Hey! I really like your cymbal arm on hi hat, what model is that arm exactly? I was hoping to use a Gibraltar médium cymbal arm for my set

Hi! Ours is indeed a Gibraltar, I believe it's probably medium. This should be the exact one www.guitarcenter.com/Gibraltar/Grabber-Cymbal-Arm-1273887992907.gc?cntry=us&source=4WWRWXGP&gclid=CjwKCAiAkrTjBRAoEiwAXpf9CVgZZ1l2KWVciAUgPfvOwd04XXpn2jncS2tyDvrYxeJj2wfZKf3W2BoCycoQAvD_BwE
Honestly, if you could go a little longer i might suggest it, sometimes this arm feels a liiiittle too close and low to the high hat. But if you get used to it you're a ok!

The Pigeon Pack hey! I just bought that same one yesterday, got it second hand for 15 bucks! Won't try it until next week though since my drums are elsewhere, but I think it will work. I'm used to having my crash low too! Thanks for the guidance and cool idea :D

Maybe play the thing a little? I’m not known to ask for much. ;)

Ahhh for my project Monopolyopolis I just did the same thing, with the same Ludwig accent floor Tom! I didn’t know they made hardware specifically for that though.

Ben Rellick well, they don’t really! What we got was made for Pearl floor toms, it just so happened work for this one as well!

Word of advice, learn to play hand percussion. If you're playing in a venue where that kit is too small, that's where you would want to bring a Cajon, and a small crash cymbal. There's no reason to sacrifice sound quality for saving space.

You said playing in a venue where her kit is "too small" but somehow a cajon would be a step up in terms of sound quality. That's not logical in my opinion.

@@EarthtonesCymbals by "too small", I'm referring to a full kit being too small to get a quality sound when you can just bring a hand drum. In the video, she's talking about using a pair of hi hats as a snare, and a crash cymbal for "effect" in acoustic venues. She can get a much better sound from a cajon, or a djembe without sacrificing the snare drum sound (you might as well use a crumpled coke can as a snare if you're going to use a pair of hi hats), or bass drum sound as much. Plus your throne, and your kit is basically the same thing. In an acoustic venue, you're expected to rearrange your songs to accommodate the venue. Plus, there's no reason why the drummer should be the last one loaded up in such a small venue unless they brought unnecessary gear to the gig. Acoustic venues literally mean what they're advertising. They don't want an actual drum kit in the venue. That's the quickest way not to get asked back to a potentially lucrative gig.
