Right ! Jerry Goldstein and that traitor of Lonnie Jordan stealed then name (and $) and created a fake band with their name. The only 3 OG'S Harold Brown, Howard Scott and Lee Oskar alive made THE LOWRIDERS BAND. I'm loving them for almost 50 years now, I guess that's why i'm so involved

Robin Trower was very open about his being inspired and borrowing from the band WAR's song "Four Cornered Room" to compose his hit "Bridge Of Sighs".

Their harmonica player, a Danish guy named Lee Oskar, was amazing in the way he used his instrument as an inside voice of the "War" R&B fusion horn section. Nobody else has ever really done that, and it absolutely makes so much musical sense. Once you mic the "harp", the sound can be colored in many ways, but the breathiness is always there in the background. Every once in a while, it peeks up out of the inner texture, but he seldom has it in your face as a constant solo instrument, the way that most blues harp players do. Through most of their songs, you'd swear it was a saxophone.
Sometimes you really hear it more as a harmonica, but it always serves the needs of the song! A real musician's musician, as all of these hit-making guys tended to be! It's all about the groove!

Another stellar review. Fantastic band. Learned harmonica because of lee. The Burden years were classic, also.

Yes they do, but with all the surviving original members. I don't think Jerry Goldstein will let this happen.

Great short documentary. She missed the first album after Eric Burdon left, which was just called War in 1971, before the release of All Day Music, but good information none the less.

I'd hoped she would have told the story of what Jerry Goldstein did to the former original members of War, Lee Oskar, Harold Brown, B.B Dickerson, and Howard Scott. These players formed the Lowrider Band, and tour under that name playing the songs of War.

I had seen War many times from around 1975 to around 2006.This would be in the Oakland SF San Jose area.In the earlier days they were better but they still kicked ass in the later days.Oasis club in San Jose around 94 they did All Day Music for around 15 minutes. They tore it up and then some. The whole club got cold chills on that one.`No matter who was in their band they got down and played their hearts out.RIP to all the fallen brothers

I agree; definitely yes, War Music Band should be in the Rock Hall of Fame. It is a group that, in my opinion, revolutionized Pop-Rock music, of course, like other groups, in its period of greatest musical splendor.
