Bass, I remember you praising Cooper pre-draft and he is going to be a stud linebacker. If Walker continues to figure it out the Packers will have a great duo at LB. and I am here for it.
18:10 it was clearly Valentine who was at fault, he was supposed to drop on that one. At 38:19 I see it more as a timing issue, he needs to get that ball out sooner, same as the Doubs PI at the end of the first, in both cases Doubs and Watson already had a step, gotta let that thing go then. At 43:33 this is clearly on Doubs he needs to sit, if Love leads him it’s a pick or a hospital ball.
I've been saying this for a while but Quay is a downhill linebacker. I think when they drafted him, they saw the athleticism and thought he could learn to be a good coverage backer similar to Fred Warner. It's very apparent though that he doesn't have the consistent coverage skills to make plays in coverage. He will occasionally make them (which is fine) but he is far more productive when he is attacking forward rather than moving backwards dropping into coverage. Bas has said this before but it seems like if you give Quay one job to do he is usually pretty good at doing that one thing. I just don't think he has the natural football instinct to focus on multiple facets of the game at once. It's a small sample size with Coop but he already looks like he understands coverage better than Quay while he is still very good at coming downhill to stop the run or blitz the QB. At this point in time, I would start Coop and Quay full time and have Coop be the more coverage focused backer and have Quay focus on run filling and blitzing the A gap. Then have Wilson and McDuffie rotate between the third spot between the two of them. Maybe go Duff early in the game to help slow down the run game and then Wilson later when teams are passing more since Wilson seems to be a faster/coverage backer than Duff. Hell you may even be able to go Nickel 4-2-5 with Coop as the Nickel guy occasionally. I think that is going to be the defenses most productive formula at least at the Linebacker position.
Crazy part is, Hopper isn't far behind Cooper... In his limited snaps he looks the part... I wish he could get sum snaps sprinkled in against the Saints...
how can i see who the packers potentially play in the playoffs? is there any website or anything that can show me theoretical playoff matchups or something
Bas film reviews better than J Saturday..no lie. Coop! 93.8 highest graded player entire NFL week 15! Could have dropped a 40 burger on Seahags. MLF admitted to to mismanaging game right before half. Also didn't go for it 4 and 1 and 4 and 3. Not sure why he's coaching like MM.
