- Something slightly different today! I try a pinhole lens on my Sony a6000 and embrace the imperfection of this little lens.

Vlogging about photography (mostly landscape) and all kind of camera gear, digital and analog.
I've been wanting to do some pinhole work for a long time, but I was afraid of the cost. Experimenting with film can get very costly. That's why I got so excited and couldn't resist buying this pinhole lens for my Sony camera. Have you shot pinhole before? Share links to your images! I'd love to see them.
Son las imperfecciones las que hacen única la belleza.
Buen video y grandes fotos, Adrián!! 👏👏👏
Muchas gracias, Javi!
Your work on this one is superb bro!!! All I can say is it is awesome. The dog enjoyed your company. Cute dog indeed. More videos like this will be a killer.
Thank you! There will be more, for sure :)
The b-rolls in your videos are getting better and better! and you're right, it is a cute nice dog :)
Thank you! Yeah, she was very sweet :)
Great video!
Really enjoyed your editing and presentation style!
Glad you liked it, thank you for watching!
I took a Pin Hole shot when I first got into photography. I used a shoe
box and with an actual pin hole and a piece of tape to cover, uncover and cover the hole again. The shot came out pretty good.
I really like the new out of the box thinking that you do right now. Pushing the film all the way andnow this? Really good stuff! 👌
Thanks, I'm glad you are liking the videos :)
Another method to use pinhole on a digital camera is a “pinhole slice” mounted on a rear element of the lens. Between the lens and the sensor. That helps to avoid dust on the sensor and the picturese are generally more sharp. I saw some of such pinholes for different lenses on eBay for very affordable price
That's a good idea, I'll look those up. Thanks, Jakob!
OK, I was viewing all your videos in your youtube channel from the first to this latest one and I reached "ground zero" today :) all videos seen and I look forward to the new ones.
Whoa, that was a lot of videos! Pretty impressive :D
Haha, that dog was so funny. "Hey, stop filming, pet me, give me attention!"
Yes haha, it was a very cute dog.
I just got my pinhole lens through Ebay. I will use it on the a6500. This weekend I will go out and test it. Good luck with yours.
Hope you enjoy it, Mike!
I've shot a fair number of film and digital pinhole photos. Thingyfy makes a high quality pinhole "lens" for Sony and other cameras, but twice the price of the Holga. Also Lensbaby a few years back made a pinhole element for their lens mounts, which might be found on eBay. I much prefer pinhole film over digital. To my eye digital pinhole is blurry. Film is soft but less blurry somehow. There's a gray smokey quality that I enjoy. A couple of tips: with film especially it helps to make certain your camera is level since you have no way to determine exactly what's in frame. Use a bubble level. Also, don't be afraid to post process pinhole images like you would any other image. You don't want to lose the pinhole characteristics, but at the same time if a little Photoshop can help, then why not? I often use Topaz AI Sharpen in Focus mode to bring back detail. Used subtly it's amazing at what it can do.
Cool stuff!
Thanks!
After 15 years I've return back to digital pinhole photography using a dustless pinhole body cap for my sony cameras. Well, it's fun! Here are my first images from that project: marekphotodesign.com/digital-pinhole-photography-sony-a7r3-camera/
Lol, I like to imagine someone from the past seeing this- recording video that is sharper than real life on a telephone, and taking pictures through a pinhole. I really like the effect of the lens, and i'm surprised you got so many great pictures with that lack of sharpness. I guess pinhole stuff needs to be exposed on some kind of larger format to look crisper, but the eerie look really suits some of those photos.
the video section was incredibly creepy really excellent overall feeling of dread brrrrrrrrrr :)
Hehe, a little bit!
Currently I'm experimenting with a modified Agfa Clack and a laser drilled 0.3mm pinhole. The aperture is about 225. The cost was the equivalent of less than $ 10. The camera is loaded with a Pan F. Wrong film at this season, because the light is currently not sufficient for a calculable exposure due to the reciprocity law failure respectively the Schwarzschild effect. So I do not have any results yet. The Pinhole Video is a nice idea and great.
Pan F is such a beautiful film stock. I just find it really hard to shoot because it's so slow, can't image with a pinhole haha. I hope you can get another film, or get some light to shoot that Agfa. Good luck!
Probably making your own, and attaching it with a camera body cap will give much better results ... I’m sure there some youtube people out there with videos explaining what I’m talking about along with a way to get smaller f-stops too ... or any ND filter add ons ....
Cheers !
I made one this summer using a body cap and it works just fine. But since the cap has an actual hole in it, I thought that dust or even water could get in and damage the sensor, that's why I decided to purchase one. After seeing the build quality, though, I think it's not any safer... oh well!
Why are flares and sensor dust negatives? When you're using a pinhole, imperfection is kinda the point.
Watched this as I’m about to sleep, thanks for the nightmares
Oh no! Sorry about that, Ben 😅
What's the soundtrack? It's interesting. Also, unsettling.
You know you can drill a hole in a spare body cap for £2 and get the "same result" - or similar pinhole photography.
Yup! I did that, but I was afraid dust would get in since there's a real, physical hole. That's why I decided to purchase this one, but I wasn't expecting the poor build. I guess I'll just have to deal with the dust :)
Cut a largish hole in a body cap, tape foil over the hole and make a pinhole in the foil - it's easier to get a super-small, regular hole in foil than in a body cap. Tape or glue an old uv filter to the body cap if going somewhere super dusty.
Creepy footage...
the video is very creep for sure
Haha, a bit :)
