Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker is the most accurate Peter Parker & Spider man. Because, he understands the complexity of Peter's true lore. Peter Parker is not always a 'NICE GUY' sometimes he's also a big douche, an edgy mf but he's a kind person at the end of day. He's not a complete nerd. he just doesn't mix with everyone so people automatically assume that hes a lonely loser but he's a complete chad infront of his close friends. Andrew touched all of these character traits of Classic Peter Parker.
Tom’s the most comic accurate because of his personality, character traits, morals and attitude. As Peter he’s a massive dork, like how he’s the smartest kid in the class, how he builds legos, how he references star wars and other “old” movies. Tom’s Peter is also considered a outcast and a loser, he gets made fun of by Flash and the whole party chants “Penis Parker” just showing how much of a loser people think he is. He can be doubtful and not believe he’s good enough, like how he didn’t think he was good enough for Liz. At the same time Tom’s Peter can get overconfident and cocky because he knows he’s Spider-man, how he wants to be respected by other hero’s, and brags about how he fought Captain America and stole his shield. He’s also broke, like having to sell his own personal belongings to buy MJ a necklace, can’t afford a new backpack in homecoming, dumpster diving and in No way home Peter literally says “i’m the most famous person in the world and i’m still broke.” Tom’s Peter is also very conflicted on being a normal teenager or being a superhero, he struggles with that double life as Peter Parker and Spider-man. As Spider-man he’s overconfident, witty, charismatic, quipy, humorous and determined to do the right thing no matter the cost. His Spider-man is extremely heroic and is just that classic Friendly neighborhood Spider-man. Even while New Yorkers hates Spider-man and thinks he’s a menace because of the Daily Bugle and Mysterio, he still gets out and stops crime. He is such a classic Spider-man, like helping a old lady with directions, stopping a bike thief, fighting ATM robbers and drug dealers in a restaurant, saving a cat from a fire, everything he does is so classic Spider-man. If you hate Tom as Spider-man or Peter Parker well you just aren’t a Spider-man fan.
I've always seen their personalities as this Tobey Maguire is the Ryan Drummond: Campy and awkward with tons of cheesy yet nostalgic lines. Has the biggest cult following Andrew Garfield is the Jason Griffith: Cooler and edgier and his stuff was a bit more mature even if they were seen as a mixed bag Tom Holland is the Roger Craig Smith: Very comedic and does tons of meta humor and is the most mainstream one. Again, very interesting parallel
I love that most agree Andrew is the most accurate. It’s why he’s been my favorite since his debut as the webhead in 2012. I love Andrew Garfield and his version of Spidey.
It’s actually “Amazing” that every live action actor for spider-man has been great. There has been a couple bad movies and scripts, but the actors casted did a great job portraying Spider-man.
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of this movie Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise again Spider-Man was nothing without her
TASM 1 sucked. It's not memorable at all. Andrew Garfield will not be remembered as Spider-Man. That clearly belongs to Tobey Maguire. Sam Raimi knew wtf he was doing (save SM3's studio interference).
When it comes down to the overall movies I feel Sam Raimi had the best grasp on bringing Spider-Man comics to the big screen out of the 3 directors the live action movies have had. But when it comes down to the individual character of Peter Parker/Spider-Man I feel it was Andrew Garfield that feels closest to the comics to me expecially in TASM2. Everything from the humour, the physicality, the suit, good representation of average young working class guy & of course that Peter Parker will & determination to pick himself up keep going no matter how bad life gets.
I mean Andrew Garfield is basically 616 Peter by his looks and Spider-Man's cocky and confident attitude his origins and his personality and also comes from Ultimate Spider-Man so he's both I definitely see him as 616 Spider-Man. Tom Holland is Ultimate Peter Parker due to his age mentorships with Tony Stark and Nick Fury he has the Miles Morales journey but he's also very reckless and stubborn than the other two so he's Ultimate Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire is his own type of Spider-Man he's based off the original Stan Lee & Steve Ditko comic run However his portrayal of the character is not as comic accurate as Andrew and Tom because of his awkwardness and cringey moments his relationship with Mary Jane is bad and forced. He's very good with the responsibility side but he does do some very dumb things that Andrew and Tom will never do to their girlfriends even before he was taken over by the symbiote.
personally, i'd say peter b parker ik this probably applies to only live action, but overall i'd say peter b. in itsv he encapulates how being spider-man really is like after 22 years, and even so it still applies to the comics where after being spider-man, peter really does consider quitting, but he hasn't because he still holds on to the phrase of "with great power, there must also great responsibility". i feel peter b captures of what would happen to a person after doing something for so long, he's burnt out, tired and overall depressed. this REALLY fits the character in the comics, and he still has the attitude from the comics where he's jaded, sarcastic and he even does well when he quips. he still has that trickster tone, which makes him even more accurate. heck he's even more comic accurate considering that he had an aunt may that died (like in asm 400 and the civil war run), and also that in the canon event scenes, his own events mirror the comics, which solidifies him being very comic accurate (the canon events scenes with the marriage mirrors asm annaul 21 and also the captain stacy scene which mirrors asm 90).

