want to tell you that you were excellent on doing a step by step videos... thanks....
Love this. Real glad I found this and I will definitely be making some of these! Excellent tutorial.
One of many things i Love about ur videos is that you don't take forever to get to the project. A lot of youtube videos i watch, they take forever to get to the project, some just ramble on n on n on n repeat themselves soo much. With those i usually turn them off n move on....you do a great job explaining n demonstrating the project. Thank you soo much
You're welcome! Glad to help! :)
Karen H agree so much, it’s quick and consise. Sometimes she’s giving more detail for people new to sewing but that is easy to wait through because she is quick with that...I remember being new, so feel it’s important all levels of expertise benefits. Great videos!
Very nice tutorial! Well put togather. I've been sewing for years (long before video tutorials), its refreshing to see someone as young as you teaching. It's reasuring to see the next generation of instructors!!
Excellent! Just like putting a waistband on a gathered skirt. It's been 55 years since I did that. You did a great job!
Thanks!
Love your videos. Can't understand why some people give a hands Dow. Your videos are great for new sewers and old alike. Please keep them coming
Try the triangle bags too.
I can’t understand why she doesn’t have her own show.
I love these baskets. I had extra quilted fabric and made two baskets to go along with a 3 piece (assorted sizes) set of round hot pads for a gift. My daughter was so happy with her new set. The baskets were the biggest hit !!!
Awesome manicure….it is sooooo cute 👍🏽🫶🏽❤️. And of course awesome video 😁🤩
Great little baskets, quick too. And as others have said, no waffling. Thank you 😀
These would/will make fantastic presents! Make a cute little basket, fill it with goodies!
Thanks I really want to use one for the threads that float all over my sewing/bedroom/ craft room. Great ideas, keep them coming
Vanessa, you hit the mark, as always. i love the trick of using the yarn to gather the basket, and will be sure to use it with ruffles and other gathering needs - so much easier than pulling the bobbin thread.
Love those little baskets! A definite will do.
you are very happy & enthusiastic i love your video , God bless you, thank you very much
Thanks for another great tutorial! Sometimes I watch DIY tutorials just to be amazed, but they don't really tell me how to do it. You give detailed, clear explanations of what to do and WHY you do it that way. It really helps me to get mine like yours, or to modify mine without ruining the end result.
I made these yesterday...so easy and so handy. Will share this idea with my cousin who will just flip. Thank you so much for your tutorials. Love them.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm in love with these baskets. They're perfect for what I want them for and they're so simple to make. I've been looking high and low to buy a small cloth basket to hold all my charging cables and headphones. After a month of searching I decided to make it myself. Your sight was the first place I looked and I wasn't disappointed. Thanks again. I've learned a lot from you!!
Thank you, Vanessa. What a decorative way to get organized!
Great little basket for storing hair clips and slides !
these would make awesome nests for wildlife rescue organisations. Thanks for the tutorial!
I love love that tutorial of reversible baskets, it was adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Love your method of teaching and your step-by-step instructions. The one thing I tend to use the baskets for (as well as the bowl cozies) is setting my raw eggs into them before I crack the eggs, so the eggs will not roll off the counter and hit the floor.
Love this! Made one for my sister as a ‘candy dish’ for her desk top at work. When I gather a small project, I pull our some extra thread from behind, take a zigzag stitch, then bring the threads from behind forward and zigzag over that. Same concept if you don’t have yarn are wire available. Thanks for sharing all your projects!
Love this cute tutorial! I'm starting a Sisters Sewing Circle at my mosque and this will be a great gift to make for the gals.
I think your tutorials are the best of all that is out there. Very easy to follow directions. You have great projects and they are all so useful. Thank you.
These little baskets look like a ton of fun to make. Great idea. I love your hair style too.
I finally got around to making a couple of these. I went with the 8 inch size, and I did them by hand. I had a lot of waiting around to do at an appointment, so I wanted a nice distraction to keep me busy. Very happy with the way they came out, now I'm planning to make more, next time I'll do them on my sewing machine. Thanks for a nice tutorial, and a useful project. Xx
I really enjoy all your demos. Your instructions are clear and precise and most importantly, I love your enthusiasm
your explanations are excellent. you keep things moving, but offer ample detail. love your tutorials
I made two of these, one small, the other larger. I love them and use them all the time!!
I absolutely love this basket and it's the first time I have seen one done this way. Awesome. You have came through once again sweet lady. Thank you.
These are great! I'm going to make some to keep paperclips tidy at work :)
Thank you so much, definitely going to try these.
These are great. I'm going to make a bunch to use for serving dry foods at picnics, because they are much lighter than bowls and they fold flat.
All of your videos are so complete! I love them! You make it look so easy. Thanks!!!!!
lady you've got some sick skills there.. I'D SO sew onto the yarn XD
your tutorials are so clear and concise- thank you !!
Cool idea! Love the rooster! !
Thank you. I loved this! I'm going to practice making a couple for myself. Once I get the hang of it, I'm going to make a couple for my kids' teachers for Christmas. :-)
So glad I found you! Love this tutorial!
Your explanation inspires beginners learn more. Thank you.
I've never seen these before. How cute! Looks pretty easy, but I definitely did not inherit my mom's sewing gene, but I did keep her machine when she died. She made almost all my dresses for high school dances and she made my wedding dress. I'm lucky to be able to see a hem...lol
Thank you for this tutorial, I made the basket and it turned out perfect. I love to use it to catch my threads. I will make a couple more as I have a lot of leftover fabric, to keep my clips and such in. Thanks again and have a great day
Great little basket. Very cute!

Thanks for this tutorial...I can't wait to make mine!
Thank you so much for all your tutorials, Vanessa! I finished my fabric basket today and am very happy with it.
I actually started from 8 1/2 inch squares which I quilted first, then I cut the circle (using a plate as a template). I used dental floss for the gathering, as you suggested (fun idea). The difficult bit for me was sewing on the binding on the machine (12:40) so there was some unpicking involved (because the zig-zag stitches still showed at first) but it was worth it. Keep up the good work!
Today, it was my 1. Sewing project for 2017 and very nice und easy to follow. Thank you very much. Kind regards Marion

So cute, and I'm scrap busting, therefore going to make these. I use an Olfa circle cutter now, and I love the gathering method. Thanks Vanessa... and P.S.....this was my absolute favourite bowl to make...I was SO happy with it! I have never used that gathering method before, but it was so easy and effective. ❤
