I saw a recent YT vid where Def Leopard had gone fractal because it works doesnt break down, is easy to transport set up and sounds just fine for stadium tours. You do you, I'll do the grumpy old cuss in Arizona.
I want a JHS modded Kemper. It could be just a regular Kemper with the JHS logo on the side and a toggle that doesn't connect to anything. I would cherish it for 10 minutes and then flip the thing!

I bought a Kemper Stage 11 months ago. the best purchase I have made other than my Strat and my Tele. Flawless. Find a Matchless or a Morgan AC20 and good Marshall and add the costs up. Or buy a Kemper Stage for raf less and it includes a bunch of great effects plus so many great free profiles plus if you have decent amps you can profile your own gear. win win.
I am intrigued but I think I am going to stick with my in-the-box VST plugin guitar rig. Mostly Brainworx and UAD plugins. If you haven't tried this route the trick is to get the right pre-amp between your guitar and the audio interface. I use a Warm Audio Tone Beast. I think a lot of people get turned off to the VST solution because they try to use a cheap or unsuitable pre-amp. Also use a standalone VST host like Cantabile, quicker and easier to use than a DAW.
@@blueleaftuber Right, the playback is through the monitors. Latency was a problem in the past but today's computers and interfaces are fine. I have no problems. Remember that just as a $2000 amp sounds better than a $200 amp the more money you spend on your computer and interface the better it will all work for you.
I see them on craigslist and offer up alot between $500 and $700. I got mine in a trade for an epiphone sg. Had to replace the tubes, but the amp is a monster. The reverb is very week but the tone is so good that I barely ever touch my effects board. Its a marshall is every way shape and form. And the eq is powerful, I highly recommend it. The switch on the back that brings it from 40 watts to 20 watts does not effect the tone either. No effects except the reverb.
And it’s just “modeling” the real thing. I guess I’m just a boomer that diesnt understand how something that’s copying something else can be better than the thing it’s copying.

They’re actually advocating we go back to segregated dorms, graduation ceremonies, and race based policies. In fact, it doesn’t look like progress at all, it’s more like regression. Just like with Solid state amps. That was supposed to be a progression. Only they suck. Just like “modellers”. They’ll never achieve the complex harmonics and musicality tubes achieve. They’re fundamentally and technically incapable of doing it. That’s why records sound better than CDs. It’s why audience recordings to tape sound better than digital recordings. It leaves out that which makes the music sound alive.
I own the Headrush Gigboard and it’s great for bass and clean guitar, but any dirty tones whatsoever sound like unusable direct input tones. That being said, I spent $600 and built an amazing isolation cab for my tube combo amp that works amazingly well for tracking distortion and overdrive. I also use the Iridium by Strymon when I’m too lazy to run the amp through the iso cab and it works great as well. I have all of my bases covered really and couldn’t see myself spending almost $3,000 when I really don’t need what the Kemper can do.
The reveal vid prompted me to de-list mine and try it out again, after a fresh reset it's actually stunning the level of clarity you can get out of these units, my wallet ain't happy but i'm not selling it anymore!
@@stoneysdead689 lol idk what you're listening to in kemper demos but it sounds good, literally enough said, i wasn't selling my unit bc i didn't like it mate i was selling it bc i play casually and it's a lot of money to have sitting in a piece of gear when many amazing plugins are free if josh telling people to actually give something a real shot is what it takes for tons and tons of gear that would normally fall by the wayside in favour of "ol reliables" like tube amps, then call me a fanboy and part of the crowd tho haha, the behringer lineup is amazing and i know abt it bc of josh *shrug*
There goes the kemper market. I just built my own tube amp and liked the process. I had a headrush pedalboard and found the sounds lacking compared to my fender custom shop tube amp. I don’t know if it was a real difference or just in my head.
Given I already have a Floor, Stomp, and Stomp XL and PowerCab 112xl... Probably not. What I need now is about a year off so I can explore the amp models pedals and features of the products
@@feebypeels2883 I have a Jr. They’re great for the price. I live in a row home in Philly and my Vibrolux can be a little too loud for evening playing, and the Jr works great. I run a Timmy and the new MXR Duke of tone set on the boost setting before the Timmy straight into the front of it and get fantastic tones with my 335. Can’t go wrong with a fender amp. I like all of them really. The vibrolux just happens to be the perfect amount of power and the vibrato and reverb channel is amazing. I love the slow and deep vibrato, super swampy.
@@smelltheglove2038 My other amp is a Mesa Express 5:50 head, which can do pretty much everything, but I miss having a simple one channel amp without knobs and switches everywhere. Also having something to just pick up and go to jams will be nice. Fender is hard to beat, no doubt.

No worries JHS; I’ve been using a Kemper all year long too after picking one up due to the tube shortage. If it came down to using digital or losing one of my amps for an untold amount of time, something became better than nothing
It’s almost like listening to a poorly compressed UA-cam video through computer or phone speakers is a completely different experience from playing a guitar oneself through an amp, analog or digital.
I would get one but my son is old enough to carry my super reverbs now so I'll stick with those for now
I think the point Josh truly tries to make is that people need to realize anything can sound good when recorded properly.
I don't know how much they cost, but I guarantee you I'm too broke for the foreseeable future.

So you just play your guitar through the computer and through studio monitors? Is there latency from running it that way?

Add another $400 for parts and labor to replace the main circuit board if you have my luck. $750 for the amp and one year later $400 for the repair.

I've been playing through a Boss GT-1000 for years. Amazing bass tones. Not the same as a 4x10 cab and real amp which its own wonderful experience.
I got a HX Stomp three months ago and with the new 3.50 update it was the best decision! Currently building a pedalboard around it.
Given I already have a Floor, Stomp, and Stomp XL and PowerCab 112xl... Probably not. What I need now is about a year off so I can explore the amp models pedals and features of the products