The best comic book adaptation was Spider-Man 2002 movie it felt like Amazing fantasy first appearance Spider-Man 1962 comic book it does copy the story where he gets bit by a spider get bullied by flash Thompson the wrestling match and the name was changed bonesaw McGraw instead of crusher Hogan again it was amazing it's accurate to the comics 👍😀
Not even a full minute into the video and you're already off to a horrendous start. Peter Parker was originally depicted as 17-18 when he was bit by the spider, in Amazing Fantasy, this has been confirmed by several writers and even Stan Lee himself in an aside-panel about Betty Brant which refers to Peter as "the high-school senior" in ASM #4, a staggering 24 issues before he would graduate. Peter Parker was always intended to be late high-school into early college age. The Ultimate comics were the first to change this, making Peter 15 at the time of the bite and 16 at the time of his death. Mainline continuity went on to retcon Amazing Fantasy during the Civil War event and adopted the earlier age of the Ultimate comics for the bite but that DOESN'T change the creator's intentions, the people who wrote Civil War did NOT create Spider-Man. Do some light research, next time, and talk about the multiple incarnations if you're unsure as to what the truth is. Assholes like myself will always be here to set you straight.
Imo if we were to fuse every comic Spider-Man interpretation, Tom Holland would be close to the result, he is the most comic accurate in terms of character but not of story
Lol tom holland is by far the least accurate. His character has little to no attitude, he doesnt mock his villains, he doesnt swing in NY, hes always acting like the kid in the avengers team and lacks that kinda snarky or kinda “douche” personality traits that Spidey is known for
@@gama103 Wow, this take couldn’t be more wrong if it tried. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is one of the most comic-accurate portrayals ever. Saying he has 'little to no attitude' is laughable did you miss him roasting Falcon and Winter Soldier, or quipping at Vulture’s crew and even Mysterio? Spidey’s humor has always been situational, not non-stop, like in the comics. Claiming he 'doesn’t mock his villains' is just as bad watch Homecoming or No Way Home again and count how many times he cracks jokes mid-fight. And 'doesn’t swing in NY? Did you fall asleep during the ending of No Way Home, where he swings through Manhattan in his most comic-accurate suit yet? That’s textbook Spider-Man. Finally, calling him 'the kid in the Avengers' just shows you don’t understand the character. Spider-Man has always been the young, scrappy underdog trying to prove himself among bigger heroes it’s part of his essence. Tom Holland perfectly captures Peter Parker’s awkwardness, Spider-Man’s confidence, and the constant struggle to balance responsibility with being a kid. Maybe instead of clinging to this outdated, one-dimensional view of Spidey, you could try actually paying attention to the movies and the comics.
Andrew is the most accurate spider-man, but Tobey has the most accurate universe if that makes sense. Tom is pretty much his own thing. Definitely the least accurate in most ways.

Aside from the web shooters it’s Tobey He did the wrestling thing He got the actual speech (I know Uncle Ben didn’t say it originally but that’s been retconned for so many years now) Also Responstatility? lol bruh
Honestly, none of them really fit as a “comic accurate” version. Tobey Maguire is too much of a goody two shoes softboi, Andrew Garfield too much of a departure in everything but aesthetics, and Tom Holland is a mix of old and new. They’re all different versions of the character that work for their respective stories, not a one to one copy of the comic version.
personally i think it really depends on what comics people are talking about. they could be talking about amazing spider-man from the 60s, ultimate spider-man, spider-man reign. i think there can't really be "true comic accuracy", but if we're talking about what the adaptations are trying to take inspiration from, i feel it could be more plausible. i think andrew's spidey is a blend of early ultimate spider-man comics with the amazing spider-man comics, cause andrew's spidey has uncle ben who was very akin to ultimate spider-man's uncle ben, and amazing spider-man in terms of how andrew's spidey was so arrogant and angry in the movies.

