Coloring Book question: Hi Karia. Sorry this must seem from out of left field. I recently got a copy of Millie Marrotta's Curious Creatures. Its a Lark publication printed in Singapore. Problem is the paper seems super smooth which I didn't expect. After I made the purchase, I found your video about this coloring book where you mentioned that the paper has great tooth. So I was wondering, does your copy say where it was printed? This is part of my quest to understand the variations in coloring book quality. Thanks, Henrietta
You know I don’t remember if I have that one but I do know that sometimes they change the paper between books. The other thing is that if the paper is too smooth I would try a softer pencil. Prismacolor are not my favorite but they are very soft. Lyra supracolor as well as the Derwent colorsoft can work on paper that is smoother with less tooth. If you have any of those pencils I would try them and see. The Lyra and Derwent colorsoft don’t layer as well but they can still work.

That's a great idea to turn your oil pastels over then u know what you've used....wish I had space and money to buy oil pastel I've been learning drawing and sketching from ed cooper in the uk videos hes awesome he has some great charcoal video for beginners like myself if your interested in learning basics....also anne kerr from is a awesome ytube teacher she has a great range of videos for beginners she has a video that turn into a underwater scene that started as a mistake drawing and she made it work...I'm going to put the watercolor book you recomd for xmas list...thank you for these reviews...i bought a roll of arches WC paper that's my biggest haul I did this last yr, i did buy water color( 4 posters) from Michele webber to help me mix my WC I had bought a color wheel but as a beginner it was okay🤔🥴 but I need something more visual to help me learn as I paint while practicing techinques and skills , as you know when your beginner things can get a bit overwhelming learning and practicing....I did have a wonky question do you think I can use acrylic paint on my arches paper as I bought 10yd roll I just want to paint and i have a pict of acrylic paint cause i dotted stone designs but I'd like to do a bit more arcylic painting on paper have you've tried to use WC paper with acrylic...or is it a heck noooooo....I've have plenty of WC paper to try the median on wc....thanks for reply...looking forward to more of your videos....blessing toward your art creation today 😷🎨👩🎨 mikelle by mom...

When mixing a gray, try bringing the black into the white. Just add a tiny bit of black at a time to create the gray that you want.
