I definitely am aboard with Doubling Season being one of the most fun cards in the format. I have the combo of Doubling Season + Cathar's Crusade + Ajani, Caller of Pride in my Arahbo deck, and that just immediately gives you 80 cats with 162/162 stats. It's absolutely hilarious and over the top, which is what makes commander so fun.

For a budget version may I suggest Primal Vigor as well! Doubling season but group hug is really fun

Sunforger works so damn well in my Akiri, fearless voyager deck. Sometimes it just feels like i'm playing control even tho the deck is very combat oriented with a bunch of small creatures and cheap spells. Being able to protect yourself with Teferi's Protection / Boros Charm or protect Sunforger with Blacksmith's Skill at any moment is priceless. You can also play the "police" role by casting all the good white spot removals.
I added Mistveil Plains to the deck so I can reuse most of my instants I just tutored for.
You know what else is cool? Joe and Beezy and their daily videos! How good are these legends!

My definition of a card being “cool” is will it reliably be part of your “and then they cast ________” story and the table erupts. So at first I wasn’t there for Scute Swarm but I’ve definitely had stories around that card. Great vid you two. 🎉

Played the card and did the thing making 2048 copies using Awaken the Woods... very cool right?
Paass turn and next opponent plays Deadly Tempest (Destroy all creatures. Each player loses life equal to the number of creatures they controlled that were destroyed this way.) Oh the table definitely went crazy :(
Sunforger fan here. I still use it in a few decks, mainly those that discount Equipment costs or reward me for playing what it fetches. In the former it makes using it MUCH more worth it even with a minor reduction in the cost, the latter the extra bonus (along with getting exactly what I need at the time) makes up for the additional cost.
It’s so cool and I have lost to it for sure!

I run Valki in my own "Oops all Creatures" Henzie deck, because it's one of the only ways to run a Planeswalker in that deck.
I would also add Wand of Wander alongside Fevered Suspicion if you care about something being an artifact that rolls dice

Crim seemed to think War and Peace was worse than body and mind if I remember correctly. He thought the lifeswing was insignificant in a 40 life format, notes that prot green is relevant for getting pst blockers, and makes the point that sword of body and mind is the only sword that makes a body to hold the sword should the original holder be removed. He also really likes mill ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rite of Replication with Anointed Procession, Doubling Season and Parallel Lives on the table! 40 of whatever you want to copy. Overkill is so much fun...
Rite of Replication targeting Risen Reef is one of my favorite things to do in my Omnath deck. 25 of those triggers is backbreaking.

Edit: i agree thay doubling stuff, as well as the "triggers an additional time" stuff (which is effectively doubling triggers) is the coolest thing ever. Token doublers, counter doublers, whatever doublers, all so cool.
I once casted Rite of Replication and my opponent's Massacre Wurm and everyone lost 10 life per creature, which won me the game instantly. Very memorable indeed.
Since Rite of Replication was brought up I want to throw a shout-out to a similar pet card of mine Echoing Equation. Have to have that board state of course but feels so good making a bunch of 0/1 Saprolings into a bunch of Elder Gargaroths or Old Gnawbones or Hullbreaker Horrors or whatever other huge dumb creature you have on board.
I also enjoy SO MUCH Fevered Suspicion in my Ramos Deck, it is so freeking fun.
Inkshield has definitely saved me and won me the game before. Playing against a Jetmir deck and I wasn't drawing creatures for some reason. But I had Inkshield in hand. He goes to swing for 96 damage and I just make a ton of flying inklings instead. Retaliate for 192 damage. Amazing lol
I think that Maelstrom Nexus is the 18th legal 5 colour card? But also definitely one of the coolest. Before this, there was a lot of bad 5 colour cards, a lot of extremely creature type based Legends, some Coalition Victory and Child of Alara lol.
Elspeth only assisted with killing elesh norn who was ultimately killed by Karn. Jin died to his own creation, the may or may not be dead vorinclex was decapitated by a zalfir warrior, urb was killed by elesh’s people, and sheoldred was killed by ajani.
These are some really good cards. I am going to pick up around 4 of them. Thank you for the video Nitpicking Nerds.
haha literally the other day, I kicked rite of replication targeting the new etali on my opponents board. such a ridiculously over the top interaction to resolve. got another etali, and breach the multiverse. not forgetting that anytime soon.
Kicked Rite of Replication + Reaper King = the last game you'll ever play with that deck at that table.