Is not. He meets Gwen in the third movie while he's with MJ, has organic web shooters, and his parents weren't even mentioned, let alone SHIELD agents. Tobey is the GOAT. But Garfield is the most accurate for sure
@@calebfoster7148His parents not being mentioned doesn’t matter, Tobey was based off the original ditko comics and Peter Parker’s parents weren’t relevant at the time until more modern comics after his movies started to be released. Mary Jane played the role as Peter’s first and true love so Gwen not appearing until later on hardly matters. I don’t agree with this criticisms. His organic webs are the only ones that are plausible.
@prodigypixel7103 his parents were spies as far back as 1968, and MJ was just a girl aunt may was trying to set him up with, but the fans loved her, so Gwen died. Not mentioning his parents is still not accurate since the comics do. MJ showed up first in the comics, but you didn't even see her face before Gwen's.
I think in my opinion I think that: Tobey was a good Peter Parker but not a good Spider-Man Andrew was a good Spider-Man but not a good Peter Parker Tom I think was decent with both of being Peter Parker and Spider-Man but I think it could be better, there are few issues I have with him.
Tom Holland's Peter Parker doesn't have an uncle ben , instead his regular parents were killed in 2011 in Iron Man 2 by the Hammer Drone Robots. Tony saved peter who was using a toy repulsor at the hammer robots and tony told him "nice work kid" for his bravery and that caused him to be a hero when he got the power instead of using it for himself He got his power in 2015 making him 14 years old

Tom is waaay too passive to be Peter, he acts more like miles then Peter. Peter is an argumentative rebellious, angry teenager, did you not even watch the video? Or did you have that same opinion forever that you got from a comment and didn't actually read the comics?
@@SuperTimLand Peter was only an argumentative ******* while Ditko was still working on the book. Something repeated in almost every character Ditko worked on. Not only has that been commented on and and almost "soft retconned" by Peter, most notably by Al Ewing, but by the time Gerry Conway was writing him this was barely a thing anymore. But even if we ignore any character development past Ditko and early Romita Sr, that's barely revelant considering most of the modern portrayals of Peter's teenage years are more inspired by Bendis' Ultimate run anyway where that's just not a thing.. My opinion about who does the best Peter is my own based on my own reading of the comics and viewing of the movies. Which yes, is fairly influenced by the Ultimate run, but does include most (though i admit not absolutely everything) from Lee/Ditko to Straczynski.. The way i see it, Tobey plays a great awkward nerdy teenage Peter, he's way to muted as Spider-man, It's just not really Spider-Man without his quips. Andrew on the other hand does a great Spider-man but he's to much of a "cool guy" for Peter, he has practically none of the awkward nerd persona.. And i did not say Tom was in any way perfect. But he does play the awkward nerd Peter better than Andrew and he plays the quippy Spider-Man better than Tobey. Hence my comment of him being more balanced. I like all three in their own way. But hey, if you dont like Tom's Spidey thats fair. The character has 60+ years of continuous stories about him with more takes on the character than i can count. So to each his own.
@@Ranzor527 your very well versed in Spider-man, and i will say i definitely respect your opinion, i will gladly eat my own words for implying you didn't know what you were talking about. But i definitely respect your perception of Peter.

I’m sick of the word “edgy” so much.
Calm down, you're getting too excited.
I've always seen their personalities as this
Tobey Maguire is the Ryan Drummond: Campy and awkward with tons of cheesy yet nostalgic lines. Has the biggest cult following
Andrew Garfield is the Jason Griffith: Cooler and edgier and his stuff was a bit more mature even if they were seen as a mixed bag
Tom Holland is the Roger Craig Smith: Very comedic and does tons of meta humor and is the most mainstream one.
Again, very interesting parallel
Yo!!! I was not expecting a comparison made using Sonic voice actors.
Couldn't agree more
I love that most agree Andrew is the most accurate. It’s why he’s been my favorite since his debut as the webhead in 2012. I love Andrew Garfield and his version of Spidey.
I think Andrew Garfield would have been the perfect 616 Peter Parker and Tom Holland would have been perfect as 1610 Ultimate Peter Parker.
I would switch tom with Tobey he got the girl

Tobey's spider was genetically altered too. Like the ultimate comics it happens on a field trip instead. Tom's is the only one who was radioactive.
Garfield, next question
I can already tell this is gonna be another Tobey Glazing video
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth
AVI ARAD on the other hand, just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of this movie
Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise again
Spider-Man was nothing without her
TASM 1 sucked. It's not memorable at all. Andrew Garfield will not be remembered as Spider-Man. That clearly belongs to Tobey Maguire. Sam Raimi knew wtf he was doing (save SM3's studio interference).
@@luismaldonado4989too bad Maguire was the worst one

