I have been searching for the answer to this particular topic for years.... and finally... here it is! You nailed it! You are amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!!
Philip. You said you found the answer. Can you do this? Did you “find” your mixed voice? As if ti actually was something that you find and dont have to work at?
i was an out of tune singer. But now, I'm still out of tune. But this tip helped alot. Using the cry like mix, helped me sing in tune. Without straining my voice. I'm self taught.
This explains so much to me, whenever I sing intentionally bad, I sometimes do it as if I'm crying while singing and everytime I did that some high notes felt so much easier. Than if I tried to get serious and sing it since I was shocked that I reached that note effortlessly, I can't.
Yeah, song is the beautiful materialisation of emotion, so "imagining you're crying, laughing or angry" is a great way to engage the whole body and piggy back on what feels natural. Using "woh" is also a fixed muscle configuration and depending on the problem the student has is also a good hack especially when trying to pay homage to a timbral quality that you like. You're still one of the You Tube vocal coaches I esteem the most. Good job and well done on your growth. Are you / do you have some performances of yourself singing well? I think it would be the best way to legitimise your brand and also I think people want to hear it. Props again!
Could you please do a video on making your mix ‘stronger’ /more chest like? I feel like mine is significantly lighter and brighter than my chest. Working on it but would love some tips!
Do " Kharaj Riyaz " an Indian Classical technique for lower Notes and dont do Notes above C4 for few days ! after few days you wiill hit G4 and definitely it will grow your range above C4 ...
Dude ... I’m so excited now. I just happened to pop into your video, and your voice has amazed me! I plan on watching on your vids and following your tips for singing!
Your mixed voice lesson was amazing man. For some reason im having trouble separating my chest voice from my mixed voice. Can you explain how they differ and how late into your chest voice you can switch or find this sound before continuing to drag chest up. So far in your exercice I can only manage to bring the ping completley up on chest voice to around G4 before seamlessly switching to head voice and In the middle I just cant find errrrrm bright ping sound that is supposed to be the beginning of the mix
Been trying to sing this sonv for years and thanks to your advice, it immensely helped me understand on how to sing it properly without ever relying on my talking voice ever again. Thx a lot, you helped me learn something I've been yearning that felt a lifetime. 😁
Thank you this is what I’ve been lookign for. Everywhere i see commmnts that bruno mars is singing in full chest voice and it’s so confusing because the chest voice can’t go up there. The key is to have a mix voice.
@@tylerwysong ik I’m late on this but I like how u lowkey flirting back with him like that shit hot. And your voice and face is beautiful man as well as your mixed voices vids actually helps me. Hmu 3462523093
Tyler keep it up! Your videos are great and I learn so much from watching it again and again, because of your videos, I learn the SOVT and Ken Bozeman’s acoustic register, they help me a lot!
for me the hardest part of hes voice is the "growl" because most of the time bruno singing in mixed voice and when he goes for much higher tone he is adding some growl to it that makes it super hard for me to sound like him, until now i cant figure it out how can i add a growl on my mixed and higher tone.
Really nice job there. Thanks a lot for the tips and keep up the good work. Btw any tip in singing when having the flu? Man it's impossible to even hit a f# when being sick.
I can hit those notes , with little efforts but without any type of tension . But my voice is not as soft as your in that area . mine is more rock solid or Belting in mix type voice in that area . How to make that soft in that particular area?
I’m planning to start singing and I’d like to have a voice like Bruno Mars. I wanna know what it takes to hit high notes like him. Is it more of having a stronger falsetto or does it have to do with head voice? I’m very new to the concept of singing and I need some advice to begin. Every tip I can get is enough for me.
First tip: the muscles involved need to be strengthened. Best way to trick your voice into going higher is doing sirens. It will take training but the training doesn't take long if you're dedicated to reaching the note.
It doesn't work for me, it's like my throat is closing. I know what cry feels like cuz I'm depressed person and I been there, but in my way it doesn't sound the clear and acoustic way you're singing in. I'm like so close to give up singing. I can't afford a lesson and I'm going down hill.
If you are a true bass baritone then to sing this high might be a challenge, but every voice is different, I know some true baritones who can hit high C’s well. So I wouldn’t limit yourself to what you can do. But it is true that a true Bass voice would have a hard time hitting these notes in a fuller sound. However you would have much better lower notes than a tenor ever would. So just enjoy whatever voice you have and learn all that it can do. Cheers.
Hey tyler i tried finding my mix but its more on head voice falsetto sounding... hehe how do i make it sound more like chesty? Or am i doing it the right way?

@@tylerwysong then I don't get it. Can I send you a super short video to show you what I think it's mixed voice? For me, it feels like head voice in terms of effort, but it has a lot more body and power.
Hi Tyler! Love your work. It really helped me find my mix voice. A question though, when Pavarotti sings a hi C in Nessun Dorma for example, is it a mix voice? It sounds so much stronger than a "normal" mix. Looking forward to your feedback. Keep up the good work.
Well you can't always trust the opinion of what other people say but has anyone ever told you that you sing good? Sometimes you need to guard what you allow other people to speak about you but at least start there with someone whose opinion you trust.
Idk my mixed register does not sound loud like yours - in fact bro, I don’t think that was your mixed register. To me your voice sounded so powerful that I think that was your power/chest voice. I went to another vocal instructor one time, only once and I said I’m trying to sing high like Bruno Mars. That is my only goal, not to sound like Bruno Mars, but to only sing high, and he said I have to with my chest voice. He really like how well my mixed register sounded on high notes, he also said if I build it, I can eventually make my mixed register strong enough to sound like my chest/power voice singing high notes. Although for the power/chest voice he said to do the crying sound you made with my chest/power voice and slide all the way up to the high notes and back down so that I can hit high notes like Bruno Mars. I don’t know about you but, my mixed register sounds like Prince and The Weekends Voice when they go high, like Heaven. Think of movies where they show the Character of God walking in and the movie sound track is saying Ahh- Was that really your mixed register?
That's my mixed voice. I agree with you thought hast it was a full mix voice. To me Prince and The weekend sing in more of a light and or head mix, which is a great sound ut is not the same coordination I am making here.