I agree with you on the simic sword's effect, but with a different card. Everytime a player mills and opponent with Lord Xander's effect, that opponent ends up winning the game because now they have in the graveyard all the cards they needed in there... Jumpstart, aftermath, flashback... You name it.
Glad you mentioned Rite. I kicked it on an ink-treader the other week. It was insane to go from 1 to 30 creatures.

I'm glad someone else uses the term, "Boat." In my playgroup, anytime someone opts for the random choice over the visible choice, its called a boat. Etali gives 4 boats, killing morphs is killing a boat, etc.

I don't think Elspeth killed any of the praetors. She defeated Elesh Norn but I'm pretty sure Karn finished her off. Elesh Norn killed Sheoldred and possibly Urabrask. A random knight from Zhalfir. I forgot who offed Gin
She def killed Vorinclex but the story was written really weird so it seemed like some rando did it

I see you raise my nitpick with a nitpick. I'm going to have to call.
I was recently asked by my playgroup to stop playing Inkshield in my Aristocrats deck. Honestly, they were right... It's a card that just wins game. You get enough power in the board to seriously hurt one or two players, and then you either drain the table when the tokens enter the battlefield with Ayara or Corpse Knight, and sacrifice them to drain everyone out with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, etc. Even if you get hit with a board whipe you will still get the death triggers and kill everyone.
Rite of replication kicked on nyxbloom makes any mana source that would create one mana instead create 729 mana :)
Also if you want to do a ridiculously hard math problem with it, kick it on Hamletback Goliath
All the equip for zero cards to sun forger "Am I joke you?"
ink shield is a certified BOMB !!! most decks can not beat it.
Teferi’s Insight is a card I should put in my deck, I have it but never really used it. I think Tuvasa the Sunlit will like this card in her Enchantment pile
doubling season in minus & boo always rocks!
I love all the swords and i have the masterpiece version of body and mind, but i think it's tied for worst with sinew and steel in my opinion. I love mill decks but you can't play it in a normal mill deck cause the usual ones are built around phenax and you don't want to be swinging creatures with that deck however the perfect deck for it is Captain N'ghathrod since you want to be swinging in with the horrors and it gives you more options to steal and a blocker.
Player in my group managed to make over 5 billion scute swarm in a recent session. We had to get a graphing calculator for all the math
Zurzoth The Chaos Rider is a little devil dude 2/3 that attacks and makes a 1/1 devil lol but I think he's so cute AND cool at same time

I've played Doubling Season in my Atraxa Superfriends deck years ago... it wasn't fun for my playgroup. Yeah, cool, but just once maybe twice... but then everybody roll their eyes. And i got focused so hard... not fun.

I like the sword of body and mind in my Elona aristocrats deck. More bodies = more counters.
Haha, I will be running body and mind in a deck that steals non land, non creature permanents. I will say it is an equipment deck though, so it's just another toolbox piece.
If you're going to run mill, you need to be ready to run graveyard hate with the deck.

@@NitpickingNerds The somewhat exponential factor of being able to activate it a bunch of times, my playgroup generally doesn't go infinite, but kicking that thing up to hundreds of power has happened several times. And then there's the whole changeling part where I get to call it "My favorite angel" or "this demon is awesome!" Over and over while all of my friends groan at my endless dumb changeling jokes :-)

Elspeth did not actually defeat any of the Praetors. Elesh Norn had Sheoldred and Urabrask chopped up on a table. Vorinclex had his head cut off by a random Zalfir soldier. Jin Gitaxias got smacked in his head by another random soldier and fell into his own pond full of phyrexian piranhas. While yes, Elspeth did run Elesh Norn through with her sword, it wasn't a killing blow, only to slow her down for Wrenn to do her thing. Karn, as the fight was ending, pulled her head off her shoulders, finally ending the last Praetor.
As far as the cards go in the video, I play Bant Merfolk with Tuvasa as my commander, and my favorite thing to do is kick Rite of Replication to make 5 copies of Merrow Reejery so that I can basically go infinite with Summon the School.
If you read the one thing Elspeth did kill Vorinclex. It is worded weird but beezy showed me it was
@@NitpickingNerds Correction: Vorinclex was just decapitated. His current status is unknown. We don't know if the praetor regrew himself after the planar bridge destroyed all the organic material in his body would be killed by something as simple as decapitation