@ I was born in 1862, so close enough
@TailwagAnimation missed it by that much
Andrew Garfield.
Next question.
With great power, there must also come great responsitility
I hear everyone being blind bay nostalgia saying Toby is the best I hate how blind people are when it comes to Spider man

Michael Cera as Spider-Man is fucking bonkers lmao 😂 I can’t even imagine it
personally, i'd say peter b parker
ik this probably applies to only live action, but overall i'd say peter b. in itsv he encapulates how being spider-man really is like after 22 years, and even so it still applies to the comics where after being spider-man, peter really does consider quitting, but he hasn't because he still holds on to the phrase of "with great power, there must also great responsibility".
i feel peter b captures of what would happen to a person after doing something for so long, he's burnt out, tired and overall depressed. this REALLY fits the character in the comics, and he still has the attitude from the comics where he's jaded, sarcastic and he even does well when he quips. he still has that trickster tone, which makes him even more accurate.
heck he's even more comic accurate considering that he had an aunt may that died (like in asm 400 and the civil war run), and also that in the canon event scenes, his own events mirror the comics, which solidifies him being very comic accurate (the canon events scenes with the marriage mirrors asm annaul 21 and also the captain stacy scene which mirrors asm 90).
Andrew
Nicholas Hammond hands down.
Its literally Andrew and Tom they both took alot from comics
The best comic book adaptation was Spider-Man 2002 movie it felt like Amazing fantasy first appearance Spider-Man 1962 comic book it does copy the story where he gets bit by a spider get bullied by flash Thompson the wrestling match and the name was changed bonesaw McGraw instead of crusher Hogan again it was amazing it's accurate to the comics 👍😀
man, we coulda had logan lerman as spidey twice.
Spidey is also a good friend of Wolverine
His character has little to no attitude, he doesnt mock his villains, he doesnt swing in NY, hes always acting like the kid in the avengers team and lacks that kinda snarky or kinda “douche” personality traits that Spidey is known for
@@gama103 Bro hasn't watched ANY of his movies 💀

Tom I think was decent with both of being Peter Parker and Spider-Man but I think it could be better, there are few issues I have with him.
Tom Holland's Peter Parker doesn't have an uncle ben , instead his regular parents were killed in 2011 in Iron Man 2 by the Hammer Drone Robots. Tony saved peter who was using a toy repulsor at the hammer robots
and tony told him "nice work kid" for his bravery and that caused him to be a hero when he got the power instead of using it for himself
He got his power in 2015 making him 14 years old
He does have Uncle Ben because that’s how Aunt may is his aunt through Uncle ben
Tom Holland’s Spider-man isn’t accurate because he doesn’t care about his secret identity as much as Comics Spider-man he always got his mask off where Comics Spider-man never removes it except when he’s around people he trusts

Dude can't pronounce responsible right
Tobey is the best Peter Parker, Andrew is the best Spider-Man and Tom manages to find a good balance of both.
I do agree that he was definitely more aggressive in the ditco era, although i don't recall he ever became as passive as tom after that, he was awkward ya and sad, but i feel he always had more of the stray cat type of sadness where i get more of a lost puppy vibe from tom, which i also feel with miles. But i definitely respect your perception of Peter.

Tired of that myth 😂 Tom is ass. Andrew is bad and Tobey is the best
@@SEP_srce that's why I recommend you all to read comics. Peter Parker wasn't a complete soft boi like tobey & Tom's Peter. He had anger issues & was quite snarky.
I think that Tom Holland is the worst Spider-Man and Peter Parker. They tried to make him into Miles Morales. He’s just goofy and stupid. The scene from home coming with him shooting the web up and running around in the back ground of the bad guys that’s not Spider-Man to me. Far From Home is the absolute worst Spider-Man movie. Almost killed his classmates. Not Spider-Man. Gives the glasses and leaves them on the floor. He’s an incompetent Spider-Man. The last one while a step up. Aunt May died because of him. Why did he think it was a good idea to take them out from where they were captured? And everything great about that movie was because of Tobeys Spider-Man
miles wasn't like this until itsv and homecoming came out first, so no they didn't lol
@ who cares that doesn’t stop him from being the worst and least like Spider-Man/Peter Parker
Tobey. Anyone who says Garfield is just wannabe comic fans.
Most accurate, maybe Andrew Garfield I guess. Best written, Tobey Maguire. Most accurate doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. Plus TASM 1 and 2 suck anyway.
Wrong they are great movies
