I had a very dear friend named Stephanie Barnett who died way too young. She colored her hair the same as this actress did. This is a melancholy scene for me.

Loved the Dr. Stephanie story arc, wish they'd had it last longer. Other than Penny, Stephanie is the only one who did a decent job of handline Sheldon.

She's one of the better side characters in the show for sure lol wish she was on longer as well.

The actress who played Stephanie was one of the best appearances on the show. I think she deserved more episodes, very talented.

It is one of the most shameful aspects of the show that they had an array of really talented actresses and they were all under used.
@@ianlacey6588 Like Leslie Winkle. One of the best characters in the earlier seasons of the show and a great comedic foil to Leonard and Sheldon but then just vanished from the show. She was kind of replaced by Barry Kripke in that role but he was never as good of a character at all and a lot of the time he felt super shallow with the writers just making the fact he's a pervert with a speech impediment his entire character. Leslie was awesome.

Leonard was kind of broken because of living with Sheldon and I think Alex wouldn't have like that as Alex was driven mad by Sheldon. Only a person who was a friend of Sheldon would be a perfect fit for Leonard i.e penny and Stephanie and Stephanie was a better choice.

I don't know if she would be a good regular - saw her here, saw her in rules of Engagement - excellent in both. But, like Baranski, something tells me they are better off as recurring characters to spice things up for a while, then go.

Agreed. Although entertaining, the later seasons became a bit flooded with multiple story lines. As with any sitcom though, I suppose it must evolve and reach an ending somehow and the ending they gave TBBT was absolutely beautiful I thought. The writers did an amazing job with the ending. I do miss new episodes though. I honestly doubt there will ever be another show like this one on T.V. ever again. I can remember watching the pilot when it first aired and thinking "This show is gonna be HUGE!" There had never been another one like it before
@@bryankerbow7871 its the sitcom trap. Instead of letting her character grow, they kept reseting to initial charachter traits and amplying them as seasons continued. If you notice, they amplified pennys superficialness an bullsht right up to "settling" for leomard to up until the baby storyline..
Realistically they would never have broken up because a real life penny would either be in love with leonard as a form of understanding that its best she invest im him, given he was her best shot at a proper life.
All the guys she dated were basically losers as the show points out and it became obvious that leonard was the only consistent anchor to her having a proper future..
She barely acted like she was interested in the relationship and marriage to leonard as opposed to when she was dating he losers... not realistic at all.
Yeah before Amy and Bernadette, I do like the characters but prefer the first few seasons

Stephanie was one of my favorite guest characters on BBT. I wish there was a way they could have kept her on in some semi-recurring manner after she and Leonard broke up. Charming and great delivery on her role.
I loved the show when Penny and Leonard were off and on all the time. A great dynamic.

Sara Rue was so hot in the show but her character was despisable.
He made it seem like a big deal. Could of have just said “yeah the coffees here, oh that’s just penny”
If he had experience being a player, he could. but for all the women he slept with in the series, he never considered himself a player, so he never saw a reason to cover his backside--he always considered himself a loser in the dating game, so he accepted the embarassment as just another failure.
I liked this Stephanie character. Wasn't happy about the way the showrunners got rid of her character.
Yeah there was no conclusion with her character even though she had been on multiple episodes. It was almost like they just didn’t want to pay her for another episode to end her arc
@@quackster8295 she was never meant to be a main character, she only had a deal for 3 episodes and was just another road block or stepping stone to Penny. It was odd they didn’t at least mention her the next episode, but I guess they felt that arc was done and wanted to move on.
Yeah she just kinda vanished last we heard Leonard left to have sex with her then we never see her again

You know I think they should’ve allowed Penny to also have serious relationships outside of Leonard. It would’ve made it mean more when she did choose him- because every guy she was with either never got a name, we never even met, or was very clearly a “this is why you should be with Leonard”. They basically left her with no other choice.
A big part of her character is her fear of real relationships so it wouldn't have made sense for her to get into a real long term one in the middle of her more casual relationships. Especially when why it took their relationship so long to develop is that Penny wasn't as ready as Leonard to make things serious.
Had Penny been the type to have a serious relationship, she would have no need for Leonard--she could get anything she wanted from him by being a friend, no need for sex whatsoever since she would be getting it everywhere else. She was a party gal from the midwest, he was a brainy type constantly sleeping with brainy women. The fact she isn't his type and vice versa makes her the obvious "trophy" for him to win over and feel better about himself--that's what it meant for her to choose him, she doesn't go for brainy types because she isn't one herself. If Penny had not been a party gal, she would have been with that one guy who even Amy felt something toward (Zack) since he had stability with his father's menu business, and they would have been equal in intellect. She could have kept scamming dinner out of the guys and hanging out with them whenever her boyfriend was busy, though he felt after the telescope routine that he might actually fit in.
(though some attractive women who love playing the dating game will also try for the guy out of their league, just to prove to themselves they can win at everything).
In real life, women like Penny tend to go with the stable good guy over the random alpha when the biological clock begins to ring and they want a faithful father--that's what is meant when it's said, "nice guys finish last".

I did not like Stephanie, I could never see how Leonard would have really fancied her at all, Alex, yes but it was Penny that he really wanted and that is what he got. Penny was the perfect choice for Leonard and it is obvious that Leonard thought that as well. As for great careers, what has that got to do with their relationship but as it turned out, Penny had a job earning more than Leonard anyway, so, it all worked out great for both of them and ended exactly how I wanted it to..

@@N73B60 this was many years ago and Big Bang Theory is no longer in production. Tickets for tv shows are usually acquired from different companies that offer them. A friend got me my ticket. Where to get tickets should be offered online, I’d imagine. It’s typically free to see a taping.

Seasons 1-3 of the big bang were so good. The show changed its course so much from 4 onwards that watching episodes from 1-3 feels like a totally different show. Imo the first 3 were the best
They gave all the characters girlfriends way too early especially Sheldon. I feel like that's what made the show so interesting at the start was them being awkward around women and it was almost taken out before the show was even a third of the way through. Every time I rewatch the show I wish it had focused on the guys and penny for 2 or 3 more season without the extras.
Agreed. The show became something different, to the point that I stopped watching after the 8th season and didn't come back to watch the rest and finish for years after it went off the air. There was something about the first 1-3 seasons of 4 geeky guys trying to make it in a normal world. The girlfriends just convoluted it all.
I wish Stephanie was regular. She fit the narrative more than Prya, Amy and Bernadette. This is was one of my fav scenes in the entire series.

OK, so what would have put the cherry on top of this scene is if Stephanie forgot something and then found Penny, still in her underwear, and Leonard in his room together. That would have got the blood boiling and set up great friction/drama.

I suspect she left (in story) cause Sheldon became unbearable (asking for the all the health diagnoses) but they didn’t show it cause she was popular and a good fit for Leonard so they just didn’t show any bad fallout like they did for his other girlfriends. Also, I think the implication is that whoever got with Leonard had to also accept Sheldon (and vice versa).

Well, when you have a lot of money to hire personal trainers and have a great diet , you too can be "freakishly fit".I agree that she also works hard for it ,but it's just not the same for a regular person. A regular person has to workout regularly along with a job and cook his/ her own food unlike the celebrities.
