    Finally someone covers the rhythm guitar part of Josie. That's the part that first drew me to the song.

    How many rock songs use a Baug (b9) chord? Good grief the harmonic vocabulary of SD is incredible.

    I went a year without playing this song and it was so nice seeing your post. Again I love your shut up and play style with tabs. It only took a couple minutes to remember the song thanks to your work providing tabs. Thanks again, my friend

    • @iluvdaguitar
      @iluvdaguitar 8 місяців тому +1

      When you played it again after a year did you shut up and play it, or did you do an annoying amount of talking first? My guess is you shut up and played it, because I can tell you get annoyed with guitar lesson videos where they recite a full length documentary about the band and song before FINALLY getting to the lesson, then talk about every note, chord, scale, mode, trill, pull off, hammer on, anf arpeggio, and their place in music theory in nauseating detail so it takes 30 minutes just to get through the intro.
      Okay, okay, I know. I need to shut up and play. Sorry. 🤐😂✌🤘

      @@iluvdaguitar I shouldn't be so critical. I honestly believe some people are born with a gift and others have to work hard to play music. I know people who need to have the song broken down and explained and I know people who want to know everything about the song. I have a friend I can't talk to because he knows everything. Mention a song and he will tell you how the amp is set and the history of every musician most have had interest in. In my opinion, shit up and play the song and then do the talking. If your video is a song I want to learn or refresh my memory on you get my views and break it down at the end and you get the guys that need you to break it down and I might watch the rest of the video while rehearsing the song. I hate making videos. I hate the tech part. I just want to play. Hehehe

  • @fenderbender909

    Well played! I just learned this, can I suggest a couple of corrections? When it sings "girls say when" the first chord on "girls" is G/C instead of Em7. In the chorus where you play Baugb9 if you play B7#5b9 at the 7th fret you get the flat 7 as a bonus chord tone. For the last chord of the chorus I'm quite certain it is a B7#9#5 played at 2nd. I play the F#7#9 that comes before it at the 4th fret so it's a short jump to the 2nd fret. These same two chords are at the end of the bridge section as well. just before the lead break. I'm nitpicking but I can't help myself, I'm a hopeless note nerd!

      @@darrenmuso2621 Any song can be played many ways, as there's many ways to make each chord, but I've not seen two people teach this song the same way yet, however I think the bulk of his chord choices sound better than the others I've heard.

    Holy Moly!!! You are using "working musician" chords. I had watched a few of the other videos of this song, and was shocked at how guys were doing the right chords, but the long way around. UA-cam is fraught with guys showing they know these tough inversions, that while they work, are not practical. Really happy to see how you used the common sense A/D G/C D/G and C/F. Really nice and simple. Thank you for this! I really enjoyed it, and will be referring folks wanting to "learn songs" to your page.

      A/D is A maj chord with low D bass note? Depending how you finger the chord also looks like (Dmaj 7 chord) without maj 3rd? F# in D maj is 3rd. Yet I don’t know the name of the chord unless it’s A/D?? Wear that chord out

    Larry Carlton plays Fmaj7(9) F#7#9 for the first two chords like you did, but the last two are D/G and Abmaj13. You sounded so close most would notice, but try it with the D/G and Abmaj13. You'll hear the difference. I'm not trying to disparage your playing. It sounds great, but just give it a shot. It sounds better.
